Great value. Walking distance to North Beach, Chinatown, Ghiradelli Square, even the Ferry Building, Pier 39 and Union Square. If you're tired of walking, take MUNI or the cable car. Beds are comfortable, room is spacious. Bathroom is worn, but not terrible. Parking is free but tight. Larger cars can park on the second level. I live 45 minutes away, and stayed two nights with a friend. I would definitely stay here again since I just need a place to crash for the night. Butter and Crumble is just a few blocks away!

A bit run down, especially the bathrooms. Some questionable people hanging outside the hotel, but not a safety issue. Tight parking, but at least it's included. Big plus!

This was our second stay here. The location is great ... just down the street from Little Italy, Chinatown, Ghirardhelli Square and Fisherman's Wharf/Pier 39. It is one block away from the starting point of one of the Cable Cars (which we love). We love walking to the cafes and restaurants in this busy and active area of Little Italy. The bus goes right by the hotel. The best part is that parking is included at the hotel. We park our car and use public transportation (cable cars, buses, bikes and feet). So easy. The staff is super friendly. They have always been so accommodating of us, providing the ideal room (top floor, away from the street). The price is good for a downtown San Francisco stay. I highly recommend it.

I don't say I don't "like" ... just be mindful that this is a clean, safe, no frills hotel. The building is a little on the older side but everything is functional and clean. The building has been well maintained.

I love that they have spacious rooms and very comfortable beds and that parking was convenient and free! I loved the breakfast nook in our room too with a coffee station and real glassware! That's a nice touch. The views were nice! We could see Coit Tower and the Ferris Wheel! Also where we wanted to go was right next door to Bimbos to see an 80's music band! We had a lot of fun! And not too far to walk. Also its walking distance to The Famous Buena Vista for the Irish coffee!! And we walked along the water...where the Cable car starts! And the little shops and restaurants was a great little walk.

The ice machine wasn't working on the 3rd floor. And the room didn't have a mini fridge to store leftovers. Good thing we ate everything. There was an Italian restaurant close by we could walk too!

Location was amazing. A couple of blocks from Lombard street and only a short walk down to the piers. Plenty of places to eat and Walgreens only a block away for snacks, water and other bits. Parking included which was a must for us.

Could have been cleaner, but bathroom and beds were clean. Just the bits around the edge never been cleaned. Depends what you want, but didn't bother us. No one on reception when we arrived so couldn't get in, but only waited about 5 mins and someone turned up, they had been helping someone else.

This was my second visit. I was pleasantly surprised that I could book just one night. The location is great. Walking distance to Ghiradelli Square/Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, North Beach and even Union Square. The room was better than average. The building is a bit old. I love that parking is included. The front desk crew are always super friendly. The cable car from Union Square drops you off one block away. I live less than an hour away, and stay here so I don't have to drive home after dining and drinking, or going to the theater! Bimbos and Cobb's Comedy Clubs are next door.

As mentioned, the hotel is kind of old, but kept up well. The bathroom is small, but in good condition.

Firstly, Tony at the front desk was one of the nicest people I've ever interacted with! He was such a breath of fresh air. He made us feel so welcomed! Our room exceeded our expectations - very spacious, awesome balcony with a street view, comfortable bed, clean & tidy, convenient vending and ice machines in the hallway, free parking, amazing location, excellent value! I am so excited to have found Columbus Motor Inn! Can't wait to stay again in the future!

The bathroom in 203 could have used a little update/repair. The wallpaper was peeling and the doorknob could use replacement. The room could have a better sound insulation from the hallway noise.

Clean rooms, highly professional staff from check-in to cleaning. I would particularly like to highlight the extraordinary and professional service of Tony Zelidon at the front desk during booking, check in procedure and my stay. I so much enjoyed my stay in this hotel during my business trip - thanks again to the Columbus Inn staff for making my stay during a 9-days business trip so pleasant.

Some touch ups/upgrades here & there (e.g. shower) would be nice. I did not mind it though, as everything else (location, staff, cleaningness, price) was just ideal. I would definitely stay in this hotel on my next business trip again.

We requested and received a room on the top floor, away from the street. It had a lovely view of the downtown cityscape. The Inn was also ideally suited on Columbus Ave, next door to Lombard Street, easy walking distance to Piers 39 and 33 as well as Little Italy and Chinatown. There was a Cable Car right next door to boot. The bus went right by the hotel, and, the best thing of all, is the free on-site parking. We drove in and parked our car for our entire stay. The city transportation is excellent. The room was simple and clean, nothing fancy, and good for the price.

Great hotel that is super clean with friendly staff. Ideally located in North Beach and walking distance from everything. I got a great room on the third floor with a view of the water and ferris wheel. They have very secure and free parking, which is a definite perk in the city! Overall happy with my stay.

The only thing I didn't like was that they had no lenience for a late check out, not even 30 minutes

Perfect location for Fisherman’s Wharf with free parking (a rare find in San Fran) Bus stops right outside for downtown/union square. 7-10 minute walk to pier 33 (Alcatraz) and pier 39 where there are lots of restaurants/shops/street entertainment and a great view of Alcatraz and Golden Gate Bridge. Clean hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. Beds extremely comfortable, good powerful shower and the complimentary shower gel/shampoo/conditioner smelt divine ! Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend.

Free wifi dropped out a good few times during our stay Decor a little dated, this didn’t put me off and it’s honestly one of the best budget hotels I have stayed in!!
