Location was great. Right on the beach and close to all good restaurants. Really nice place to stay. Staff really friendly and accommodating.

Walls and ceilings paper thin. Can hear conversations and footsteps from all rooms close by. If you stay here try and book room 14. Best room available.

Location, location, location. This Inn sits right in front of the Wipeout Beach in La Jolla. You just cross the street, and you're right there. We enjoyed our time relaxing out there, and a lot of the restaurants and other viewpoints are within walking distance from there. We weren't lucky enough to get a room with the view of the sunset, but there are other places (including the beach) where you can enjoy the awesome view. They have 14 rooms, and I think only 5~6 rooms would have an unobstructed view of the ocean. They have beach chairs, umbrellas and some kids' toys you can borrow for free. Also some bicycles.

Parking is an additional $18 per day, and I think they have 4~5 spots in front of the building, and probably another 2~3 spots in the back alley. Also, the rooms are quite old (not to say that they are not clean or anything), so they didn't have enough power outlets as you would expect from other newer hotels. We had no issues, but if you're planning on charging multiple devices, an extension cord with multiple outlets of your own might come in handy.

We appreciated the access to the ocean and surrounding places to shop and eat within walking distance. The view from the patio area displays a beautiful place to watch the sunset! This time of year, a seagull has her young on the roof which is entertaining to watch. Early mornings were chilly, but you can hear the seals down by the shore. Scripps In also has beach towels, beach items to borrow, ice machine and a couple of bicycles to ride if you like. A telescope is available during the day to check out the boats out in the ocean. Truely amazing!

On this past visit..... a bunch of little kids above our room was quite noisy. Other than that - love it!!

The location was incredible! We had an ocean view and we walked everywhere.

It was a little run down and needed some updates (balcony railing, stained couch, bathroom, broken drawer…)

Views were amazing and the room itself had a great "seaside" feel. Brooke and Tony were great, running checkin with lots of help on good recommendations and such. Absolutely loved the cozy setup and everything. Walkable to restaurants and just about anything you could want. Really enjoy my stay.

Everything was great -nothing not to like ...only thing that fits under "would be nice to have": There is a clock/phone charger that's fine (requires laying the phone down to charge) - but some USB jacks on the lamps to charge your phone while using would be a better touch. Again, not a complaint - just would ask the folks to place this on the wish-list.

The beds were comfortable and the location was great.

We wanted to use the bikes for an hour and the cost was $25 per hour which to us was excessive. We had just rented bikes for a 1/2 day in Mission bay for $15.

The location and size of the suite were exceptional. Beds were very comfortable and the living room and kitchen were a good size. It was nice to have a larger fridge than is usually found in a hotel, and the cooktop was nice to have, although we didn't stay long enough to use it. The view of the ocean was fabulous and it was so nice to have the beach towels and chairs provided, with the beach right across the street.. The bikes were also a nice but we didn't have time to use them. Having an extra bathroom sink was a plus for getting ready at the same time. Late check-in was very easy and convenient.

The only reason I didn't give exceptional rating in cleanliness is the bathroom tub and tiles showed some mildew, and there was a large stain on the carpet. Breakfast would've been convenient if it were at the hotel, but we just allowed a little bit of extra time to grab a bite before we started our day. There was a vendor with coffee and pastries, but unfortunately, my family has a restricted diet and that didn't work for us.

We loved the location of the property! Wonderful for walks along the coastline and sunrise and sunset watching. We enjoyed some beautiful sunsets while there. Rooms are great size and beds were very comfortable. Nice to have coffee maker in room. The Christmas decorations were so festive and really added to our holiday stay. We look forward to returning soon hopefully!

Bathroom shower/tub needs to be recalked so that able to be cleaned better and furniture getting a little worn for the price of the rooms (some may need replacement or cleaning?). Really liked everything else about the property. We'd would like to stay in a room with a view next time. Our room didn't have one but being only steps from the ocean made us so happy. Loved stepping out the door for a walk and hearing the ocean surf at night when we were falling asleep.

The room was spacious, airy, well appointed and very comfortable with a nice bathroom. The staff were super friendly and helpful. A delightful small hotel with character in an excellent location in a quiet area with a view of the ocean from the balcony and just steps from the small beach and the La Jolla cove walk. Pelicans, sea lions and seals just minutes away made for a extremely enjoyable stay. A great area with easy access to all the attractions that San Diego has to offer.

A bit of a walk to any restaurants but that was a minor inconvenience.

Location. Not only right across from the ocean, but could walk everywhere in La Jolla. parking is incredibly difficult. They said that made all the difference in the world. The rooms were adorable and so comfortable so it did not even matter that we did not have an ocean view. Front desk was incredibly accommodating to our request for an early check-in and texted as soon as our room was ready.

At least in our room there was no outlet anywhere near the bed and no clocks. So if you wanted to be able to know the time during the night, you were not able to charge your phone or watch. Minor inconvenience.
