The receptionist was very welcoming. She told us about a few good places to eat at but we were there for my husband's Christmas dinner party. Our room was very clean I was really impressed.The check in was a breeze and I love how convenient the parking lot was to our room. The view would have been better of the ocean, if it wasn't foggy and rainy the day we arrived, but that's nature for you. I would definitely tell my friends about Harbor View Inn.

My only complaint is that the walls are very thin, so you could hear your neighbors next door, snoring at night, coughing and talking. I could literally hear my neighbor having a conversation while I was in the bathroom and she was as well. That part didn't feel private. It would definitely be hard for someone who's a light sleeper.

The manager Printima met me when I arrived and very kindly offered me what was really their best possible room for my quiet preferences. She and another staff member, Tina, were extremely pleasant. The room was sparkling clean. Very basic facilities--and that is NOT a complaint. I had everything I needed and nothing extra. The layout of the room and bathroom was perfect. I appreciated the simplicity and loved the several seating options by the cute little bay window. View to beach, marina and ocean was great. Parking was excellent. Exterior of property very neat and well maintained, including the parking lot. Cafe "The Press" right next door was outstanding, available for breakfast and lunch. For dinner I went a few blocks down to an eclectic local grocery store called Spangler's which had a great deli counter. The best part of all was that I got this reservation at the last moment (day before the stay) and had such a wonderful experience.

The room was very cute! It was also clean and comfortable and the staff was kind and accommodating. .

The room came with an iron but not an ironing board. When we asked at the front desk, they were able to provide us with one, but it was a minor annoyance. The location is also generally fine, but you need to cross a major road in order to get to the water and most of the shops and restaurants in town.

Tina upgraded us to a room with a king-size bed, which was much appreciated and she was very friendly when we checked in. We liked the room's white and blue color scheme...not fussy, just cool and relaxing, and it was quiet. Water pressure was fine in the shower; our only negative would be the size of the bath towels...more suitable for children than adults. Matt was at the front desk in the morning when we checked out and he was also very pleasant and friendly. We would absolutely stay here again (and hope that new larger towels would be in place). Weren't able to make it onto the state beach due to the recent heavy rains creating a stream we would have had to cross. Visited Half Moon Bay's old Main Street and, based on recommendations of locals, went to J. Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. It was wonderful, with lovely walks through cypress and other trees to the beach access, where we visited tidepools and walked the beach itself. Beautiful area.

Bath towels too small!

Every member of the staff we spoke with was very helpful and accommodating. Easy to find location, updated room and bathroom. It was comfy, clean, and seemed like the rest of the rooms were in process of getting updated, too. We were happy with the room and location for the night as we drove down the coast - would stay here again.

Honestly for the price and location, I was very happy. The staff was great, and the updated rooms were nice. Don’t have anything bad to say! I think older reviews are out of date, as the room upgrades felt very well done.

Cute little Inn. It was exactly what I needed. Needed to get away by myself, and this was the place to do it. The price was right. The room was beautiful. A lot of food options close by. This is a place I would happily visit again.

Nothing the Inn can do about it, but being able to leave the windows open at night (one thing I love to do at night when by the ocean) was difficult, because of the proximity to Highway 1. I got over it, tho. Still loved my visit.

The room was spacious and very clean with everything you need (safe, fridge, tv). In both rooms (we stayed in a King and a Double Queen) you had an extra seating space. The bathroom was also clean and had lots of light, shower worked well and didn't leak at all. The bed was very comfy and linens were clean and smelled fresh. Also don't worry about being too close to the main road! The windows are amazing! We did not hear a single noise from outside. Tina at the front desk was very welcoming and was happy to share her favorite places to check out while staying in Half Moon Bay. Cleaning staff was also friendly and did a great job every day. We'll be very happy to stay here again.

Nothing to complain about. They're just doing a really good job here. We truly enjoyed our stay here at Harbor View Inn.

Beautiful room. Loved the view of the marina and the cozy fireplace. The sitting area and window seat was lovely. Great location, near the HMB brewery and marina and a great breakfast cafe and little market right next door. Less expensive than the Oceana.

The walls are thin! Through no fault of the hotel our next door neighbors were very loud and were having a roaring good time until about 2 am. Then could the snoring started. It was like a jet airplane. Finally, the pillows are very firm. Please offer a softer option. We both woke with terrible neck aches in the morning.

Nice, clean, quiet, safe room… I liked the location of the place. It is across PCH from the harbor - just fine, if you don’t need to be right in the middle of everything (and more expensive). …but close enough (to walk to). It was a good value.

Good location for SFO airport (about 30 minutes) and much nicer than an airport hotel. Rooms were spacious, bathroom well equipped with a good shower. Wifi worked fine. Friendly staff, no breakfast but decent coffee. Good size bed. Room fully equipped (microwave, useful fridge). Some nice restaurants across the street (the brewery is pretty OK).

Lighting: would be fine for an operating theater but far too strong for a bedroom. Couple of reading lights would already mitigate this. Four out of five pillows were rock hard. Make sure that each room has at least two medium soft pillow.
