Double queen on the 6th floor, great location with easy access to multiple forms of transport. Room was clean and spacious, with overhead fans and windows that could be opened to let in a breeze. Great towels, and easy access to the hotel and room using swipe cards. Close access to ‘parent hotel’ and helpful staff.

Property was better than expected based on previous reviews, but it is basic… no air conditioning, microwave, fridge or washing machine. Union Square area is struggling with homeless issues but didn’t feel unsafe and good supermarket Walgreens next door.

The property is located in Union Square in San Francisco and very close to many businesses like Starbucks, various restaurants that it was not difficult to find food etc. Also I noticed that it was very quiet and peaceful in the room that I was not feeling disturbed at all.

Well one thing I did not like and it’s very minor is the fact that the ceiling fan light did not work for me. So I had to compensate by using the light from the sink light area and use the bathroom light with the door open to get light into the sleeping area. Also it was a warm day that day and there was no AC. But there was a ceiling fan so nothing major.

They gave me a free upgrade for the their sister hotel to Stratford. Normally I would stay in a shared bathroom at the Herbert hotel but I had my own bathroom room in Hotel Stratford.The room was small but cute and enough for me. Room was very clean. They also accepted my early check-in request because they had available rooms.

The hotel was very noisy because it was in Union Square, there was a constant noise throughout the day and night. There was no kettle or small refrigerator in the room.

After the reviews we were apprehensive, but honestly for a week our room was like our little home. We loved the hotel and the location was amazing for town. We were on the 5th floor and there was minimal noise any side of us. The desk staff were helpful at the Stratford and were really kind. We got drinks at the Bartlett and you get 10% off of food and drinks. The room was such good value for money. If you are visiting and will be out most of the time, it’s great! Rooms were secure and we felt safe, even without staff on the desk.

The only things we can say were that cleaning would of been nice free of charge however we get that we chose not to get that. Nothing else :)

it is a great base for exploring San Francisco. it is budget friendly and still in the middle of the city. has all the amenities that you need and its clean and comfortable

when checking in, you have to go to the lobby of a partner hotel across the road. this isnt very easily displayed and caused a bit of confusion when first turning up to check in. This means that there is no receptionist or staff in the hotel except cleaning and maintenance staff. in my opinion, this was fine as I wasn't needing any assistance from reception

I was a bit apprehensive when I booked this hotel because the reviews were quite polarised. But my stay turned out alright and the staff was friendly and helpful

Honestly this hotel is a bang for your buck! Recently stayed here for a 3 day solo trip and I couldn't have asked for a greater accommodation considering I just needed a private room to sleep in but not a fan of hostels. I did however book this under the "Shared Bathroom" option and it exceeded me expectations! Both bathroom and shower were always clean and had no issues with it being occupied whenever I needed to use either. Even though this place doesn't have a front desk person the sister hotel is right across the street. The room is spacious enough and the added sink in there is great. Also, I came straight from SFO airport using the BART train and it only took 30min to get here instead of using an Uber. Definitely recommend as you're close to everything and within no more than 10-15minutes walking distance from it all.

No AC in any of the rooms so it can get a bit stuffy especially now that it's summer time and you can't open the windows. Walls are pretty thin but just turn the TV on and you're good!

I like the location near to Union Square, the great price, the room have private room and was clean. The bed was comfortable, also the room have a small fridge, TV, desk, closeth for save your clothes and the building have elevator. Early checkin is available for free. Trade'r Joes and Powell Street Station just 3 minutes away!

There some homeless around but they didn't say anything to you. Also, they haven't store luggage service and housekeeping service, I stay there for 10 days and just clean my room one time because I asked them. Also, they need clean the windows outside.

Fantastic location, just a couple of minutes walk from Powell station. Very helpful staff. There was no kettle in my room and when I asked where I could get hot water, the staff on duty offered to put a kettle in my room and gave me tea bags. Also the room was pretty big and had a small walk-in wardrobe that was spacious. Really liked that.

There's no reception desk at this location but, one a couple of minutes ahead in another hotel. I didn't mind that but one day the homeless guy outside was inside the lobby. He was harmless but in SF, I guess one needs to be careful. But this was a minor issue.

It was very close to Moscone Center, BART and cable car. So, it was very easy to get around the city and go to the expo I went there for. Moreover, there is a Walgreens next door and two restaurants in the same block.

The room I got was with shared bathrooms with one key each. So, I had to be caring the keys all the time along with the room keycard. It was more of a nuisance than a problem in itself. Besides this, I was luck to have neighbours on the next room that were not too noisy as I could hear everything they did in their room.
