Room was clean and they clean your room and give you fresh towels everyday. Staff was friendly and wanted to help with anything we needed. I especially like the free breakfast every morning and the big plus they actually bring it to your room instead of going to the lobby. Never stayed at a hotel that did that. If nothing else was good, I would still go back for the complementary breakfast room service.

This was my mistake not Blue Dolphin. I splurged for an ocean view room along the patio. It was a nice touch but our view was often blocked by people parking their car in front of the hotel. Next time I would go for the ocean view but ask for the second floor so when someone parks in front, I can have an unobstructed view of the ocean. No patio access but I want the view more than a patio anyways. Again, nothing against the Blue Dolphin, just my preference to remember for next time.

The breakfast burrito was so much larger than we had expected. We couldn't finish them. The facility is very nice and right on the water. Great location to lots of restuarants. The only complaint we had was that the room got really warm early in the morning as we were preparing to leave. When we stepped out to leave the hallway was cool. We mentioned it to the hotel clerk and she said we could have opened the windows. We did not know that was an option as it was not mentioned at check in and there was furniture in front of the windows. Despite that, we enjoyed our stay so much and would recommend it to our friends. I mention it so that they might let others know that is an option.

We loved our one night stay at this gorgeous little hotel by the sea! The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was so cosy, charming and very clean. We really enjoyed the delicious welcome cookies in our room and the view of the sea from our window. Moonstone Bay is an oasis of calm and beauty, just what we wanted on our Californian coastal road trip. We loved going for a stroll along the beach just across the street from the hotel as the sun was setting. The little town of Cambria nearby was lovely to visit too. We would recommend this hotel and love to visit again one day. It was one of our favourite hotels of our entire trip and the most reasonably priced.

Nothing negative to say about this lovely hotel.

We appreciated the made to order room service breakfast each morning! Very comfy beds and pillows! The shower head was the strongest water pressure ever encountered in a hotel! Excellent! Room TV was excellent! Will return again soon!

Small tight parking lot as I drive a full size pick-up truck The Mgt emailed us the same day stating that housekeeping found something we left and I requested they send a picture of the item to be sure it was something we left. Mgt said they couldn't do that. ;(

We loved the inn's location! It was right across from the ocean, and close to a dinner spot we walked to on our first night. Every day we had breakfast delivered to our room (this is standard) which we selected the night before from a list of choices. The inn was quiet, relaxing, close to Hwy 1 and a nearby "downtown." Easy drive to Hearst Castle and other sites.

I wish they had chocolate chip cookies every day!

Nothing. As it was the middle of November hot drinks on arrival rather than ice water would have been nice. However coffee and tea supplies in room made that possible

I love all the amenities. They have a pleasant, accomodating and warm staff, good coffee, bottled water, 2 cookies, robes to die for, comfortable beds, fantastic views of the ocean, breakfast burritos fresh, hot, delivered to your door every morning, bath soaps. I love this place. I have stayed at all 3 of their locations and they never dissapoints.

We enjoyed walking right across the street and having the boardwalk and beach so close. The breakfast was unexpected, very nice, and packaged to go anywhere. My wife was surprised there was no air conditioning The room was quiet, comfortable, and we left relaxed and totally unwound from city life in SoCal - we love Slo (slow) Cal!

My wife was surprised there was no air conditioning (she's Vietnamese) so I explained that the building was probably constructed before it even existed. Also, it's so close to the ocean that it would be a rare day to even need it - there was a fan in the room just in case.

Very comfortable beds. Room had a great ocean view and you could hear the crashing surf.

Lighting in room is too dim. Hard to read anything at night. Microwave/fridge hard to access behind doors and low down with no lighting. Shower head sprays so that it’s hard to soak yourself well. Especially if you are washing thick long hair. Water is so soft, it’s hard to know if you are feeling soap still or slippery water. No breakfast choices for vegans

Had a lovely October stay. The hotel’s proximity to the boardwalk made catching the California sunset a breeze. The staff was welcoming and provided great restaurant recommendations. Our room was spotless and the bed was firm and comfortable, contributing to a pleasant stay.

Overall, we had a wonderful experience. No drawbacks come to mind.
