The staff we're lovely, when we went in the bar for food and drinks we was served quick, staff went above and beyond couldn't fault them, the Sunday roast OMG it was excellent 10/10 me and hubby said we'd drive all the way from Coventry just for the Sunday roast it was that nice, the cleaners came in our room made the bed, put fresh towels and toiletries as well as coffee, biscuits eetc.If you've read my review this far then what are you waiting for?? Get the room booked you won't be disappointed ☺️

Only thing I found a fault with was the bathroom door wouldn't close fully, needs some wood shaving off.

We stayed in Room 1 (superior double) and it was one of the most spacious hotel rooms we have had the pleasure to stay in. It was spotlessly clean, with many facilities that do not come as standard in this type of establishment - the air conditioning was a very welcome addition during our current heatwave! The furnishings were modern and the extra large bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had a walk in shower, separate bath and double washbasin, all modern and in perfect working order. We also had lunch in the bar, which was excellent quality. We booked this inn accommodation as it was walkable to the White Peak Distillery and wouldn't hesitate to stay again and recommend to others.

The breakfast was lovely. Cooked to order and really tasty. The bathroom was great, it was huge shower with great water pressure and a lovely bath- all really clean and modern. The bed was also huge and really comfy too. We would stay here again!

We didn’t like that the houses behind could see right into the room which meant we needed to have the blinds down - I realise that the hotel can’t do anything about this however, there were skylights to let daylight in so it wasn’t so bad. The only negative for us is that the room was at the top of a flight of metal stairs which were quite noisy when people were up and down them .

Good hotel with a very good bar/restaurant. The staff were excellent and very friendly. Breakfast was good. The property had been completely refurbished a couple of years ago and felt new. Good size room.

The bathroom door was sticking. We went to bed quite early, but it was a bit noisy until the bar closed. Would suggest complimentary water and tissues are provided. Might be useful to have a blind installed as well to supplement the curtains.

The Inn is small and cosy and has been extended in an excellent manner. It has modern facilities in the rooms and its conversion from a pub built in the 1790's in a conservation area by the Cromford Canal into a modern facility has been achieved in sympathy with its surroundings. The car parking is good and convenient. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Cleanliness etc was all first rate.

I didn't quite understand how the heating/ air con temperature worked but the room was warm enough and I slept well.

I would highly recommend this place to stay, and I will 110% be staying again!! Cleanliness of the room, SPOTLESS! You would think it had just been renovated! Considering it's a pub below, you wouldn't know. Comfortable, big bed. No shops nearby, but it didn't bother me as I had been walking all day, but had a car, so it wouldn't have been a problem to pop out if needed.

Just an observation - when the side entrance was used, it shut with a bang, and you heard and felt it slightly, I was on the first floor. This doesn't put me off in the slightest to return!

Very clean smalled new looked new bed was comfy tastefully decorated every day the cleaner knocked on the door to see if we needed anything 😀 🙌 😊 ❤️

The food the picture s and ratings I saw I was shocked when our Sunday dinner came out cold and bland it had no taste packet mash veg raw gravy out of tube was definitely not what I expected 🫤👎so that was the only meal we had in

Nice clean place. Managed to be modern yet traditional at the same time. Excellent fish and chips and good choice of drinks. Room clean and comfortable. Modern shower. Comfy bed.

Sounds a small thing but… the toilet paper in the room! Tiniest little sheets and so thin. Everything else was perfect so why “spoil the ship for a ha’pth of tar”?!

We stayed at The Canal Inn for two nights in between Christmas and New Year to attend a family wedding. The staff at the Inn were superb, so welcoming and approachable. It felt as if everyone was interested in what we were doing and eager to help out and to make you feel welcome. The food at breakfast and evening dinner was super and reasonably priced. All in all our stay at The canal Inn added a great deal to a very enjoyable family event.

It was all superb. We'd happily stay there again.

Free reign of the outside area and rooms without having to go through the bar. Good beer, polite helpful staff and really clean.

The menu, whilst well cooked, could have had more healthy options. Just a little nit pick during a most enjoyable 3 night stay. Great overall experience.
