I was a bit concerned since the property is unmanned, this meaning that there is no proper reception. However, I must say that my stay was pleasant with no drawbacks at all. There is a remote assistance service which is active 24/24, promptly responding to any questions, and the self check-in is really easy going. The property is located in a very nice part of the city, just a few minutes on feet from Union Square. Last but not least, the Wi-Fi works pretty well and I could even handle some videoconferences without any discontinuities or other issues. Overall, I would say definitely good for the price.

We had an enjoyable stay at Kasa La Manorca. The property is remotely managed which means you get a code to check in whenever you like. The room was clean and spacious. The hotel is located nearby to walkable tourist areas and felt safe. There was a fire alarm during our stay which meant we got an email alert whilst out, we rang to check what was going on and the remote staff were very helpful and made us feel like if we had needed anything they were on hand! Would reccomend!

It had a unique feel to it, and I loved it. The room and bed was spacious, everything was clean, and I had a great wardrobe. There was no issue with hot water in the bathroom and the tub allowed me to soak my bones after an extremely difficult day.

I had a microwave in my room (no other device to heat water) and while I tried to use it, fuse went down.

The communication with the staff was great, and they were super responsive. The room was nice, quiet, and clean. The kitchen was a huge plus, very well-equipped and great for those who want to stay longer in San Francisco and plan to cook sometimes. Also, the resting area was very comfortable. 😀 Before arriving, I read many things about the overall location. Personally, I think the location was great and it felt safe. Very close to Chinatown, shops, and bus and tram stations.

the location is in proximity to a "not so good" neighbourhood for the presence of homeless and (sometimes) gergale. Actually, this is a problem of a lot of downtown hotels... Kasa is in a relative safety place up to my stay but it seams a situation in development so I cannot rate the location with certainties. I feel safe as a couple, maybe a solo female traveller or families may find themselves in uncomfortable situations

The check-in was super easy. The hotel is located in a fantastic area and we felt safe during our stay. The kitchen and laundry was great with everything that you need for your stay.

The only negatives if I needed to name some is that the door to our room had a rather larger gap to the coridoor which mean that privacy was an issue and noise coming from the coridoor. Furthermore the sink in the bathroom was tiny which made it difficult even to just brush your teeth let alone when you are traveling as a couple getting ready in the morning.

We loved the simple check-in. We requested an early check-in which they made possible and we got all important codes and information at the right time. Location was perfect and our room was very spacious. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable I had ever slept in when it comes to hotel stays.

The room’s view was not perfect, but okay. All in all, there was not much to complain about except that we lost electricity a couple of times after using the hair dryer. In that case, the virtual frint desk provided us with instructions to fix that. Worked perfectly well. As this example shows, you have to be aware that this is not the classic hotel experience but more like an Airbnb.

The property itself is lovely. Its close to Union Square and only a few blocks from Powell Street station making it easy to get to and from. The building is clean and feels safe and secure. The building is quiet and offers laundry and kitchen facilities on sight. I included some pictures of the kitchen/ common areas.

Ok...my biggest issue is that I stayed at this property for 18 days. I ran out of toilet tissue as well as body wash after day 9. When I contacted Kasa, I was informed that I would have to purchase these products myself. It's not the cost that annoyed me, it's the fact that they didn't provide enough for my length of stay. I get that they didn't want to come in to the room because of the pandemic, but couldn't it have been left outside of the door? It just seems with what I paid for my stay, they could have tossed in some more toilet tissue and body wash.

Beautiful, historical building. Rooms were neat, window facing other historical buildings downtown. The kitchen area fully equipped. Common space was perfect for long working days.

One morning a homeless person was sleeping on a dormat which was blocking the entrance to the building. Another day a homeless person entered the hotel and stayed in the kitchen area for multiple hours. Also, as mentioned in the advert, the wall are pretty tight.
