We stayed in a 1-bedroom suite, beach facing, with a large two person tub. The condo was a great size for the two of us. It had a small kitchen with dishes, pots & pans and a dishwasher. The appliances and condo were a bit outdated, but everything worked great & was clean. Our balcony faced the beach, so it was nice to see the sunset each night. The hot tub and pool were nice. The staff were friendly. This is a time-share property. We saw advertisements about purchasing a timeshare, but nobody ever confronted us about it, so that was nice. The price was great for the area and the amenities.

Like other reviews state, the bed is terribly uncomfortable. The mattress is very hard. We slept on top of pillows & extra blankets, which helped a little. The beach is right across the street, but the only access is going across a stairway bridge. There are 50-steps going up & 50-steps coming down…and you have to do it twice. Stairs are hard in my knees, so I only made the trek once. The beach is also very steep…and as the sign said, it can be dangerous. To avoid the stairs, you can access the parking lot at the beach by driving down the road & paying a parking fee.

The view and location of this property was incredible especially for the reasonable pricing! We were only there for 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer - we were already talking about when we would come back! We had never been to Dana Point and it is gorgeous! We didn’t have much time to explore all of their amenities but the pool and hot tub looked clean and inviting - plus they even let you rent out their own bikes and beach gear. The staff was very thorough, friendly and I felt they were more than accommodating. Our room also had the biggest bath tub I had ever seen, it was amazing! Thank you for a great stay and we will definitely be back soon.

The only inconvenience would be the elevators not operating past a certain time which I am sure it is for a valid reason.

I only have a complaint with Booking .com. After requesting Booking.com to change our checkout date (5 days before the check-in date) and Surfside Inn agreeing to change the check-out date, waive the cancellation fee and refund the money - Booking.com has; a week later, kept our money for the cancelled day. Surfside Inn has done everything to provide excellent customer service. I cannot say the same for Booking.com.

I absolutely love this resort. The location is central to both San Clemente and Dana Point. My kids enjoy playing pool. My kids enjoy the outside pool and hot tub. Although we didn’t use it this time, the bikes are always fun to rent.

The rooms felt a little more warm than usual. We were given a window air conditioning unit that helped my son in his room. I always travel with a fan and try to have as many windows open as possible. I feel as though the thermostat dropped lower on the air conditioning unit the past few years that we have stayed. This issue can be overlooked. I’ll just plan to bring more fans next time.

The room was nice and roomy ! Bathroom was a good size , just wish all rooms had bathtubs . Kitchen was a good size and loved the balcony with bbq was very nice !

A little too noisy with the Hwy and the train tracks being right out front . Wish the bottom floor had better view of ocean . Had problems with people on second floor stomping loud and kids running around and jumping . Very Loud in our room at 6;30 Am and 11:00 pm .

Everything was great

Upon arrival the front desk was so professional and very accommodating. Amanda answered all our questions and gave us useful information. Our stay was not overlooking the water like we asked and were told we had. The only complaint was the room smelled so musty the whole time. I even opened the windows and lit a candle, but it still had a musty odor.

This facility is a real hidden gem. They are so proactive on maintenance, service, amenities, cleanliness. The front desk reception is friendly and helpful, especially Lisa, who made our family feel welcome. We have used this place twice now, and we will use it again. The rooms are spacious and well appointed.

Everything was great!

The location, the staff, the free bike rentals and the free beach chairs were several of the things that made our stay wonderful. The free bikes and beach chairs were unexpected pluses to our plans and made the stay even more enjoyable.

Truly, there was nothing at the Capistrano Surfside Inn that we did not like. Not knowing what the Inn would be like other than the Booking.com information had us going in blind and hoping. Our expectations were exceeded.

Very accommodating staff, good location near San Juan Capistrano, Dana Pt and San Clemente. Easy access to beach. clean, comfortable with nice amenities. While it was cool for swimming in the pool or the ocean, we enjoyed the available bikes to ride to Dana Pt Marina. Kitchen equipped and adequate for meal prep. We would stay there again when in the area.

The kitchen layout was a little awkward with frig blocking some cabinets. Double tub awkward to get in and out of.

Best location right across from the beach. Property was meticulously maintained. Staff super friendly. Liked that you could sign out bikes or beach gear. Rooms were well stocked and large. Only downside was the bed. Not the worst but it definitely could be replaced as there are divots where others have slept. The sofa bed however was comfortable for my kids.
