The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were clean, and the location was great. The water was hot and the pressure was great. The staff was helpful and friendly. The Top of the Mark was beautiful and I love the history of it.

The hotel is dated and with virtually no amenities. The Top of the Mark was beautiful but expensive. Expect to pay $25 per drink. Our stay was during the 4th of July. We chose this hotel so we could enjoy a beautiful view of the fireworks. We found out the day prior that they were charging a $25 per couple to be admitted to the Top of the Mark.. We were disappointed that we had to pay the hotel extra for something that should have been included in our 5-day stay. The refrigerator in the room was stocked but ridiculously expensive.

Lovely quiet room. Plenty of space. In room coffee maker. Ironing board in room. Top of the Mark a great casual venue for drinks and food and views. We were able to watch Cunard's Queen Anne sail away - very special to us as we had disembarked that day. Friendly, helpful staff.

Lack of drawer space. Two bed side cabinets of 3 drawers would have made all the difference. I felt as if I was living out of my suitcase. The safe is in the hanging space of the walk in wardrobe, cutting available space down. Would be better positioned on the left or right hand wall. Lack of drinking water.

Check in was easy. Room was nice - clean , spacious enough for our needs. We could walk to the Curran Theater, to restaurants, to Chinatown. We took BART and cablecar up the hill to the hotel, but walked everywhere else.

Only suggestion - might want to inform guests that there is an automatic incidental fee that is placed on the reservation until it clears. When I saw my credit card statement I thought there had been a mix-up and I took more time than I wanted to chasing down why my pending charge was approx $100 more than the quoted price. Could have been spared that hassle if i had been told of this procedure.

ISAAAAA ISSAAAA ISSAAAA!!!! Checked us in and only cos of him our trip to SFO was amazing. I originally booked a regular room and upon checking with him he gave us an amazing room ❤️. I am very late to mention this comment cos I just came back from my tour now after a month. And during my whole visit this hotel was fabulous. I would like to say keep ISAAAAA forever he an amazing human and very professional. Next time again I am looking forward to stay and will ask for ISAA to check me in 🥳. Food was amazing breakfast in room was like a dream. 🤭🥰 my graduation and birthday trip was so amazing. I would love to come back again and have the same service 🥹💕🙏🏻. Thank you so much for taking care of us

Everything amazing like a dream

We had a room on the 14th floor that had an exceptional view looking right down Mason Street towards Fisherman's Wharf, the Bay, and Angel Island. Located atop San Francisco's historic Nob Hill, it was an easy walk to Chinatown, Grace Cathedral, the cable cars. The bar, Top of the Mark, was also a nice place to enjoy a drink while watching the sunset over the Golden Gate. The staff we interacted with -- front desk, concierge, housecleaning, restaurant -- were all polite, competent, and friendly. I would especially call out the valets handling the cars in the front courtyard, who were truly outstanding. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Dog friendly! Dog treats. Lovely hotel. Good seating space in lobby and room behind. Prime location at top of Nob Hill. Very comfortable room. Friendly housekeeping staff. Noon checkout. Was able to check in at 2 instead of 3, for no charge.

Coffee in lobby would be a bonus, although I could make it in the room so that was fine. It would have been $50 to check in before 2, but was still able to check in at 2 (early) for no charge.

Location was great! we walked to a concert at The Masonic and food nearby. Got valet parking which was worth it. Our room was on the 12th floor overlooking the city which was so beautiful. Room was spacious and super quiet, didn't hear any of the other guests. AC was a bonus.

everything was great but may be would've been nice to have a vending machine for late night food. That said, there were snacks & a mini bar in the room.

We hosted my daughter's 13th birthday party and she invited a few friends for a sleepover. They had a HUGE suite and I was in a room just down the way. It was fantastic. The holiday decor was up and the hotel looked fabulous. A friend and I met for dinner in the lobby restaurant and it was delicious. We love the Mark Hopkins for it's historic charm and beautiful rooms.

It took a very long time to get the car out of Valet parking after we checked out. We called down for it well in advance, and it still took 30+ minutes for the car to come around. I think they need more valet staff or a better system in general.

My bestie and I came up to San Francisco for an overnight stay to see a concert (at the Regency Ballroom). We wanted a clean, affordable, classic hotel room and the Mark Hopkins more than met our expectations. Although the room was small (and the bathroom was a bit challenging), the room was lovely, clean and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the city. I have no complaints whatsoever. Hotel staff were lovely and accommodating. The only thing I would recommend would be easier access to bottled water that is NOT in a mini-bar (which there wasn't in ours anyway - maybe in a vending machine either in each floor or in the lobby???).

No clean bottled water available anywhere! We got cups from the concierge and filled them up from the dispenser in the lobby. Really tacky! Provide bottled water GRATIS to hotel guests in their rooms!

Hotel staff was wonderful. Views and location amazing. Valet parking easy. Food and drinks at the Top of the Mark were fair. Very close to Union Square, cable car, Grace Cathedral, good restaurants and shopping.

First impressions being everything, it's a beautiful old hotel. When entering the lobby there is a huge urn in the middle of the room and it's filled with tired looking artificial flowers. I think the hotel can do better than that and support some local florists while they're at it.
