This is an excellent, small hotel right on the ocean. From the moment of arrival, everyone was super friendly and check-in was smooth. A free huge cookie on arrival was perfect and the room was large with an excellent view. The gas fireplace was a welcome touch and the beds were super comfortable. The continental breakfast the next morning was perfect and just enough for a healthy start to the day. Everything was easy -- just as it should be. We would gladly stay here again.

At some point, the rooms could benefit from some renovation and updating, particularly the bathrooms and showers. But this is a very minor point and did not affect our stay at all. Everything was great.

Loved the location of the Inn. The rooms were bigger than we expected and the beds were VERY comfortable. The room was very clean and comfortable. The fireplace was a nice touch and the afternoon daily cookies in the office. Breakfast was good, we did wish it was a big more continental with more options but it did get the job done of keeping us full for the morning. Loved the easy access to the boardwalk and the short drive to town. Would definitely stay here again.

Maybe more options for breakfast but like I mentioned, it did get the job done.

We had a very nice stay. Rooms were a nice size and comfortable. Loved the the little deck. We sat out there and watched the sunset. The Sea Chest Oyster Bar is right next door. People line up to wait for it to open. We didn't wait in line, ate there twice at 7 after the sun went down. Nice to be able to walk right over. Our hotel had nice pastries each morning from Lynn's which was nice and coffee or tea all day. Moonstone is always a nice stay, with walks on the boardwalk trail. Cambria has great restaurants, a must try Indigo Moon, wonderful food and atmosphere. Lynn's of course and pick up pasteries too while your there. Moonstone winery has music on Sunday's. Hearst Castle Ranch winery is beautiful over looking the beach ( book ahead for that)

The room was huge compared to the other Inns located along Moonstone Beach. There's everything you may need on your visit. Coffee Maker, Microwave and Fridge. Free Continental breakfast was provided. The room had a dining table and chairs. It had a comfy bed and a fireplace. Even a fan to keep those of us who sleep hot. The view of the ocean was nice with an awesome view of the sunset.

It's really not the Inn's fault but next door is a restaurant. For the first hour or so once they opened for business, a singer with a microphone can be heard. It was annoying and broke the peaceful tranquility that I was hoping for being near the ocean. I wanted and paid to hear the ocean not a lounge Vegas singer. Thank goodness it only lasted for an hour or so.

We had one of the 1st floor rooms with a patio facing the ocean. It was such a gorgeous view and there is a lovely boardwalk we enjoyed. Nice continental breakfast and check-in and check-out were both super easy. We were there in mid March and seeing the young elephant seals at Point Reyes National Seashore was the highlight of our trip. Hearst Castle was also a very interesting visit. Our guide was so knowledgable and had a great sense of humor, too. Well worth the ticket price!

There were no downsides to staying at Little Sur Inn!

The room was so nice , very clean and felt like home. The room had a table/chairs, refrigerator and coffee maker. We all loved our very nice room with a fireplace and cozy beds. Easy, free parking and check in is convenient. Staff is wonderful. Good Breakfast and choices. Beautiful sunsets and lovely walking boardwalks near the beach. Close to the quaint Cambria strip. Cute shops with good food options. If you come in late, the restaurants do not stay open late. We ate at Round Up Pizza for dinner and they had about the best pizza I have ever eaten. The next day, we went to lovely Hearst Castle and came back to Cambria to eat a late lunch with fabulous Hamburgers at Main Street Grill. We would stay here again.

Location right on Moonstone Beach was superb. We watched whales spout from our private patio. At times we felt like subjects rather than guest with communication about rules, but we chose this property partly for the rules. We liked quiet hours, no smoking, no pets, adults only. Boardwalk for strolling Moonstone Beach right across the street.

Breakfast was marginal, but at least we didn’t have to go out. Bedding was awkward and did not fit mattress properly. Mattress a bit too soft and spongy.

The rooms were well-appointed and we were located close to the Boardwalk at Moonstone Beach (as described) which allowed for early-morning walks and easy access to the Beach. A short distance outside Cambria but probably too far to walk, there are several great eateries in the Town. We particularly enjoyed (and would recommend) Lynn's for lunch, and Robin's Nest and Madeline's for dinner. Also, for those that like horse-riding, there is a local stables offering the chance to ride a Clydesdale shire horse on a local trek with great views. Hotel also provides a light buffet breakfast which is a perfect start to the day.

Definitely a pleasant and comfortable hotel. Excellent location in front of the sea and the impressive promenade. The receptionist is helpful and welcoming and gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and trips in the area. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. In addition, a fireplace, a coffee corner, a microwave and a refrigerator. Comfortable beds. Includes breakfast in a dining room with a lovely balcony. And the possibility to prepare a hot drink and take it to the room throughout the day. All in all a good value for the price.

‏Points for improvement: the water pressure in the bath is weak, the breakfast is too sweet. Lack of bread, cheese and butter

We had a 2nd floor room looking at the ocean (an anniversary present to ourselves). The view was wonderful. The room had comfortable chairs to sit in, a nice table to play some board games, and a nice little balcony to sit out at. The location of Cambria is wonderful. The town is a relatively small, artistic town with lots of shops and places to eat. (We recommend Linn's for at least breakfast!) It's close to Cayucas (with a pier to walk on), Harmony (glass blowing and pottery shops), Hearst Castle, the Elephant Seals beach, and, if you're in the mood for a little drive north, Big Sur.

This may be petty, but the room had some smudges on the wall that couldn't be cleaned off (could have been repainted), the railing to the street was rusty and felt gross to use, and the "continental breakfast" was barely there - particularly considering what they charge for the rooms.
