We loved the retro vibe of the Tides. The place very warm and welcoming. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The location was walkable to everywhere we wanted to go. It's an older hotel but very clean and comfortable. We didn't use it, but there is a nice pool area with a fireplace, comfy seating for a group, pool toys for families, etc.

It wasn't a problem for us because we did not bring a car and planned to walk everywhere, but the parking lot is small and would have been a challenge if we had arrived in our suburban. There is a guest book in the room and someone mentioned coming back late at night and not being able to find a place in the lot to park. My recommendation, unless you are traveling on a road trip, would be to leave the car at home and don't rent one if you can manage it.

Clean; friendly and helpful staff. Our room had an ocean view, balcony with two chairs, and kitchenette. The kitchenette was larger than I expected and well-stocked with utensils, plates, glasses, coffee maker, and a full-size fridge. There was a big closet and plenty of hangers. The beds were comfy. The room was stocked with extra bath towels. Convenient location - walking distance to the beach. Ask for beach towels, chairs, and umbrella! Parking is on-site and included. A 4-min walk to Endless Quest coffee, Grazie Grazie pizza, and Pavilions grocery store. 12-ish minute walk to the main part of town. I didn't end up using the pool but it looked really clean. All of their rooms are different so I would go to their site to see which rooms are available. I would stay here again!

My only minor comment is that the shower was a little small, might be tough if you are tall. Water pressure was good though!

I had a fantastic stay! Although we only spent one night, we are already planning to return to this place. The staff was amazing, and their communication was impeccable. The city was in the process of making repairs, which meant we would be without power from 9 PM to 4 AM. However, the staff notified us a couple of days in advance via email. When we checked in, the staff reminded us again about the power outage and provided us with a couple of cute lanterns for use during that time. We also received a handwritten thank you card in our room, which we really appreciated as it showed their caring gestures. Our room was perfect and clean, and we definitely plan to return. We enjoyed walking to the beach, and there were plenty of eateries not too far from the hotel.

Property location is near all the restaurants and dew steps away from the beach. We have our well behaved cat with us and they let us stay even if they only let dogs. It was nice 🥰 The man at the reception was outstanding! He is very nice and so helpful, no complaints!

Room is nice and spacious, but it’s really hard to have a good sleep as you can hear all the water pipes from the rooms beside and above us, (our room was in the ground floor) you can hear when they flush the toilet and showering. I wonder if they can invest in sound proofing. It would be great!

This is our 3rd time to The Tides, we chose it primarily due to the close proximity to our son’s apartment. It is perfectly located in easy reach of Heisler Park, Main Beach and the town - all in a few mins walk. The best part is the swimming pool - very clean, with plenty of sun loungers.

It has no sound proofing whatsoever. We could hear every noise our neighbours made. Every noise. So that means they could also hear us!!! This time we were on 2nd floor, the previous two times we were on the ground level and it didn’t seem to be as bad then. It could also do with a spruce up, a little tatty inside the room with paint peeling on the ceiling and old curtain rail mounts still left in place. Also, there were no glasses for drinks and only 2 small cups for the Keurig coffee maker.

We enjoyed our stay at the Tides. For a stay over New Years Eve we were surprised at the price of the room, especially because it included parking for free and there was no resort fee so what they charged is what you paid. The location is amazing and were were able to walk all around the main part of Laguna which is full of restaurants, interesting shops and art galleries. There was easy access to the main beach as well as Cressant Cove that has good snorkeling. The room was quite large and the bed was very comfortable. It has lots of period charm with high ceilings and 1950s tiles. They provided ear plugs but we thought it was very quiet after 8 pm. PCH was suddenly very quiet, and we slept very well. The hotel was full but we didn't hear much from our neighbors.

The staff are lovely and truly care about their property. It feels like a home away from home. The pool is warm, the bbq is hot and the poolside seating is welcoming. Cleaning staff are attentive and welcoming. The front desk staff are very kind and helpful. It’s a 10 minute walk to downtown Laguna Beach and all the amenities. We will definitely return.

This is a PCH motel so if you are expecting a resort it is exactly what it looks like. You will hear cars. The motel has been here a long time so it is quaint and not swanky. It’s perfect if you are looking for a nice spot to stay for a while.

The hotel is in a perfect area for exploring by foot- beach, coffee, restaurant, shops. We loved the room. The destination plates in the dining room were great conversation pieces and fun to look at during meals and downtime. Our kids were desperate to use the pool but unfortunately it was very rainy while we were there. We agreed we would all love to come back another time! The staff was very accommodating and helped make sure we were able to do a late check in when our travels got delayed a bit. All in all, an incredible stay!

easy access to Laguna Trolley. Very friendly and Helpful staff. Comfortable beds. Plenty of extra towels and wash cloths. Nice dishes and glasses and coffee with cream. Reading material available. We didn't stay long enough to enjoy the nice pool. Front porch with adirondack chairs was adorable. Very Nice landscaping provided privacy from PCH.

parking was tricky so we just parked once and took trolley everywhere. No iron in room but we did have a hair dryer. :)

Location was great. We walked everywhere. There was a microwave and a small refrigerator which was very helpful to keep drinks and snacks. They also had a Keurig coffee maker and cups. The room was black and white decor with splashes of red. Very pretty. Staff told us all the rooms have a different theme. Very nice staff; pleasant and helpful. Pool area was well maintained and had both sun and shade (we wanted shade). There was a bbq and a bar area with stools also a fireplace with a conversation area. Room AC was wonderful after the unusual heat in Laguna Beach
