The room itself was very spacious and the bed was very soft and comfortable to sleep in. Ample amount of pillows as well. All other dining spaces were lovely and the decor was very strong throughout the hotel (including the elevator) - made me forget I was in San Francisco

With the room being larger, it was drafty and sometimes very cold; the heater did not work as well. Also we had to trouble shoot the TV as it was not working when we arrived.

I loved the hotel because my room was fantastic – a quiet spot at the end of the hall with a beautiful city view from the window and a cozy fireplace. Plus, the breakfast each morning was lovely, especially those amazing pastries! And the location was perfect, right near Union Square with easy walks to BART/Muni, making it simple to get all around the Bay Area.

Since I stayed for 13 days, I would have really appreciated a mini-fridge in the room to keep some food. Also, having a kettle for making hot tea in the room would have been much more convenient than going downstairs.

Has a super adorable and cozy vibe. Very homey and quaint! Our stay was well within our budget, especially for a Friday-Sunday stay in Union Square. The sister hotel two doors down had great breakfast that we had access to through our room key. Additionally, the staff was so kind and check in and out was extremely easy. I'll definitely be coming here again!

This stay was a 10/10 for us! The only thing I'd let future travelers know is that the walls are pretty thin, so you can hear the music from the lobby or other rooms close to you. Also, the 1 queen room was pretty small (which ended up being perfect for us). If you plan on staying in your room more often, I'd recommend an upgrade, but if you're going to be out and about like we were, the queen room was fantastic!

We were ugraded (thanks Booking!) to a room with a fireplace, and it was a lovely, large wall-papered room at the end of the corridor. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the location is perfect - walkable to just about everywhere you'd want to go (assuming you are a good walker), and on various public transport routes as well. The breakfast is lovely - lots of variety and yes, they do have boiled eggs (contrary to one of the reviews I read.) :) This is a very different experience from the antiseptic hotel rooms I usually end up in, and much appreciated!

More "desirable" breakfast foods (croissants, donuts etc.) could be consistently replenished for those who arrive after 09:00 perhaps? We came down to eat around 09:15 the first morning, and there were none to be had - but this was not true the next day, and it is a rather small thing. Everything else was just great.

The evening wine and cheese and the breakfast were excellent. The place was wonderful.

I don't like being scammed. The room was $153.00, and there was a resort fee of $24.00 per night. So, in reality, the room costs $176.00 a night plus tax. I've stayed here many times over the years, and the services were exactly the same as before the resort fee. My reservation was paid for in advance through Booking.com, but they added $100 to my credit card to be sure that I didn't steal anything. The management is confused about who is the thief.

This was a great hotel to stay in. We loved it! Gorgeous room with wallpaper and fireplace and the staff were very attentive. Coffee, tea and cold drinks was available 24 hours. A continental breakfast was served 2 doors up in their sister hotel, White Swan. There was lots to eat. The hotel was in Union Square surrounded by bars and restaurants so no need to go anywhere else for dinner.

The only, only drawback ( and it’s absolutely no reflection on the hotel or staff) was a very inconsiderate person who sat on the steps right outside the front door and smoked. He was told of course not to, but fell on deaf ears 😢

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Front Desk staff member Noel for his exceptional service. He was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful in answering all of my questions, and he went out of his way to accommodate every request I had. His warm and engaging manner made him feel more like a friend than just a hotel staff member. Thanks to your outstanding hospitality—and the comfort and charm of the hotel—I decided to extend my stay at both Petite Auberge and White Swan Inn for an additional five nights. My time here has been thoroughly enjoyable. I truly appreciate how well the hotel is maintained, especially the cozy fireplaces and the vintage-style lift that add so much character. Oh, and I must not forget to mention the healthy breakfast and the delightful afternoon wine and nibbles—they made each day even more special. I will definitely come back again!

None.

The location is excellent, right in the city and close to restaurants and sights. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they accommodate your needs well. The hotel is very cute and cozy and has B&B vibes. Great for solo travelers because you will meet other people at breakfast and during the wine and nibbles hour.

It can be quite cold in the room and you can hear people walking above your room due to building being old and having poor insulation. So if you are a light sleeper probably not a place for you. Or at least request a room on the top floor so no one is above you! There is also a gap below the door so a breeze comes into the room from the hallway. If you get cold easily I would suggest booking a room with a fireplace to help you keep warm. The beds are super soft so if you don't like soft beds, this is not a place for you.

From a tourist’s perspective, the location was very convenient, providing easy access to public transportation. There were plenty of stores and restaurants close by. The staff was ever smiling and helpful. The hotel organised a wine and cheese evening daily and hot coffee and bottled water was available 24/7, on the house. Breakfast was included.

The room size was small. There wasn’t much space to move around after placing our 2 large suitcases.

We love love LOVED our stay here! The bed was so comfy we ended up napping almost every day, the fireplace was cozy beyond belief, the location is PERFECT (close to Chinatown and SF MOMA, away from the sketchy areas), and the staff are so helpful and friendly. Free water was incredibly nice to have, and the breakfast was delicious. Also, the evening snacks were tasty and a fun atmosphere! We wish we could just move in and live here forever :)
