It’s newly renovated and my room had lots of white marble. My room looked out on the ocean. Down below, waves could be seen rolling in a wedge opening by steps. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There is an expensive(is there any other kind in this area?)restaurant and bar overlooking the water. Live music in the evening in an outdoor courtyard. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The location, while on the beach, is not central and not within walking distance of the “fun” part of Laguna. I would have had to drive to reach it. My room was in the seaview section. To get to the bar or restaurant, I had to either walk through a staff area where they were setting up for a wedding, or walk through the restaurant or through the pool area. Getting to my room was confusing. The walkway faced a rather ugly mostly staff work area. Overall, it seemed very expensive and paying $65 to park overnight seems really extravagant. Rooms are almost $1000 a night. I would find a less expensive and better located place in Laguna should I be back in the area.

the keurig machine was DISGUSTING. we poured water in there and saw floating transparent build up. they pretend like to my clean their remotes by placing them into a cloth bag, but it was so nasty. these are small things but it makes you think of what else isn’t being actually cleaned (like they claim)

Our 5 day stay was amazing! The staff, the food, the massages, the pool guys, gift shop, the valet, and Oscar the server to my meals in my room were ALL 💯! I wish I would have stayed longer than 5 days. I would recommend this place to anyone. We also caught a 150 lb bluefin tuna 75 miles off Catalina island. Ask the concierge for assistance. Tell her you want the same boat Luv and Tom took! ( or fbk me at Luv Lee Russell- Denver Co. I just can’t say enough about this place… 5 ⭐️ for sure! Perfect vaca! You have to experience the place yourself. I would return in a heartbeat.❤️

Food /drink prices. Pet deposit was high. No designated place for my dogs to urinate and poop.

A wonderful boutique hotel. Felt luxurious and special without being pretentious. The concierge staff gave great advise on dining and activity options suited to our family. The front desk and other hotel staff were friendly and super helpful. The location is excellent, about 10 minutes on the free Laguna trolleys to the main downtown area. And there were also good options for food and exploring around the hotel. Loved hearing the waves crashing and sitting on the balcony - we saw dolphins and sea lions from our room! Beach and pool staff were very helpful too.

We wished there was a bigger pool but we still enjoyed it.

The location was great. Walkable to restaurant and amenities. The view was beautiful.

The room was very very dated. The carpet was disgusting and the bathroom was old and the tile countertops were gross and dated. The hot tub was disgusting, kids went in and i dipped my legs. Debris on bottom with so much sand. Thinking they would clean by next day…NOPE same straws on bottom and full of sand. Yuck. Not having a beach was a bummer. We took trolley to the beach by Montage.

Location was excellent , right on the beach. The front desks receptionists and pool employees were really really nice and supportive.

The hotel needs refurbishment. It is really old, the carpet in the room very old and dirty. In the breakfast restaurant it was dark and in fact it was positioned in a lobby for tourists to go to the pool at the first floor with a bad smell of chlorine on the way. The pool was very crowded and with a public pool feeling.

there is so much to love. the location and charm make this my favourite place to stay in Laguna. the location is ... transformational. watch the dolphins pass, lounge by the pool, have a well made drink, enjoy the spa. it's a holiday.

it needs some renovation/work )imagine it's hard to keep a place so close to the sea looking super shiny). the spa steam was broken - I think given the prices here it would be good to give some add ons to treatment or something when that happens. still--- the place is magic and the spa facilities delivered.

Where do I start. Firstly I cannot write this review without giving a huge shout out to Sandra who is one of the lovely staff at Surf and Sand Resort - she made our trip extra special and sent some wine and cheese up to our room and also booked Nobu for us which was incredible as it was impossible to get a booking otherwise. As soon as we walked in I felt like a celebrity. We were greeted with amazing staff on the front desk, they upgraded our room with a small fee which was so worth it. Without even going into the Hotel itself the staff make it the most amazing experience. This Hotel is the only one on Laguna beach which is on the sea front, you can hear the waves crashing - our room was right on the water. The food in the Hotel was impeccable, you seriously need to try the breakfast burrito & French toast - OMG! On our first night we went for dinner and the food and cocktails were insane! I would seriously go back every year to this Hotel if I could. Excited to visit again! It is always fully booked so we were so lucky to have got a room! The best Hotel I have visited for sure! also the pool was incredible !

The view is amazing! Getting to the beach was easy. Everything you need was easy to acquire.

I would like a variety of options for food. It was the same menu at all food venues except the coffee spot

My favorite hotel! It’s the perfect hotel for a staycation! Ken helped with my check in when there was slight confusion. He was professional, kind and resolved issue with ease. Thank you for a great stay! Coming back next week!!!
