The staff were very helpful, accommodating and friendly. No request went unanswered, and promptly at that. The room was comfortable and roomy. The location is quite convenient, close enough to our conference center but also close to Chinatown and other points of interest nearby. Also a 10-min walk to the BART, which can optionally be covered with the cable car. All in all a lovely stay.

The room was a bit dark for my taste, even with all the lights on. Also, this is a truly minor thing, but the light switches in the room were a bit funny - there were 2 switches, one at the entrance and one next to the bed, but the way it worked was that if either was in the on position, the lights remained on even if the other switch was flipped. This would require one to go back and forth between the switches to leave the room dark / turn off the lights before bed. Pretty sure that's not how it's supposed to work :-).

This is an older hotel but very well maintained. Nice sitting area in the lobby and very conveniently located to Union Square - about a five block walk partly uphill from the Montgomery station on BART. Street car runs right up Powell at the corner of Bush and Powell 50 meters from the hotel entrance. Room was spacious and comfortable. I didn't take the breakfast since there are so many good options within a couple of blocks with probably better coffee.

Wifi was a bit intermittent - sometimes worked fine, sometimes would log me out after an hour or two and hard to get back in. I ended up using my T-Mobile hotspot when it didn't work (but to be fair, it did work most of the time). There is another hotel on Bush, about 445, called the Orchard Garden - don't make the mistake I made and go there first. It turned out there was a guest there with the same last name as me and we got a fair bit into the checkin process (including running my credit card for a deposit!) before we realized this guest was not me.

The location is awesome. The Powell + Bush cable car is right at the corner, which is great way to get to both Fisherman's Wharf and to the Financial District (by transferring at Powell + California). It is also walking distance to Chinatown and Union Square. The staff of the hotel were all terrific. Very pleasant and attentive. And our room (a suite) was both beautiful and comfortable.

The only drawback is that our room was located by the elevator, so we did hear the sound of the elevator moving (but not the sound of people). It would only be an issue if you want silence at night. Even the street noise outside (the clanging of the cable cars, for example) was not that bad.

We loved the art deco design of the room and bathroom. The Kingsize bed was very comfortable and the room was really spacious as was the bathroom. The room was quiet, cleaned daily, coffee and tea replaced daily. There are many lovely restaurants nearby (we ate at Le Central, La Bouche and Cesario's) and had breakfast every morning at Le café de la presse. We loved the location of the hotel, the buildings in the area are beautiful, walking distance to the Ferry Building and the Embarcadero and with the help of google maps we found bus stops nearby to get us everywhere we wanted to go. Tram and street car stops also nearby. We loved San Francisco and would definitely stay in this hotel if we get to visit the city again.

Nothing to dislike.

Very spacious and clean! Really good value for money, given its location and vs. the other hotel options in the area. Surprisingly, even the surrounding areas felt clean and safe. Plenty of storage space and hangers available, good lighting, and friendly staff. I don't know if they offer breakfast at the hotel, but there are plenty of cafes and restaurants that serve breakfast sandwiches and burritos very nearby. I made two separate bookings on different platforms, and they accommodated my request to keep the same room throughout. They were also very quickly able to provide an invoice. I ordered something online and they delivered it directly to my room. I would very happily stay in this hotel again.

It's an uphill walk to get to the hotel, but manageable. It took a month for the deposit on my card to be returned (in full, without need for following up).

Me and my best friend stayed in this lovely hotel for a 3 day trip to the city. It was Very close proximity to everything in the city which made for a smooth and easy holiday. The receptionists in the lobby were there 24/7 which was great as we had a very early flight so were able to check out early on. The room itself was crystal clean and very spacious. The view from the window was beautiful and we felt as though it was a 5 star hotel. Everything about it was just lovely, couldn’t recommend more and would definitely return if coming back to the city.

There were no downfalls our stay was tremendous. The hotel did charge a hold fee of $50 USD per night however it was returned upon checkout very quickly.

Very comfortable in general, really silent despite noisy neighborhood, employees were all very nice. Has a peculiar style, a bit like a old hotel, but everything is new and clean (carpets are a little stained, though). Quite close to Union Square and to Chinatown. Having a water fountain in the lobby was quite convenient.

Breakfast was good but did not have many options, so I ended up going to coffee shops nearby (there are many!). Being in downtown SF is nice but has its down sides - lots of hills, people living on the streets etc.

We stayed at Hotel Orchard for three nights with our family, booking two rooms, and absolutely loved our stay. The location is fantastic – just a short walk to Union Square, with plenty of cafes, restaurants, and shops nearby. The convenience of having a cable car stop just around the corner added to the charm of exploring the city. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and offered excellent value for the price. While we didn’t have meals at the hotel and can’t comment on the dining experience, everything else about our stay exceeded expectations. We highly recommend Hotel Orchard for anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and budget-friendly option in San Francisco. We’ll definitely consider staying here again on our next visit!

My friend and I stayed here for a work trip, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! As two young women traveling alone, we felt extremely safe and well taken care of the entire time. The location is great, the front desk staff was warm and welcoming, and our room was spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable. We truly appreciated the hospitality and will definitely be staying here again on our next trip!

Better Wifi! Also we never got the TV to work with the streaming devices.

The location on Bush St is right in the city centre, which suited us perfectly. There are cafes and dine in options very close by, like next door or across the road, and bus and trolley bus / tram routes within a couple of minutes walk. The room itself is spacious and the bathroom is also large with ample bench space. The decor is a little dated, but the whole effect is very stylish and classy, and our room on the 6th floor was very quiet. The bed was super comfortable, the filtered water machine on several floors was a nice touch, and the staff were great - very friendly and helpful. I had a few parcels delivered at the hotel before my stay, which were all sitting in our room on arrival - I found this super useful - thanks guys!
