Great staff, great views, and exceptionally clean!!

Loved it all!

It is very close to the beach, just across the road. The rooms were comfortable and sufficient. There were very nice walking trails along the beach with great views. There were fresh cookies available every morning, and there was a small breakfast area with a minimal breakfast for free. Near the motel there are a few restaurants the you can walk to. Cambria is a cute town with shops, stores and several eating options. San Simeon and Hearst Castle are only a few minutes away. There are several wineries a short drive away in Paso Robles.

The floors were squeaky in the room above us so we could hear the people in the room walking around a lot. The breakfast is pretty minimal. The motel is on the older side but nice enough.

Wish we had more time here, it was such an inviting place. The staff were excellent and friendly. The room was so spacious and comfortable with great amenities and the addition of cookies in the room was such a tasty touch. The shower was excellent (pressure and size). Wi-Fi and TV all great. The breakfast was ample. The location is opposite the ocean and the walking track easy to access. We would have loved to have used the pool and hot tub - next time. If ever I'm back in that part of the world would definitely go back. We were a family of five and had two rooms.

Room was decent and clean. They have a nice sized pool and spa. There is a fire pit avaiable in the evening. Great view of the ocean from the property and several chairs available outside.

The complimentary breakfast was a little limited. There was no yogurt the first morning with an hour to go for the service. There were only apples available for fruit, would like to have had bananas. The self serve pancakes were very small and tough, self serve walffles would have been better. There was no pitcher of cold water in the breakfast area.

My husband and I both were more than pleased with our stay. It's peaceful and quiet. The view was amazing and we were able to watch the beautiful sunset and it's within walking distance to our favorite place to eat The Moonstone bar & grill. Oh and we loved the breakfast the scones are my fave😊

Nothing to complain about

I’ve stayed at this property twice now, and I always feel safe and at peace. It has easy access to the beach making early morning or sunset walks a no-brainer. It’s also close to town and right off the highway if you’re looking to go up the coast. The fire pit is one of my favorite aspects. It’s lovely to sit out there in the morning and enjoy some breakfast and the sound of the ocean. Plus, I always met kind fellow-travelers and had good conversations.

You can heat the neighbors a little bit, but I think that’s to be expected. It’s never been a nuisance or caused any problems.

The breakfast bar, the amenities, the fire pit and great location. Close to a great restaurant. Excellent location.

Couldn't check in until right at 3 pm. We arrived early at 1. No cell service in the room or on the actual property. Had to walk across the street for reception. Which wasn't too bad. Also the smell of cleaning chemicals when we checked in was so strong we couldn't hardly breathe. Luckily I had some febreeze with me. I'm very sensitive to certain smells. Also our room was under the stairs and we couldn't see much of anything. Otherwise great place.

In the evening we enjoyed sitting on the Adirondack chairs on the lawn after using the hot tub. It was quiet and peaceful even though the inn appeared to be fully booked. The location is just a short drive to Heart Castle and the quaint town of Cambria. If you want to drive about 30 minutes inland to Paso Robles there are hundreds of wineries, restaurants, and shopping places to explore. We would definitely stay at Castle Inn again! Oh, and it’s right across the street from this wheelchair accessible walking path which goes along the coast for a few miles. Beautiful views!

The location was the best. All the outside seating, pool, and jacuzzi faces the ocean is beautiful. Great accommodations for handicapped with both the pool and jacuzzi. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Jack at the front desk was great in updating my room for my physically impaired friend. This hotel has the best outdoor seating on Moonstone Beach. I will definitely stay here from now on. They also have a BBQ for use.

The breakfast is good, but not great. What they have is good, but a few more options wouldn't hurt. It was good for me because I'm not a big breakfast eater. If my husband were with me fir sure we would have had to go out to eat breakfast.

The location on Moonstone beach, and the outdoor hangout spaces were perfect! We enjoyed each night hanging by the fire pit and spending some time in the jacuzzi. The breakfast was quite simple but a helpful touch.

The rooms on the first floor were noisy with the sound of people walking in the room above us. I would stay here again but on the 2nd floor. If you’re staying on the first floor, a white noise machine and ear plugs help. We had two different groups stay above us, and both were noisy walking (so it wasn’t just one heavy-stepper).
