Fantastic view across the Salinas River. Watch the birds, lots of pelicans flying by.. even spotted a couple of sea otters one morning. Nice and Quiet. Very close, walking distance, to Moss Landing whale watching and boat tourism. Bed very comfortable. Bath was nice but took a while to fill because it is a big tub. I really enjoyed my stay in this cute little place and would love to come back one day. This is a unique place, and I am so glad I chose to stay here rather than somewhere more modern and slick.
It would really help to have a small fridge in the room, one would fit in the room under the coffee machine. Going up and down the stairs to fetch ice to keep my drinks cold was a bit of a pain. Also no filtered water was available, and bottled water couldn’t be kept cold without walking to the shared space for ice. There is a central fridge but it isn’t very convenient, you aren’t staying in a youth hostel. Be prepared to lug your stuff up the stairs, there is no one around to help. It was ok for me, but if you need help then don’t stay on the second floor. Also, please put instructions for operating the LG tv remote in your room book.. I had to download the instruction manual from the internet!

Historical building beautifully furnished with period pieces and artful comfy nooks amd corners. Photos from the history of the bldg and people who inhabited it. Lovely views, quiet, surrounded by nature. I felt safe and pampered in the comforts of my accommodation.
The morning fare was limited to refined, sugary carbs. It would be nice to have some fresh, whole grain bread and butter with jam. I liked the coffee machine in the kitchen and in the room, but it would be nice to have more selection and higher quality coffee. I ended up making my own drip coffee which I brought with me just in case. Upon tasting the coffee provided. Also- a nice touch would be to provide real half amd half in the fridge instead of the little single portion “half and half” cups that don’t require refridgeration. Taste is totally different.

We love staying here because the views are amazing and the Sail Away room is so romantic!! So much wildlife to see. The innkeeper made us feel special by sharing a glass of bubbly with us when we arrived. Coffee in the room was delicious to sip as we gazed out the large windows at the view. We will definitely be back!
Only drawback is that there is not much to do that’s within walking distance.

Amazing location, close to nature, wildlife, beaches, restaurants, cafes Convenience: kitchen, spacious apartment Great view from the deck Nice welcome package with snacks and sweets
Check in was at 4:00 and check out at 10:00 - that felt quite stingy compared with the standard 3:00 check in and 11:00-12:00 check out There was a hair in the bathroom - yuck! Not only the check out was outrageously early, we were asked to leave all the dishes washed - is this a hotel or an AirBnB?

No breakfast provided. This was a lovely quaint hotel, with a comfortable bed and charming decor. The bathroom was sufficient and very clean as well. Overall, this is a lovely little hotel, and I loved the main building stay.
The only difficulty was with the TV, and it's reluctance to engage initially. Also, it would be great if the hotel offered breakfast or at least freshly brewed coffee for guests in the morning.

Beautiful quiet location, views of the marshlands. Can watch the birds and otters from living room and balcony. The apartment Dock Holiday is very well laid out, and enough furniture for a comfortable stay.
Check in time is too late at 4 pm. Check out time too early at 10 am. Even though, over the phone, they told me that I could check in at 3 pm, and the cleaning crew had already cleaned the apartment, the entry code was not set when we reached the place at 3.30 pm.

Moss Landing seems to be an area under transition, so there is a lot of variety here. There are some good restaurants very near by and also some unoccupied old buildings. The nearby harbor has boats of every description and every condition. The decor of this property well reflects the nautical history of the area. We really liked Moss Landing for these reasons. The nearby Elkhorn Slough Reserve is a treasure and we really recommend going there. It was the reason for our visit. BTW we watched Sea Otters from our room—get a river view unit!

Owner was very kind, made sure we had everything we needed. Location was beautiful, very close to the beach. Lots to do in the area if you have a car, not much within walking distance. Rooms were clean and comfortable
It is an older building, so rooms can be a bit noisy sometimes

Loved the location, the balconies for sitting outside, the nicely appointed furnishings, the cleanliness. I wanted to be away from the hubbub of Monterey and this was perfect. Loved exploring Elkhorn slough and enjoyed a couple of the eateries nearby (Sea Harvest and the Power Plant Coffee/plant shop), and also just being so close to beach access.

This place is great for anyone trying to get away. It’s peaceful, clean, and a historic building. I enjoyed walking the premises of the building. Grounds are kept immaculate and provide a great environment. Will definitely return with family or friends that come visit California.
