The rooms are exceptional, the mattress was so comfortable and the room size was HUGE. The hotel staff are so friendly and the services and facilities were top tier. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The property is so central to everything and I would book to stay here again.

Unlike the other Taj hotels, there is no spa however you can order an external masseuse to your room.

Nicely touched details from the hotel entrance warmly welcomed by the doorman and the reception - thanks to Tuan who checked us in - coffee and muffins in the morning, very friendly Soukaina who gave us clear instructions to the California Academy of Science… we enjoyed a family-like six nights stay very much!

The hotel provides a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff demonstrates exceptional friendliness and are most helpful! I enjoyed a remarkable dining experience at the bar, where the culinary offerings were of the highest caliber.

The external disturbances caused by the rioting were beyond the hotel's control. However, it must be acknowledged that the resulting noise pollution does impact ones experience.

The included breakfast was very nice. I had a delightful Indian-style omelette. Supper in the Bombay Bistro was excellent as well, and the service was impeccable.

In the morning, the first selection of lobby music I encountered was a Mozart string quartet. I loved that. The contemporary nondescript background music, though, was annoying.

Excellent staff. High quality amenities. Close to business meetings and Moscone West.

Airconditioner switched from heating to cooling. The maintenance person tried to fix it but could not. He arranged for a heater which helped but did not solve the problem. They fixed it next day. The property seems old and needs constant upkeep.

Super location . I was there for a conference -10 minute walk . Got Bart train from airport to Powell station aid 5 minute walk . Absolute lovely staff from door man to reception staff to restaurant . Coffee and pastries in morning was a great idea too

Great and convenient location. Very well maintained hotel with friendly staff. Was disappointed that the entire lobby area is under renovation. No bar or restaurant, but very good room service.

Complete the renovations and reopen the lobby.

Room - Very clean , water was provided (which we usually do not see in hotels in California) Bed was comfortable, Housekeeping was great. They paid attention to little things and left us a plate of chocolates which was a nice touch.

The room and the service were good.

The problem is that when I booked the room with Booking.com, the price of the room per night was quoted at $179.10, which is what I was charged for 3 nights of my 5 night stay. The 4th night was charged at $252.00 and the 5th at $342.00 without any explanation. I am quite unhappy that I was not told about this in advance either by Booking.com or the hotel.

The location is great, and I felt very safe despite being in Union Square

They charge a hefty fee for room service which I find ridiculous since the food is already overpriced
