Location is amazing. You have ocean view from some of the rooms and from their common/ bar/ reaxing area. Also, you can walk down to a small beach in 2 minutes. The rooms are very nicely and tastefuly decorated. I like the vinyls in all of their rooms. The breakfast/ bar area has a very good vibe. The seatngs and lounges at the pool are very comfortable and they are not pushed too close to each other. Also the staff was really helpful, kind and attentive.

Minor issue bit the heater was not working in our room. The rooms can be quite cold at night in December and a working heater would have been nicw. We ended up buying a small portable heater so after that we were truly enjoyed our room! And they said they will fix the heater.

I have stayed at Hotel Joaquin multiple times while visiting family in the area. It is always such a pleasure staying here. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The staff are so friendly and have great suggestions. The breakfast and lunch are excellent (I love having the morning coffee delivered to my room!). They often have music and movies in the evening. Also the location is great. It is within walking distance to the beach, many restaurants as well as downtown Laguna. The vibe is much more intimate and peaceful than larger hotels in the area.

My husband and I had such a great time here. Our favorite part was their garage full of items to take out to the beach, wish we had stayed longer! Very clean and well maintained, different than your regular stay. We were met with cocktails, they brought us coffee in the morning, and we took out the e bikes for breakfast, couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

We were in room barto and you could see our bed from the back parking lot with the blinds shut, and the patio door didn’t lock. We would stay here again but in a different suite.

The grounds are beautiful and quiet. Even with rooms somewhat filled, it did not feel like a crowded hotel. Our room La Vue had a stunning oceanview and was setup in a way to maximize enjoyment of the view. We loved putting on a record (such a fun touch) and watching the sunset with a delicious cocktail from the cozy bar we brought to our room from the common area lounge. The lounge and pool are fantastic and we loved having a delicious breakfast every morning and a drink at in the afternoon or at night in these spaces. Everything is beautiful decorated and manicured. Staff was super friendly and attentive.

It is crazy expensive for a weekend stay. The grounds and rooms and staff are truly exceptional and lovely. But for almost $600 you expect extreme luxury. The bed wasn't that comfortable, the shower had bad water pressure, and there was a slight odor in the bathroom from what I assume is just old pipes. I think the price point would be fairer at $400. Maybe even $350. I know it's an expensive town, but paying $1,300 for two nights is pretty excessive, even if they were two great nights. I probably wouldn't come back unless the price was closer to $400.

The location is in a nice spot above Laguna Downtown, which gives the perfect excuse to walk down along the trail beside the beach and enjoy the view. It is close to Shaw's Cove, so a view is available from the hotel. A record player is available in the room and I love the style of the hotel. It is boutique, earthy, and in a nature ambient. Love every single design element in its style and enjoyed a wonderful stay. The staff is chill and helpful. They provided me with a welcome cocktail and it is tasty. It comes with breakfast in the morning, and it is absolutely delicious. There is nothing I don't like.

Layout of hotel was great. Room was very nice. Staff was great.

Pillows were the kind that over-flatten to nothing. Coffee service in morning was hit or miss. Did not receive any coffee first morning. Received right stuff second day. Received wrong cream third morning. Received no cream fourth morning. Very weird. Breakfast service was not perfect either, but understandable because of the holidays. We appreciated the service.

Hotel Joaquin is part of a group of boutique hotels. They have an amazing attention to detail, coffee and tea brought to your room hung on a hook by your door in a thermos. Binoculars left so you can look at the ocean, record players in each room, unique items that make it feel special. The property is small but quaint and the staff is absolutely amazing. You almost feel like you are staying with friends that have a house on the beach.

The beginning of my stay wasn’t as great as the room that I booked was not the room I was given. It was a mistake on the hotel’s end. I was only able to get a similar room one day after one day of stay due to them being sold out. However, the staff was very apologetic and they offered compensation for it. Overall, an amazing hotel with amazing views. Great location. Apart from the room hiccup, I had a great time staying at this hotel

It was tastefully decorated and made you feel so relaxed and spoiled in the best way at the beach. Each staff member from the moment we checked in were extremely welcoming and kind. We loved the record player in the room and the library of records to choose from in the shared lounge, the movie night right in front of the bar, and the beautiful breakfast prepared for you overlooked the property and beyond to the ocean in the morning. We cannot wait to visit again and stay longer.

Most comfortable bed, love to details, record player, coffee in bed in the morning, welcome drink, breakfast included, heated pool, nice feel from design to smells and music always playing in the background, good location for walks along the coast and swims at Shaws Cove.
