Clean & comfortable. I arrived very late due to flight delays but the hotel is staffed 24hrs. The room was basic, yet comfortable. The shower was amazing, great pressure that I really needed after a long day of travel. Good wifi, coffee available at reception & free breakfast. While I'm not a huge fan of donuts, when in the US just do it. They also held my bags all day while I saw the sights & I was able to relax in the downstairs lounge until it was time to head to the airport. While I've heard a lot of negative reviews about the Tenderloin, I felt perfectly safe. I walked to the station to take the train to the airport & had no issues. I wouldn't do this at night but that's the same anywhere in the world!

I have nothing to complain about. It was perfect for me

Property itself is great- clean, comfortable, seems recently renovated. Staff is great and very accommodating. Let me store my bags before and after my stay, as it was outside normal check-in and check-out. Small issue with the shower handle was quickly resolved. No complaints at all and I have stayed here multiple times. For the money, you can't find a better value in San Francisco! Pro tip: if you're hungry and want a quick snack, go to Saigon Sandwich around the corner. $6 for a Bahn Mi sandwich to go, you can't go wrong!

The hotel is on the edge of the Tenderloin, which is a bit sketchy, so exercise caution walking at night or if you're by yourself. Just be aware of your surroundings. Note that there is nothing the property can do about it, so I dont blame them at all, I just point it out for people to be aware in advance. It's not dangerous; I keep coming back because I love this hotel and the price can't be beat!

freshly renovated so modern look with nice fixtures. bed comfy, nice shower but it leaked water all over the floor no matter how careful. we had king suite so pretty spacious. no mini fridge in room that was missed. overall decent and nice looking though. water and coffee in lobby was appreciated. well located. Brenda's French soul kitchen a couple doors down is fantastic. it's the tenderloin but not in the worst part so manageable.

room wasn't finished being made and they checked us in. the bed was stripped but not made up. maid had to come in and finish after we asked. that was weird. no fridge though website listed. no luggage rack so had to use the sofa for our suitcase. leaky shower. could use a nightlight. bathroom pocket door had a windows so didn't block the light ... usually can leave the door cracked for nightlight but not here. light sleepers beware lots of noise from the street so bring your earplugs.

I like the overalll ambiance of hotel would. It’s minimal but attractive, the beds are cozy, the television is smart and the staff if pretty ok, some better than others. The hotel is easily accessible if you have any deliveries and the location I think is fantastic, a hop a skip and a jump away from market and Powell. The rates fluctuate but I’ve always pgotten a killer deal. The one issue I do have tho, and this is with all hotels, is the deposit these hotels are requiring. I understand the necessity of a deposit but what I don’t understand is why I’m being charged $250 (a night at some places!) while the older couple checking in is only required to pay $100. Or why it’s only $100 one day ago but now it’s 200? Hotel Epik did require a very costly deposit on $250, despite what was quoted on the website. But thankfully that was a one time thing only. I do recall once having an issue receiving my deposit back, but thankfully they were able to release that just as soon as I called to inquire about it. My overall experiences here at hotel Epik have always been pleasant and I would recommend this place to anyone without a car, and most definitely stay here again!

The astronomical fluctuating misquoted deposit of $250.

No hassle, drama...nice clean quiet room,I liked the idea of reinventing/remodeling an old hotel into a renewal of a useful business.

Seems like the location was a little sketchy. If I was of the opposite sex, parking was very difficult. Once I was in my compact room, it was cool. the staff was helpful and chill, the intre at a late/early hour was self-assuring.

On arrival at the hotel I was skeptical of the hotel outside environment. However, when I entered the hotel lobby I was impressed and relieved how warm and inviting it was. From the friendly staff to overall decor and the cleanliness draws you in and adds a calming effect as-well-as security during your hotel visit. A little bit noisy due to outside traffic but overall experience was great.

Hotel location was great but the surrounding environment is not great. There are homeless people in the surrounding area but not in front of the hotel. There is no parking at this location however private parking is available at an additional cost in the surrounding area.

This is the perfect spot for someone who is on a budget but doesn’t like to share the bathroom with strangers. The hotel is very clean, the water pressure is outstanding, staff is very kind and the location might scare off some, but I think it’s a great start no matter what direction you plan on going. Super close to late night convince store and good ol kfc is right across the street. What more could one ask for?

I hate the elevator. It runs at least.

The property is very nice inside and the rooms are very modern and well decorated. The tv has YouTube etc and the bathrooms are nice with good toiletries. There is ample storage space.

There isn’t a fridge in the room but there is a common area kitchen. As many say the location whilst close to everything is full of homeless people - to me I am used to this location having lived here but for some they may feel it disconcerting. The price is reflective of this and if you can get over this it’s an absolute bargain.

The Location was excellent: a lot and frequent buses took us everywhere.

It was hard to see so many people in dire straits and with addictions and mental illness living around the hotel. I saw that the city of San Francisco offered wc, showers, clinics, food. I admire the fact that the City of San Francisco and its dwellers refuse to persecute and stigmatize people because they are poor, or have addictions, or mental illnesses. I wish that this situation would change.

Room was clean and staff was friendly. My car broke down and I had taken to a shop, who wasn't able to get it done on Saturday. This hotel was reasonable and .03 miles from the shop. I was pleasantly surprised, until I got to my room and heard all kinds of yelling and radios blaring.

I was in room 222. This window is located directly towards skid row. I watched drug deals all night long. However they were quiet after 10 pm, so I guess that was good. Request the other side of the hotel
