The valet. I forgot his name, but ask him about "Mr. Taub in the suit and white beard", he'll know me. I asked him if it was ok I keep the car in valet area after I checked out, and he assured me he'd personally make sure I could pickup the vehicle at 2:30pm I get there at 2:30pm from work, and he says, "Welcome Back Mr. Taub, checking out?" Made me feel like a million bucks, it's a simple verbal gesture that makes a person want to return. Please give him a raise. Guy at the front desk was pleasant, it was mid-evening and he took mercy by being considerate without being overly enthusiastic (which would come off as fake). A cool friendliness and "let's get to business and sign you in" attitude which was great. I will be back regularly for business, thank you.

Everything was fine.

I enjoyed the spaciousness and the setup of the room. It was easy to store things for my photography and to lounge around after a long day out and about. It wasn't difficult to get to and from my car through valet parking. Is at the edge of the gaslamp District and not that far from the port. So if I wanted a night out in a town or a good restaurant I could easily get to it. It also made accessing the port extremely easy. The managers on site were kind and cordial as well as the valet staff.

The room was spacious enough and clean. Room service was upon request, which I don't mind. The location was great, walking distance to all good stuff... 15 min walk to the beach, 5-10 min walk to dtwn bars and restaurants.

The downside is a homeless shelter that is not far from a hotel :-/ PARKING: A hotel valley overnight parking is $42, if it is not full. The parking garage around the corner charges $32 for a whole day, just be aware that the new day starts at 5 am. Free street parking after 6 pm on Saturday until Monday morning. Watch signs for street sweeping from 3am-5am (Mon, Wed, Fri or Tue, Thru). YELLOW CURB LINE parking is only for commercial vehicles from Mon-Sat until 6 pm. I got a LOADING ZONE ticket on Saturday at 8.30 am ($57.50) for being parked on a yellow line.

The hotel upgraded us to a suite, which was very nice. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept well. Our room was spacious and comfortable. In the lobby was a large jug of chilled, flavored water, and there is a coffee machine where you can order any type of coffee you want. We were given options to check in early or check out late, for a price. There is a fridge and a safe in the closet. The downtown location is excellent, one block from the Civic Center where we saw a musical. There are breakfast spots nearby.

There was no breakfast, and the purchase options in the lobby were chips, beverages, and snacks to heat in the microwave. The TV is against the wall and to the right of the bed, which makes it difficult to watch TV in bed; there were chairs, though. I didn't see anywhere I could hang my dress, as the closet rung was so low you could only hang shirts.

The location of this hotel is great if you want to be close to the centre and Santa Fe Station. I could easily walk to everything I wanted to see. The room was spacious and comfortable, I loved the room decor and am always happy with an in room coffee machine. Although you could also get fresh coffee in the lobby each morning. The gym was well equipped and very clean (my only gripe, it could open slightly earlier). Due to a booking error with another hotel, I'd booked my room very last minute. This was handled well by the Bristol team, and during my stay, all staff were welcoming and friendly.

This hotel felt expensive, but looking around, it seemed in line with others in that location. The gym opened at 6 am. I would have liked to see it open at 5 am. The room was very clean, except for a used contact lens stuck to the side of the nightstand (tiny bit gross, but I was tired, so I left it). But really, I'm digging deep to find the cons to this hotel.

The location is very well situated so we could walk everywhere from there. Grabbing a lyft/Uber was easy too if you want to go further, and they come in 5 min or less. Also, the staff was super professional. Always asking if you need anything. I've been in many hotels of all types, and here, the attention was much higher than the average. Highly recommended.

If I had to say something I didn't like, I would say the mattress in our room was too soft. But some people might like that, so I guess it's just preference.

Just returned from San Diego where I stayed at the Bristol Hotel before leaving on a cruise. It's close to the airport and the cruise port so I recommend it for those 2 reasons. It's also close to many restaurants and a CVS to pick up things you need like drinking water. My room was very clean and had everything I needed. I had an issue with noisy neighbors and called the front desk and they acted promptly. Nine young people piled out of the room! No surprise about the noise! The woman at the front desk (Sandra) was the real highlight. My friend became ill & we needed the room cleaned when it was convenient for her. Sandra made sure all went well with that. She was compassionate and kind and very helpful in many ways. I would definitely stay there again.

It was a nice and clean room. Coffee maker in the room and also an espresso machine in the lobby. Very comfortable bed.

The pullout door for the bathroom was pretty old. It was heavy and inconvenient to have to pull it out and back in, each time we wanted privacy for the bathroom. Very noisy too. They should update those bathroom doors. They stated parking for a fee but the parking lot was full when we checked in. Very inconvenient to have to search for parking elsewhere. Also, a lot homeless as soon as you step out of hotel. Made it a bit weary to walk in the area. Also, the lady at front desk charged my credit card twice and I didn't notice until 3 days after I checked out. I now must wait up to 30 days for refund.

The Bristol is close to dining, entertainment, nightlife and easily accessible from both the airport and Amtrak station. The room was clean, spacious, well anointed with a nice view. The King bed was clean, comfortable and provided a restful night sleep after a long travel day from San Juan Puerto Rico. The staff were all friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, polite, prompt, attentive and professional.

They have beverages available but no Diet Coke or Coke Zero. Just regular sodas.

Hotel was in a great location with the bars and restaurants of Gaslamp district and trolley stop only a couple of mins walk away. The room was well equipped with a coffee machine, fridge, safe and large TV, even the windows opened which is a rarity in hotels these days. The beds were so comfy, you literally just melted into it which was bliss after a days sightseeing.

The only bad thing was that the toilet paper was a tad on the thin side. The parking was pricey but to be fair all the hotels around the area seemed to charge the same...captive market I guess.
