We felt secluded in a good way and enjoyed our privacy. The bed was extremely comfortable. The shower and hot water in the bathroom was immediate and strong. The staff were friendly and assisted us whenever we needed it, replacing towels, lighting the gas fireplace, etc. The gas fireplace outside made for a very cosy enclosed and private evening area to enjoy the sunset. This accommodation suited my husband as I as were had very easy access to the beachfront area to exercise with other locals. We would stay here again.

The rooms are small so it took a bit of getting used to. Also, there are no little shops in walking distance.

I have stayed at so many hotels this year through-out California and this one was the best by far. The customer service (just like everyone says) exceeds expectations, the location is amazing, and the food/drinks onsite are so good you don’t need to leave. My only complaint is that we did not book this longer but we loved the quaint room, it was so comfortable, and we really enjoyed lounging outside. Most of the time I have checked out of hotels and you want to leave right away, in this case we stayed for a few more drinks and to enjoy the scenery. I think the description online is very straight forward and you can see the room is not huge. The attention to detail is what mattered the most to us along with the amenities it came with. We were helped mostly by Hunter who did such a great job showing us around and responding to all questions. We felt so spoiled.

This has ruined all other hotels for us. 😂

The aesthetic of the hotel is great: Spanish hacienda with vintage 1970’s vibes. The record player in the room was a plus. We always found parking conveniently close to our room . The bed and pillows were comfy. Large walk-in shower with excellent water pressure. We enjoyed the fire pits and cuddled up next to our personal chimenea to make and eat s’mores. All interactions with staff were friendly. We had breakfast out in the back patio, for which the menu included a nice variety of healthy and delicious options. This hotel is a great place to spend a weekend getaway with a significant other or group of friends.

This place is absolutely stunning! From the road, you can barely tell just how awesome it is. Once you're on the property, it's evident. The details in the rooms and throughout the bar/lobby are top notch! This was a fabulous getaway. With an ocean view and adorable upper deck, a spotless room, on-site parking and bar, with all the amenities, what more could you ask for! We loved this place and wish we had more time here. Welcome drink, e-bikes and massage services are complimentary with your stay too!

Truly the only thing that would have made this spot better would be if it had a pool. I know the ocean is right there, so you don't need it, but thats all I can think of!

I absolutely loved my stay at El Caminante Bar & Bungalows! This charming location exceeded all my expectations. Every detail, from the room key to the ocean-view patio, was thoughtfully designed to enhance the experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of their way to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect getaway. The attention to detail is evident everywhere you look, and the ocean views are simply breathtaking. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a serene and memorable stay.

This property has been completely gutted and renovated. It is charming and thoughtfully designed, in an Old California theme. The bungalows are delightful, and the restaurant offers a creative curated menu. The restaurant is patronized by locals, not just hotel guests. We happened to check in on the very first day that they were accepting guests, which explains why there were no reviews yet. Hard-working and responsive staff.

No dislikes. Could use some closet space. There are three spacious drawers incorporated into the bed which should be plenty if you didn’t bring a lot of luggage.

Very cool vibe and the renovation was executed nicely. Everything felt luxurious. The staff was very attentive.

The parking was kind of tight one of the nights we come home late from an event. But the staff helped us with parking. Our shower leaked, and it seemed like it was from an opening in the tile which made the floor very wet. Single room was a little bit small. As you walk in, you face the back of the bed and there was no closet space, just hangers. But the patio/courtyard you have outside definitely makes up for it.

Overall ambiance was great. Bar on site is nice. Electric bikes is a nice touch. Patios in downstairs rooms are great and makes room feel bigger. Breakfast (for additional charge) was a surprise, it was nice not having to go out. When full kitchen is up and running it will be a wonderful place to just stay put.

Rooms are small and bed takes most of the space. No closet but area to hang cloths. Upstairs rooms are loud if you are below (if people are wearing hard shoes). Would be nice if coffee and tea were offered and not an additional charge.

The attention to detail and customer service was superior. The bed was so comfortable. The decor was authentically 1940’s. The bar and cafe had delicious breakfast drinks, pastries and fabulous cocktail. All the employees were so nice and helpful. We enjoyed watching fireworks right from the balcony, took a nice walk along the beach and rode e-bikes in the morning. What a wonderful staycation and 30th anniversary celebration for us. We highly recommend staying at this beautiful boutique hotel. We are lucky to have such a lovey hotel in our town!

The room is very small, it was difficult to manage with 2 suitcases. You have to ask for the room to be cleaned and they didn't let us know during check-in, but they cleaned the room after we asked. Note that there is no elevator
