Full service hotel in the safe shopping/restaurant district of Union Square, steps from Chinatown and financial downtown. Courteous and friendly staff taking their time to help or advise you. Excellent full breakfast buffet (extended operation 7am-11am!) with a chief cooking your eggs to your preference. Nicely decorated, restaurant (snacks and burgers) and cocktail bar with views on the Powell-Mason cable car. Spacious and clean room well furnished and elegantly decorated with efficient Wi-Fi and comfortable desk. Exactly what you expect from a Marriott hotel.

I am not used to this unpleasant practice of being charged daily a 'destination fee' of 25 USD without consent, which in fact obliges you to have lunch or dinner at the hotel every day if you don't want to loose the value of this daily fee. Note that many other SF hotels do that.

payment was debited off Andriette Theron's credit card. She travelled alongside David Crosoer from PPS Investments, South Africa. She was double debited, even though this should have been debited off the company credit card. Credentials were sent to David via email. Please can this be dealt with urgently.

The location was good, the hotel was clean, staff were friendly and the room and views from it were very good. Amenities were good including a reasonably equipped gym.

Very disappointed about the destination fee. This was an additional $30 cost per day which was mandatory but could be used to offset the cost of drinks, food and some tours. It wasn't at all clear from the Booking.com website that this was payable. It was also unclear from the explanation at hotel reception that this was an additional charge regardless of whether we chose to offset this against food or drinks. Essentially this was an additional $270 we hadn't accounted for (over 9 nights).

Great food. Breakfast buffet was amazing. And Jeff took good care of us. Definitely book with breakfast included because food is expensive if you don't. We also had a nice dinner there, which wasn't a bad value because of our $35 credit. The gym was also good. Plenty of equipment. Location was very convenient to Union Square.

The view of the bay included the view of the airconditioning tower on the building across the street. Not very scenic. And we were on a high floor.

The hotel is very well maintained and staff was very friendly and helpful. We got a room on the 21st floor with a terrific view of the city. Breakfast was very good. It was included with our package, but even if wasn’t, just eating at McDonald’s across the street is quite pricey.

Everything (in general in San Francisco) costs extra. Wi-Fi was $15 per day. Parking was like $70. We actually returned the rental car we had been using prior to our stay in San Francisco and used public transportation.

The location is great - one block from union square and directly on Sutter where the cable car stops. The room was clean, spacious and with lots of natural light. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the doorman. The two cable car tickets were a nice freebie

The 34 dollar destination fee is a bit of a bummer - they give you 30 dollars credit for food, drinks etc but in the end you are still spending it for things you may not want.

the location was wonderful; near shopping, transportation, restaurants. The room was immaculate, everything worked and the location was quiet. It was a bit pricey but it was worth it.

You couldn't use the elevator to go to a higher floor even though you were already cleared to your level. You had to take the stair to get ice, for example.

The room was more spacious that I thought. The beds were comfortable and breakfast was convenient. The hotel also offered additional credit to be used daily and other perks for staying such ass cable car rides.

A minor thing, the cleaning staff was stingy with restocking the room with towels / shower gel.

The location was very central and walking distance to many places we wanted to see. The streetcars were just steps away. The hotel, and our room, were very clean, roomy and comfortable. Staff were all super friendly and had no problems accommodating a very late check-in in the very early hours of the morning. Would stay here again without question.
