We booked two rooms at the Royal Pacific Motor Inn and were pleasantly surprised. While it’s a motel, its location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Chinatown and just a short walk from the Italian quarter, making it perfect for food lovers and city explorers. The rooms were clean, basic, but comfortable—just what we needed for a good night’s rest. One major highlight is the free parking, which is a real gem in San Francisco where parking is usually expensive and hard to find. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. I’d absolutely recommend it—100%!

Staff is professional, friendly, helpful! You cannot beat the location and the place to put your car (especially if you've road tripped to SF). You can walk to many neighborhoods and attractions, drive to others! Clean, everything works. Full length mirror. Someone who needs lots of frills in their hotel might find it lacking, even though our unit had a balcony. It can be a bit noisy but that is Broadway ! - still worth it! Thank you, RPMI

Outstanding location. Cannot be beat. Staff is very nice. Always answer emails through booking. Older but WELL MAINTAINED. Beds comfy. Bit firm. But comfy. No AC seldom needed. Rooms have fans. Views are great outside courtyard a bit louder. Inside courtyard still nice views but quieter. Have stayed here for our bi yearly trip for years. Seldom use our car once here. Have had up to 3 rooms meeting friends and family. We all stay here again and again. Hope they keep it the same lovely and affordable stay.

Amazing location at an amazing price. Walking distance to all of the major tourist attractions in that area of the city. Located at the corner of Chinatown and North Beach (Little Italy) and 20 minutes from Fisherman's Wharf and Union Square. Plus it INCLUDES parking. Amazing. Staff was super friendly and nice, bed was comfortable, not luxurious but more than adequate for the price.
The room was loud - I had a street side room, and between garbage collection, street cleaning, restaurants closing, etc, it was loud. By the third night was pretty much used it, but coming from a quiet place be warned. In reality, though, the noise at night was worth it for the amazing location. It is literally like living in the city.

Great location in Chinatown and on a bus line. Tons of restaurants nearby. Comfortable bed. Very good value for money.
Rooms are not sound-insulated. There's lots of street noise at night, so pack earplugs if that's an issue for you. When I checked in, credit card machine wasn't working and staff asked for cash deposit; seemed sketchy but they gave me a receipt and returned it the next day when the credit card machine was working. Wi-Fi was pretty weak/slow where my room was -- they need better coverage.

I absolutely loved the location in Chinatown—super convenient for grabbing delicious meals just steps away from the inn! Every bite was a treat. The elevator was quick, which was a relief after long days of exploring the city. Plus, the balcony had amazing views; I could see the Oakland Bridge lit up at night, which was such a nice touch after a long day of sightseeing. It was the perfect spot to unwind with a cup of tea! Oh, and it's a short mile walk to Pier 39 too. Really central location.
One thing to note was that the parking situation was a bit cramped—finding a spot was a little tricky at times. But honestly, given all the perks of the location and the experience, it was easy to overlook. There was a valet downstairs.

I really liked the hotel’s central location – it felt safe, and everything was within walking distance. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the possibility to make coffee and tea in the room. Parking was also included, which was a big plus.
What I didn’t like was that there were some hairs on the duvet from previous guests. While the pillowcase, sheets, and towels were clean, I would have appreciated it if the duvet had been freshly washed or changed as well.

We stayed for 3 nights while visiting San Francisco. The hotel is a bit dated, but very clean, quiet, and feels safe. Facilities are well maintained and work just fine. It’s right in the heart of Chinatown—lively in the mornings and evenings, with lots of food and shopping nearby. You can even see the Transamerica Pyramid from the courtyard. Free, spacious, and secure parking is a huge plus. The owner and front desk staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

We stayed for one night to attend a North Beach festival. The location and price of hotel were both great. The location is perfect to tour both North Beach and Chinatown. Rooms were clean and comfortable, if a little dated. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was free which is a great bonus if you are driving to SF. Tons of great food around hotel. Overall a good stay in a great location.
Our room faced the road and was a little noisy. Hard to avoid anywhere in SF.

Location was just on outskirts of China Town which was great. Free parking which is a huge bonus in such a large city, especially as we were only there for 2 nights and mostly used public transportation, so was good knowing our car was parked somewhere safe. Rooms are a decent size and whilst a little tired, was absolutely fine for our needs. The room was pretty quiet given we were in a busy area.
The extractor fan in the bathroom made a weird noise but not enough for us to complain about.
