Large bedroom (larger than usual) with nice shower, walking distance to the convention center, plenty of restaurants around, staff at the reception (Oscar) was very friendly and did all he could to make it a good stay

It is right across from bars on 5th, and they even provide earplugs (nice but unfortunate), so you can only hope to get or move to a room on the 4th or 5th floors. There was no daily housekeeping, so the hotel ends up feeling like an Airbnb; there are no amenities other than a vending machine. The furnishing is very industrial, so it doesn’t have a cozy feel.

Stayed here for almost a week for a conference in town and wanted to not pay too much. I felt compelled to write this review because there are a fair few negative reviews online and I understand the hotel appeared on Ramsey's Hotel Hell some years ago... however, my experience was top notch. Of course it isn't the Ritz but it is brilliant value for money. The staff are lovely, the rooms have a certain charm in how eccentric they are. The shower was quality and everyone couldn't do enough for me during the stay. Cannot speak highly enough of the place, it is neatly tucked into the main area of town but is secure and about half the price of everywhere else. My room was very spacious, great bed, shower, two sinks, toilet and desk, was just what I needed and the wifi was also good. Netflix and many other channels already logged in. Don't believe all you read with the negative reviews of this place. If you can deal with basic but good quality then this is a good spot.

Nothing, all good. Noise perhaps a little loud on the weekend at night but I think this would be the same anywhere you stay.

The room was very big and spacious. The location was very ideal. There were several shops in the area if you need food. There are also supermarkets nearby. It was just walking distance from the conference venue and I enjoyed walking in the neighborhood. The staff were very nice and helpful. They will help you out if there is anything you need and would also recommend places to eat at.

The arrangement/layout of the room was a bit weird since there was no door to the shower which was located at the corner of the room. It felt like a bed was placed in the middle of the bathroom. The shelves were not the regular design that I found it hard to use. But that is only if I'm being picky. Otherwise, my stay was pleasant.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The check-in process was smooth and well-organized. The location in the Gaslamp Quarter was ideal - right in the heart of San Diego, with numerous restaurants and entertainment options nearby. The room itself was comfortable and clean, and the provided WiFi worked well throughout my stay. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hassle-free stay in downtown San Diego!

Breakfast options near the hotel were superb. Many good choices. When we checked in, we were asked if street noise would be a problem. When we said we wanted quiet, we were given a room in the upper back of the building. No noise at all. The staff at the front desk was friendly and very helpful. Gave good recommendations for places to eat and things to do.

The hotel is minimal and very comfortable. Another reviewer said it was quirky in a positive way; I completely agree.

The location was good and the hotel was historic! The room was large, comfortable and not very expensive. The style of the room was modern but like an industrial kitchen sink... Note: To see yourself in the mirror you have to close the bathroom door( the mirror is hidden if you travel alone in case you do not bother closing the bathroom door you may not find the tall mirror!)

I expected a hotel but it was more an Airbnb than a hotel. Upon check-in, I got a code to enter the establishment and the room. There was no one at 6 pm in the reception or at the door. I was always worried that someone follow me and that there were a lot of homeless people in the area and some looked aggressive. Once during 4-night stays, I saw security and twice a reception otherwise no one. There was a smell of gas in the hotel and elevators but not in my room but some guests complained their room was smelly. There was no safe in the room. The closet wasn't very functional. Not enough hangers... No water bottles in the room nor any type of glasses... You don't know even where to put your toothbrush or soap in... No box of tissues.

This hotel was amazing. The concierge/hotel staff Alex and Oscar were absolutely phenomenal. They checked-in with me each morning to see if I needed anything. It was one of the best stays I've had. The price was more than competitive, I felt like it was a steal. I will absolutely 💯 be staying there again.

Parking which isn't their fault but their recommendations of spot hero was on point. Saved me $20 a night.

This hotel is quirky in the best possible way. It had modern-minimalist vibe. A very comfortable bed. Great price. Great location. Oscar was wonderful.

However, it does have some things worth mentioning, e.g. no shower door or maid service during our five day stay. no water cup?

The location is unbeatable if you want to hang around the Gaslamp Quarter, going to the Petco Park or the Convention Center. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff is extremely helpful and polite. The noise is a downside of it, but overall I would totally stay here again.

I had trouble signing in and entering the hotel on the first day when I arrived. The issue took about 1hr or so to solve it and then I got entry into the hotel and room. The messaging interface on booking.com needs to be better.
