I booked a private room for two. I didn't mind sharing the bathroom facilities aside from the times it was super busy and I had to wait a while for either one of them to be available. I'm glad there was a kitchen available for use as it made reheating my food easy. The location was pretty great as it was not far at all from where I needed to go and a small grocery store nearby.

As mentioned in my last comment, having to share a bathroom was not ideal at certain points, but besides that, it wasn't too bad. Also, having the kitchen Closed until 8a is not necessarily ideal but I guess I can understand if they are trying to make sure "quiet hours" are taken into account for such a communal space.

Excellent location right by the action. Hostel manager very helpful with change to reservation; A/C in the room a necessity. I was fortunate to sleep on the 4th floor this go-round, which was quite insulated from the outside noise. Great customer base, too--I was too tired to socialize, but there were friendly internationals making plans and flirting.

It's a bit of a party area, so lower levels are quite noisy. High-floor rooms are mostly insulated from the noise. Bunks are nothing special, bare bones. Only 2 toilets and showers per floor, but they are separated (i.e., four people can use the facilities at a time per floor)

The experience at Lucky D's was beautiful becuase of all of the lovely travelers I met. That was the highlight of my stay. The staff and travelers were respectful, open hearted and lovely. The second highlight is the amazing artistry and creativity of the space. I love walking up the stairs and seeing a large portrait of the GREAT Jimmy Hendrix. Thank you for putting so much thoughtfulness into this beautiful, magical space.

The room was severely cold and there was no way to feel warm. The top covering did not offer much warmth. Please offer a heater or warmer blankets.

Lucky D’s is out of its league as a hostel. As in it’s created a league of its own by outstanding operation. It would be wrong to mention one staff person because there is a definite homogenous awesomeness going on within the inner workings of this wonderful place to stay. What did somebody send all of the staff to an amazing intensive customer service training? Nope. It’s all charisma and humanity. You can barely tell if the staff is on duty or not they treat every question and every approach with dignity and positivity. This doesn’t mean that every staff member is wearing a smile… 24/7 but they are attentive problem solvers, spot on. Besides the events that they have preplanned, you can turn a corner and find someone fixing a bike or giving hairdo‘s or throwing down weekend waffles and more. So yes, stay at Lucky D’s and find out about a Hostel that defines a new level of greatness. Cheers.

Excellent location and price. Very clean restrooms, sink room, and showers. Never ran out of toilet paper, always able to find an open restroom and shower.

Room tended to be hot until all roommates agreed to keep the windows open. Not sure why it was so hot, as weather was not hot outdoors. Beds were adequate, but mattresses could be better. Common areas are limited. Kitchen opens at 8 am which is a little late, but sometimes able to enter earlier.

I liked very helpful people in the reception available 24-hours. The room (single) was quite modest but sufficient (private fridge available). . Restrooms/showers are comfortable and taken care of. All other facilities (kitchen, laundry, ironing, bicycle rent) are in place. Last but not least I liked the old rock'n'roll atmosphere with the photos of Jimmi Hendrix, the Beatles, the Doors etc.

The air conditioner was a bit clumsy and noisy.

I am in love with place. The vibrant colors of the walls are so beautiful. The classic rock artist posters and photos seriously amazing I walked the hall admiring all the art. Did I say I loved this place? Had Roku and apps in the room so I got to watch some tv. Everything was so clean, so clean. The room was nice and they give you the GOOD pillows. The shower was also quite amazing. My mom and I caught ourselves just leaving the door ajar because it felt like home. It wasn’t noisy at all it was actually very quiet. They had faint music playing and I loved that. I can’t wait to come again and bring my daughter she loves classic rock. Literally 10/10

I liked everything, I only needed to leave a 20 dollar cash to be able to get the key to the main entrance and the room, but I was not notified before, so I had to look for an ATM, there is one inside the Hostel but when I tried to withdraw money it stopped working, so take at least 20 dollars in cash or card for withdrawal.

Room was clean, bed was comfy, the price was a great deal, the location was great, mainly because of its proximity to Petco Park, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I'll definitely stay here in the future.

There were a couple rude women blasting music and videos in the internet room until almost 2 am and it could be heard loud and clear from inside of my room. A decent amount of noise outside after the Padres game until around midnight, but that's a given in a downtown area like that. Neither of those things were the hostel's fault, so they won't affect the score.

Very good location. Friendly staff, clean toilets, showers, kitchen.

The window in my room didn't lock, I had to put a bottle underneath to fix it. ) Expensive parking on weekends and holidays or there just isn't a space.
