It was a great hotel location wise especially in the holiday season.

The bill was confusing after our stay from Westin. There were terms that were unclear and I wasn't sure what I was charged for. After dropping them emails and reading up about Marriot bills, I figured this is the case for all Marriot hotels. I wasn't charged anything different from what I was promised but the terms in the receipt were confusing. For a three day stay I was charged parking pf $75 everyday which I thought was ridiculous! Please know that San Francisco hotels charge something called a "Destination fee". This is a good to know information before you book hotels here. Surprisingly hotels in Vegas don't charge this but SFO does!

I didn’t like the constant smell of cannabis (not inside the hotel) near the entrance to the hotel or in the streets. I know this is nothing to do with the hotel.

My room was amazing I asked for a " room with a view" and it did not disappoint. I had a room on the 31st floor with an amazing view. The bed was large and super comfy and the room was very clean. Location was central and absolutely fantastic I was able to walk to Union Square I loved everything about it including the lift with the fantastic view. I felt very safe in the location and the hotel itself. It exceeded my expectations.

I think the food was a little bit pricey in the ground floor cafe but all in all it didn't spoil my stay

We come here every year to spend time around Union Square before Christmas. We can walk to all the attractions (ice skating rink, dinner, shopping, China Town). Very comfy beds and nice views from the Tower rooms.

Since it was Christmas Eve, the hotel was short staffed (and there was a hotel strike) so that was too bad. The staff who were there were very nice and attentive so that was good. The lobby was being renovated so we didn't get to see the large Gingerbread Castle but a smaller version instead.

Location was great near Union Square, shopping, theatres, Modern Art gallery, lots of restaurants etc. The staff were very helpful, particularly the valet parking, luggage and concierge. Nostalgic and a fabulous view from our room plus super elevator ride in the new tower.

Renovations were going on at the time which we did not know about until we arrived so some facilities closed. The lobby was freezing! One needed over coats to just stand in line at the reception desk or order from the self serve cafeteria, which was not my fave place.

Very noisy strikes every day right in front of the hotel from early moning till late. It's so sad to see the hotel's employees making as loudest noise as possible against the hotel.. The charging system is very confusing and anoying: I was charged 3 times for the booked amount: at check in; after check in and after check out! it could have been done at one time

Liked the room we were on the 19th floor in the tower, the concierges were exceptionally helpful and went out of their way to help and provide and help. Gym is great. Used the bike ride and uber vouchers plus had breakfast and evening meal one day.

Not really anything hotel can improve but there were not many restaurants in walkjbg distance open after 9pm and there were many homeless people outside on the streets at night which .ade us sad for the plight of the people but we also did jot feel nice to walk around in the evening.

The first lady I spoke to said I wasn't charged twice but when I showed her my credit card statement she got her manager and then something was actually done about it. Added some stress to my stay.

Wonderful old hotel ,with atmosphere. Courteous staff and always helpful when questions were asked.

The property needs a cafe where you can have quality simple meals or snack or breakfast that isn’t like McDonalds , or breakfast in a paper bag. There was no style or elegance instead it is a very unattractive place.I had pasta there the night we arrived and it was poor quality food and my friend had a watery soup with old stale bread. The tables and seating are unattractive. The wastage of plastic, cardboard and paper is not sustainable, I was surprised,no recycling! We found a small , delightful restaurant near the Westin St Francis,which was atmospheric,where we could have a glass of wine and a delicious meal at not an exorbitant price, eg two gin and tonic’s at Caruso’s bar $36. We would liked to have linged over breakfast , but retired very quickly from this place.
