Just a quick trip overnight to see Michelle Wolf at Cobb's Comedy Club. The hotel is beautiful; the staff is friendly and professional. Our room was lovely, and we had a city view. The toiletries smelled good, and the bed was very comfortable, with excellent pillows. Ok, this is going to sound ridiculous and obviously it isn't a critical amenity... but I really loved the TV remote, lol! When you push the buttons, they feel like there's a click, but it doesn't really make a sound. It felt well-made. It was best TV remote I've ever used lol!! I wish I had taken a picture. I was also surprised at how quickly the parking valet brought our car.

I don't like all the extra resort charges and nickel-and-diming. Just include everything in the price. We didn't use any other facilities besides the room to sleep.

Wonderfully comfortable and quiet room. Nice big bed with soft mattress, linens and pillows. Lovely housekeeping staff who always came back to my room on their rounds as I left later in the morning. Room was on the 21st floor with a nice view. Great bathroom with a heated mirror (so it does not steam up) and japanese toilet also a big plus, always felt extra fresh 😅

Dated lobby and lifts. However, both very clean and well maintained. Lifts were always fast and very available. Slight nickle and dinming if you want to use extra services. Unhoused people nearby a non-issue - just don’t go west or immediately south of the hotel and you’ll be fine and have a very pleasant stay!

A wonderful hotel in the city center. Just a two-minute walk to a large Macy’s, the subway, the cable car, lots of different shops and dining options. Very good location. Room was clean, modern, there was a drinking water and ice machine on the floor. Breakfast was included with our booking, and that turned out to be a great decision. The breakfast was wonderful — eggs, bacon, fruit, yogurt, coffee...

The beds turned out to be unexpectedly narrow, they shouldn't offer that room for four adults. Also, even though the room was booked for four people, there were only two coffee cups. We paid for four adults, but all the amenities were set up for two. Nothing in the room was changed — the only difference was that the price was much higher for four people. The bathroom setup in the room was very strange: a separate toilet without a sink, and a separate bathroom with a sink, shower, and bathtub. Instead of a bathtub, it would have been better to have a toilet.

Location

Pricey and including a 20% gratuity on an already expensive meal at a bar in an already expensive hotel seems out of line. Im already a good tipper and I’d like to be the one determining the value of the individual servers. I believe they will be better at their job if the want to make more money.

Almost everything!

Parking prices high for valet. Breakfast meal didn’t taste good

This was our second time staying at the Hotel Nikko - the first was 14 years ago. This four-night stay was just as excellent as the last time. The property is lovely and the staff are all gracious. The rooms are quiet and spacious, and we had a great view on the 17th floor. The bed is comfortable. The pool is wonderful! We wished we could have spent more time there. The refillable water bottles in the room are thoughtful, as is the water filter in the hallway. I'm so glad we didn't stay at a big chain.

Only thing is that we had to pay $50 to check in early, even though a room was available.

We love that is it dog friendly and the restaurant & bar staff are great. Beds are comfy and some rooms have a phenomenal view.

We waited 90 minutes for the room to be ready yet we were told every 10 minutes “just give us 10 minutes”. That wasted our time. Despite requesting at booking a feather free room and being told the wait was due to them defeathering the room, the bedding still had down duvet and pillows. The room bathroom and towels were not super clean. The curtains didn’t shut properly. For the price we paid and given we are regulars we were a bit disappointed.

Very comfortable and clean - queen room with 2 large beds was perfect for a family with one 4 year old as it had both bath and shower, a small fridge and coffee machine with bespoke capsules. Everywhere was clean. Great gym and pool/spa area but missing cold plunge pool. Each floor has filtered water station and ice machine which is great.

Location is sketchy in the evenings and early mornings being in the Tenderloin as many homeless/drugged people are about, but for us with a small child it didn't matter too much as we were returning home by 8pm latest.

We got a complementary upgrade and the view from our room was amazing. The staff was always helpful and kind, especially the cleaners that were very respectful of our privacy. The gym was also very good and the hotel atmosphere in general was very relaxing in a busy city like SF.

There wasn't a coffee machine in the room, it's a small detail that made the difference in many hotels during our trip. We like waking up having a small coffee and this was not possible in this hotel.

Probably the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I travel a lot for work, and only stay in 4-5 star hotels (usual chains Hilton/Westin/etc.), and this is the best of them all. Room/food/service/cleanliness/location…all perfect. I did pay extra for an executive suite, with an adjoining twin Double for the kids…but our room was 10/10! Also, the access to the lounge meant free breakfast and more less free drinks/dinner if you were happy to make a meal out of all the complimentary food they make each evening (pizza, pasta, crackers and cheese, fresh fruit). It’s not pitched as dinner and you don’t get to choose…but it made for a perfectly good dinner for us one evening.

Hotel parking was extortionate, so we parked in the public car park across the road (half the price). Slight inconvenience, that I thought the hotel are empowered to fix for their guests.
