Great location, felt quite safe compared to other locations in the street where i've stayed in the past. The room had everything I needed, the ceiling fan was a great help, my windows was facing a very thin backyard corridor with machinery/ventilation which is both a good and a bad thing : Less noise from the street but not much light/airflow

The room was a bit dusty and the bathroom didn't smell very good (although clean) and the desk was leaning forward so a lot of things would fall off. Wish there was an option to keep luggage before/after your stay

I was looking for a more affordable stay in this neighbourhood as I was attending an international conference. And glad I found and chose the Bartlett Guesthouse. Good location, nice spacious room and bathroom, nice bed. Nice staff, special thanks to Olivia, she was very friendly and helpful! And there was a voucher for a complimentary beer next door which is one of the best pubs around. The building is probably old but I liked the atmosphere and even the smell of it. There was a safe box and fridge in the room.

The window was facing the wall, it was a bit disappointing at first (it was my first time in the city) but okay. No AC just fan at the ceiling but it was also okay, it wasn’t a hot week. Could have used more shelves to store clothing. And I like when hotels provide body lotion (I would trade it for the hair conditioner :)) but that’s the economy hotel so can’t be too greedy. Luggage storage after checking out was a bit expensive (more than $8 even for 3 hours), but again, considering the total price it was tolerable. I wad a bit cautious about the neighbourhood but didn’t encounter any problems. Overall the whole experience was great. I would stay there again and recommend to friends.

Central location. Accessible to Bart , Walgreens, trader's joe. Walking Distance to fisherman's wharf, China Town, embarcadero. Clean and equipped pantry

Amazing value for money. The hotel is quite basic, but clean and very centrally located. I would definitely stay again.

For the price there is nothing to complain about.

Very efficient room. Rooms Seemed larger than 150 square feet. Nice well stocked bathroom. Best deal in SF. Much cleaner and less seasoned than competitors. Neighborhood seems like it’s starting to rebound from retail store closures and empty office space. Hustle and bustle seemed back. Make sure you book a room with a private bathroom. Nice place, very well managed hotel. No security deposit required at check in. One of my favorite hotels in the city. Rooms feature excellent ventilation with functional windows, bathroom fan and ceiling fan. Safe space for LGBT travelers.

Great location! Close to public transportation, coffee shops, CVS, and in walking distance from China Town and Little Italy. But most of all, felt safe walking around at night. Staff/manager was very accommodating about the fact that our flight was delayed and we now had to spend our first night in a different city and we arrived a day later. We were stressed about this delay and we xtra money we had to spend and the way they handled it really made us happy and took the stress away. Comfortable bed, hot shower was good.

Remote didn’t work and never received a new one, but that’s a minor thing.

Room was clean and decent. I had a comfortable stay. The location was very central, and the security with double locked doors at the entrance seemed decent. There were large windows and had good ventilation and also a heating source.

I just wish there was a kettle or some basic utensil like glass or cup in the room. But the stay was overall comfortable. The room cleaning service was not available, and I hope there were directions how to dispose the waste, like my stay was almost a week long, and I could not wait till the end of my stay.

As far as location is concerned it was great. Close to the tram terminal, subway and buses stopping outside the hotel. If you are into shopping it is all on your doorstep. The brew bar attached to the hotel is fantastic, both the beer and food are excellent. The onsite laundry was great, and the kitchen gave it the feel of a hostel not a hotel.

As with any city centre hotel it was noisy, and noisy on a par with New York. There were no hotel staff on site apart from cleaners in the morning, which meant if you wanted any local information you had to go there or to the information kiosk near the subway. Reception is in the Stafford Hotel on Powell Street, around the corner. As far as the city is concerned be prepared to dodge the homeless and the drugged up walking dead. However, beggars aren't a problem.

The location was excellent. The staff was nice. The bed was comfortable. Despite it being a busy area, there wasn't much noise, it was nice and quiet.

The safe was too small to fit a laptop; nothing happened to our laptops, but we would have felt safer if we could have left them in the safe when we went out. One of the bedside lamps wasn't working. There was no view, just a wall right outside our window, though that's not a main issue because we were always out exploring the city, and only came back to the hotel to take a shower and sleep.
