The Moxy is a boutique hotel with its own vibe. You have to love it. The location was excellent, on the border of the San Diego Gaslamp Quarter. Breakfast is very limited, but there are plenty of restaurants in the area where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast.

The rooms are relatively small. Good bed and nice bathroom, but no wardrobes, no mini fridge and a very small desk that is not really suitable for working on a laptop. The first night I had a room at the front. It was awful, noisy not only because of the traffic but mainly because of the comedy club and disco opposite the hotel. The other five nights I had a room at the back. It was a whole different world.

Such a great vibe from the moment you are greeted by valet to registration being in the bar and giving you welcome cocktails. Wish we had time to check out the speakeasy!! The retro vibe is everything!

Only thing missing here is a mini fridge and coffeemaker in the rooms. The rooms are tiny, but, so well thought out that we didn’t even mind. You can pick up the retro phone to hear bedtime stories at night. Peg hooks on the wall with peg hook hangers instead of a closet. Beds were comfortable. Great location. We had a blast! Stayed here for a concert at Petco… so close that we walked.

The staff is great. Location excellent. Rooms are cozy.

Housekeeping opened my door at 9am while I was undressed out of the shower. Then about (30) minutes later they came back knocking. That’s never happened before and I was not thrilled. If check out time is set then I should not be bothered before then. And I should never have been walked in on like that. I love this place when I have work in town and I hope that never happens again.

The position is absolutely central: the hotel is located in the GASLAMP quarter, the heart of San Diego downtown. The common spaces are comfortable and wide, richly and elegantly furnished with many large sofas; there is a bar 24/24 hours open at the entrance where you can get hot water for the night or whatever you need. Many elevators, very quickly, serve the floor. The hotel doesn’t have free parking but it has a valet parking service, a little bit expensive (65 dollars per day) but really comfortable with staff made by kind and polite guys. The room is large enough to receive two big luggages: it is furnished newly and is very clean; also the bathroom is new. The illumination has been thought accurately. But the added value for the hotel is the staff: during our stay (one night), we had a problem with the flight company, who cancelled our flight for New York just 7 hours before the departure. This situation caused many problems we have forced to find a speedy solution to: the staff helped us to manage the contact with the flight company and printed us all the documents requested for the new flight, which later have been decisive at the security control with the officer at the airport of San Diego. In particular, from the staff of the hotel, Maddy helped us without esitation.

The Moxy was fun place to stay in. The hotel was vibrant, eclectic and friendly. My daughter and I stayed for her 21st birthday. The staff were very welcoming, friendly, and very polite. The location was centrally located to all the bars and restaurants in the Gaslamp. We will consider staying there every time we visit San Diego.

The bed wasn’t very comfortable.

The staff was very nice. The atmosphere was inviting. This was the first time I've traveled alone, and stayed in a hotel alone, and I felt very comfortable. The rooms had everything you need. The design was refreshing.

The bed. My only complaint is that the bed was very hard. I preferred lush, .fluffy mattresses that usually accompany a hotel room. This one reminded me of sleeping on a sofa couch....with less spring.

This was our second time staying there and it was even better than the first time! Luis, the manager checked us in and made us feel so welcome. He noticed it was my birthday month and gave me an extra two complementary drinks. The staff is wonderful. We found a little hidden gem in the hotel this time.

I just don't like the fact that parking is $65 a day. That really hinders my wallet with an extra $130 in fees.

Loved everything about the Moxy! Upon walking in, the vibe is amazing. Cute bar, fun table games everywhere, and there is even a little convenient store inside that is available 24/7. Our room was perfect - clean, AC worked amazing, and the shower was my favorite part! The blackout curtains were a nice touch as well, almost over slept because it was so dark in the room - felt like a Vegas room. We stayed in this location mainly because we had reservations for dinner at the Melting Pot. It was literally a 2 minute walk, it was perfect. This will be my go-to hotel for any trips in gaslamp!

The one bed room was a tad small, but perfect for two people. My next stay I believe I'll reserve the two queen bed room for a little more space.

property was cute, lots of restaurants, close to Petco stadium and night life around. HOWEVER, be aware there was A LOT of bums around. Hotel was very cute and Modern & Staff was great! Also Free welcome drink for each guest!

little pricey for such a small room. no parking on property. and if you self park it’s a block or two over. valet will cost you an extra $54 a night. Bums EVERYWHERE on each block.

This is my second time staying at this hotel and I really liked it. I think the rooms are a bit too small but it served its purpose. The employees are very friendly. I really liked the vibe. Different from other hotels.

I completely forgot that staying at this hotel and getting a room on a busy street with noise from the pedicab drivers' loud music, as well as the loud cars and motorcycles racing by really all hours of the night. Unfortunately, this would be a reason I wouldn't stay here anymore. It was really hard to fall asleep.
