We really enjoyed the Kimpton, it was a great way to top off our trip to California. The location was great, right across the road from Huntington Beach, and just one street away from Main. The room was fab - very spacious, a couple of armchairs and two very comfortable queen beds, the bathroom also very large. Complimentary beer and wine each evening between 5-6pm which was a nice touch, in the internal courtyard which was a lovely place to hang out in. The adjoining cafe and bar were really lovely, and the hotel provides beach chairs, towels and umbrellas for trips to the beach which was very welcome!

The only gripe is the terminology around Ocean View rooms online which is quite misleading. In fact the rooms only have an ocean view if you stand on one side of the small balcony and crane your head around the corner. They do have Ocean Front rooms which do more of what they say on the tin. Perhaps the Ocean Views should be renamed Partial Ocean View to alleviate any confusion. Our in-laws who we were travelling with had the same issue.

We have stayed here once before, which is what brought us back. The location is in the heart of downtown Huntington Beach, walking distance to everything. The hotel offers lots of amenities, such as free bike rentals, free surfboards, free beach chairs, beach towels umbrella and had a small igloo cooler in the room for your convenience to pack a beach lunch. The rooms are very clean, very very comfortable beds, a mini fridge with optional in-room snacks, and a good size workspace. The bathroom is roomy with a large soaking tub & a free standing shower and comfortable robes. The ocean front rooms have amazing views of the iconic Huntington Beach pier. The restaurant is on the lobby level with plenty of choices. The hotel also offers some social activities for guests. We will definitely be returning.

The only thing I can say I didn’t enjoy is the $45 parking garage fee. The garage is shared with public use. I feel that guests should get validation. Traffic noise can get loud being that the hotel is right on PCH.

Loved the location of the hotel.

We arrived early and the staff kept checking other customers in but not us. They stated our room was not ready. Which was understandable. But they kept checking others in and 38 minutes after check in and having to keep asking about our room was finally ready. We booked and paid quite a bit more for an oceanfront from. Room was disappointing as we had a side view if we stepped out on balcony..not worth the extra money.

Restaurant customer service was excellent! Very professional, friendly, and on top of all things. The food was delicious however, a little pricey. Happy hour was nice to enjoy a glass of wine. The facilities on level two was very nice and I enjoyed the exterior as well as the set up. Loved that my dog could join us, and there were no fees involved.

The front desk check-in process was very rushed, and he did not have good eye contact with us. Maybe he was trying to get off work. The facilities could be a little more touched up, has a lot of scratches and where in tear could be seen in the rooms, in the lobby, etc. Pricing for car parking was outrageous. I ended up parking a block over to avoid the charges.

The Shorebreak Hotel boasts an unparalleled location, mere steps from the iconic Huntington Beach Pier and just off Pacific Coast Highway, placing us in the heart of the action. While our initial room assignment was unfortunately not usable upon arrival, the hotel manager promptly addressed the situation and relocated us to another room. Our room featured a comfortable layout with a distinct seating area separate from the bedroom, and a spacious bathroom. A unique amenity was the inclusion of a turntable stereo, accompanied by a selection of vinyl records available in the lobby for guests' listening pleasure. A key factor in our hotel choice was its dog-friendly policy, a welcome feature for travelers with canine companions. The proximity to Huntington Dog Beach and the prevalence of dog-friendly establishments in the area further enhanced the appeal. While we did not have the opportunity to dine at the hotel's bar/bistro, its popularity was evident.

While the configuration of our room (402) provided ample space for both sleeping and relaxing, the advertised "Garden View" was unfortunately obscured by a climbing wall directly outside the window. Additionally, the window's placement primarily illuminated the bedroom area, leaving the separate seating area quite dim. This necessitated the use of artificial lighting throughout the day, which somewhat detracted from the overall ambiance.

The location, the vibe and atmosphere of the lobby, courtyard, and room and restaurant/bar. Loved the casual, retro and hip decor and ambience. Turntable and vintage albums were icing on the cake! Location adjacent to the beach and in the center of town was perfect. As a solo traveler I felt very safe and welcomed! Free bikes and beach gear were double delights! Staff was very patient, friendly and accommodating. Valet service and staff were AWESOME. The restaurant service and food quality were beyond expectations. Seafood tacos AMAZING!

One staff member left me underwhelmed and disappointed on a consistent basis. Attitude was very stand offish and treated me like I was bothering her. I had to constantly pull info from her. But the rest of the staff made up for these off-putting encounters. Also, your staff wasn't up on proactively telling me about all the great amenities, like the free bikes and beach gear upfront, social hour and coffee, and how the album system worked. I completely understand that it was an extremely busy time with the US Open of Surfing preps. The staff was really busy on a constant basis.

We spent the night to celebrate our son's 13th bday. We were welcomed with mini cheesecakes that my son assumed were for him and felt special. The room Was big and worth it. The hotel itself, beautiful. And it was literally across the street from the pier!! My husband and I agreed we would be returning us two to take advantage of the hotel bar and city. The jarritos was a nice touch for the kids !

FYI, if you have young kids, the snacks in the room readily available to the kids as a temptation. And they are pricey! And something to know is that the rooms do not come with microwaves.

Friendly and helpful staff. The accommodations were great and added value with all the items that could be borrowed and utilized to enjoy the beach. We were able to walk to the beach and many enjoyable shopping and food experiences that were close to the property.

The only thing that was a bummer was the view and noise of traffic from the room. My big goal in booking an ocean view room was to sit on the balcony and enjoy ocean views, sounds, and breezes. The ocean view from the room I booked was meh, the main view was a home under construction and the sounds of the traffic were louder than the sounds of the ocean.

location was great, restaurant food and Cocktails amazing ! your bartender knows their stuff. We had so much fun drinking and playing foosball and ping pong and corn hole and roasting s'mores that we never made it to the beach lol. We will Definatelhy be back !! Thank you so much !!

next time i think i would either like a beachfront room or one on the inside. There are a lot of loud cars and motorcycles zooming around the area so keep that in mind when booking your room if your a light sleeper. The beds were a little firm for me. The chips to snack on in the room were very hard. i would replace them more often or with a different brand. I took my one son and daughter in law and we had a ball,, Im not sure how my other son and his future wife would enjoy it as there were not many if any Vegan options on the menus i saw (both dinner and brunch) But the location is great and i know i will be back for sure

Great location, great trendy hotel with lots of extras and services provided, the rooms and beds are comfortable, and the food in the restaurant is great too. Although you do pay for the extra services via a daily resort fee of $40, which is ok if you take advantage of them and we did, for the beach, evening smores round the fire pit, and scooters and bikes.

Parking charge, I just find with the room rate, daily resort fee, and taxes and admin charges, that the additional $45 per day to park is unnecessary.
