Excellent location, and the hotel is very comfortable. The room is impeccably clean, maintained twice daily, and the restaurant is fantastic with terrific staff..

We experienced an inconvenience with the overnight staff as they lock the restrooms at midnight and do not allow access. The lady at the front desk on a couple of nights was very rude when we asked her to unlock the restroom for us, and she refused in an unfriendly manner. This situation is completely unreasonable.

The hotel and rooms are stunning! I upgraded my room which was amazing. The bed was big and comfortable, the room had a luxurious touch. The bathroom was large and luxurious. I truly enjoyed my stay.

The bedroom was a bit cold in the morning as the night was surprisingly cold. But there is an absolute nothing I did not like.

The room was spacious and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was very nice indeed. Hotel staff go out of their way to know who you are and support your needs at the hotel, not matter how small or large.

The Hotel has little control over this but the downtown area in SD is not as nice as it used to be. I'll leave it at that, but I spent a fair amount of money to stay at a hotel I remembered as extremely nice and comfortable only to be met with a local area that did not make a good impression on us upon arrival.

Beautiful hotel! The staff was so professional and accommodating! The concierge gave us wonderful dining suggestions and help getting around. We really loved our experience and would stay there again!

The neighborhood has a bit of homeless. the location is close to so much including the gas lamp area but the homeless is frustrating.

Hotel was very clean, attentive staff, excellent restaurant service both in restaurant and in room.

Area around the hotel is dirty. Not far from gas lamp district but the area is infested with human feces on sidewalk, people doing drugs, and homeless so would suggest you don't walk around. Drive to where ever you are going.

Great staff! Helpful, obliging, courteous, couldn't ask for more from nearly everyone I encountered. However, there is NO POOL at this hotel, nor any place to just relax in the sun (garden, fountain, etc.) and that kept it from being an exceptional experience. My room overlooked the roof, there were some faint stains on the rug, and the refrigerator door opened from the wrong side so it was easy to get fingers pinched by the cabinet door latch--an obvious boo-boo so I don't understand why it hasn't been fixed, BUT, it was clean and very comfortable and quiet and the hotel provided me with a tea kettle so I could make tea the old fashioned way. I would absolutely recommend it for business travelers who want a fitness room but not necessarily a pool.

NO POOL!! The hotel made a conscious choice to not use their space for a pool, gardens, fountain, etc. when they renovated it. Fair enough. They want to attract business conferences which is very understandable. But when the Westgate Hotel is just across the street and has a fun area for exercising outside, a nice long pool, and a hot tub, that is where I'll stay and would recommend others who like those amenities also stay.

Beautiful decor, especially the lobby. Staff are so polite and friendly. Good location.

Bathroom fittings a bit tired, especially the bath/shower function.

Cleanliness, staff, classy environment

We were pleased with everything. Renovations are going on but no noise. Windows in rooms are the only thing that need to be updated by being stripped, painted, and be able to open easily.

Beautiful, historic, fabulous staff. The Grant Grill bar and restaurant- both amazing!

There was no sign or warning that I didn't want the room cleaned, so they cleaned it without my knowledge.
