This was by far the cleanest motel/hotel we have been in. The attention to detail in the office, breakfast area and rooms is incredible. The bed was ok, I prefer a much firmer mattress, but for a motel bed, it did well. The desk area was unique and easy to use, but because they did not have a single drawer in the room, we ended up using it to lay out our clothes as we were there 3 nights and did not want to live out of a suitcase. The bathroom had lots of hot water and the soaps that they provide are very easy on the skin and hair. They kept decafe, regular coffee and hot water for tea set out for use all of the time with a decent assortment of teas. The buffet next door was not bad, the price was decent and we could walk to it without crossing any streets. Because we were traveling in a hot rod, they had us park it under the portico as the weather did not look great.

The lack of drawers in the room really was difficult as our stay was three nights. We used the desk to stack up our clothes and make them available instead of hefting a suitcase around daily to dig through it. With only one luggage rack, we would have had to put up and down at least one suitcase daily. Breakfast was awful. No toast, bagels only, three cold cereals, and a few hot cereals. The yogurt was the kind that sims in sugar and they had hard boiled eggs as the only protein other than peanut butter for the bagels. We ate there two mornings but after serious stomach issues and a distinct lack of protein energy, we went to breakfast adding $40 to the tab over all.

The room was spacious, the bathroom was huge (and probably didn't need to be THAT big, but OK, still plenty of space in the rest of the room. Furniture was basic, will probably wear out quickly after regular use.

No coffee maker, no complimentary bottles of water, despite the fact there was a small refrigerator in the room. Bottled water and snacks were available for purchase in the lobby, mini-mart across the parking lot had a much wider selection, but either way, don't expect to be able to grab anything decent if you get in late.

Property was very clean and pleasing aesthetically. Staff were very kind and attentive. There was a bagel breakfast bar that was very adequate and enjoyable. There’s even a little “Shop” that you can get some snacks and small meals to take to your room. The bed was comfortable and when I needed two extra pillows they were promptly sent up.

I do wish there was a microwave or coffee maker in the rooms but understandably that can be abused and cause bad odors and damages to rooms. There was a coffee bar in the lobby that was a really thoughtful touch.

The staff is awesome! So helpful and nice! The room was beautiful and very clean! Great shower! Space and the air conditioner worked very well.

Oh California-you have changed so much. The area is very sketchy, the hotel doors are locked at night, found an empty liquor bottle right by the front tire of my car (spidey senses went wild) then saw a number of gentlemen looking into vehicles. There is no microwave in the room, had to use the ‘community’ microwave.

Clean and modern property, comfortable bed and fluffy towels. Thumbs up for having a nightlight in the bathroom. Easy to find, right off the highway, convenient to restaurants and gas stations.

Breakfast (bagels, muffins, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea) was adequate, but some fresh fruit (such as bananas, apples) would make it so much better.

The room was really great, clean, renovated and the bed was perfect. Staff was friendly and we could park in front of the hotel. We walked to The Padre Hotel for dinner (good food for a good price there).

The location, some homeless people around and the neighborhood is not great. The bagel breakfast was bad. Not much choice for toppings, drinks did not taste good. We had breakfast at Cafe Smitten in Bakersfield downtown (really nice place).

Location is good. Close to a restaurant we used. Close to several gas stations.

A few street people outside, but I noticed a Security Person outside in the morning. The property is aging a bit. The breakfast is so HoHum. Can we have Fresh Fruit? Not over-ripe bananas, or tired apples? How about some whole wheat or whole grain muffins and better bread. Everything is Cake’y white flour muffins, bread, pancakes. In todays day and age, we should be eating healthier food. (My opinion).

Bed was really comfortable. I usually travel with my own pillow but the pillows were very nice and I used the pillows provided. We really liked the pump bottles of soap, lotion and bath wash. Quality products are appreciated. TV was easy to use.

people being noisy coming off the. Elevator at 12:50 and 1:30 in the morning.

I love that Sheila was very patient and kind and friendly to everyone in line. She had a smile on her face and was very willing to help.

The homeless folk at the entrance and walking around near the property but security was definitely doing a great job. The hotel has nothing to do with the homeless population.

This place is great! Not overly expensive, very clean, beds were comfortable, sheets were clean and smooth. Staff was very friendly and helpful, continental breakfast was pretty good (Bagels, yogurt, muffins). I would stay here again.

Could expand the choices for breakfast. It was very basic.
