We liked that the hotel was very convenient, and easy to find. There was ample parking in the parking garage, and getting to our room was relatively easy. I know it's hard to keep a classic hotel clean and updated and this one is showing it's wear and tear. It has a great story about the movie stars that have stayed there. There was a Thanksgiving buffet that looked really good although we were with family for Thanksgiving.

They did not have coffee available downstairs, the restaurant did not open til 11:00AM The only coffee provided was the terrible room coffee. There was no sugar, only artificial sweetener. They did not refill the coffee since we stayed 2 days the second day we did without. The lady at the desk said the nearest coffee was about a 1/2 mile away which was super inconvienient. It would seem for the price of the room there would be some provided already made, or at least an effort to refill the supplied room coffee as awful as it was.

The restaurant. The food was fantastic. The old charm of the hotel and garden. Staff was nice too.

The furnishings in my room 221 were a little banged up. not horrible, but dated and cheap looking. It was like 90's furniture trying to look like furniture from the classic days of Hollywood. I stayed in the ''haunted'' Rudolph Valentino room. A room he stayed in apparently. You would think they would give this room a little more attention as far as real or more vintage looking furnishings and not the stuff they have in there now. Some people may not be able to tell the difference, but I can, and I was disappointed by the furnishings they have in the room now. But the room was clean. Bedding and bath were clean.

Hotel was great, has great character and charm. The room was large and comfortable. Sunday brunch was an amazing spread (but a bit costly).

Apparently we did not know about a formal occasion and needed reservations for the in house restaurant so we were kindly directed to their bar for dinner which was fine, however, we were never waited on. Even after trying to get the bar tenders attention for 10 plus minutes right at the bar, he never acknowledged our existence. Had to seek dinner elsewhere.

The location is close to perfect because it is near leisure shopping centers and grocery stores, and the room was petty clean and well kept. I also was so comfortable sleeping through the night and the staff is very kind and accommodating. Overall, I loved it!

The room did not already have its own microwave, but the staff will supply one if asked, and it is right next to Santa Maria High School so the traffic can be heavy at certain times in the day.

everything went well, staff was very polite, check-in went smoothly, didn't have any issue finding my room. It was neat and clean. I would absolutely go back for sure 100% and would highly recommend!

The only thing I did not like was that, there were a few teenagers running down the hall, late at night and were loud. I understand there was an event, but those kids clearly were not part of it because we ran into them in the elevators going up and down a few times being very loud, and running screaming in the halls, while we are trying to get sleep; I feel like they were from outside, and since there was an event going on, it was very easy to crash in and be silly, it was late past 12:30am and they were just crazy

The pool is very nice. They serve Margaritas also 🍸👍. The panoramic view from the Fifth floor is awesome. Very friendly staff. We didn't have a microwave at first. When I went to the front desk to ask to use one, she had housekeeping delivery it. Thank you reminding us of what customer service meant long ago.... 🌹

The late check-in. We couldn't check in until 3:00 p.m. ... Now I reserved it again tonight so we can relax and enjoy our start even better 😊

Historic Inn, filled with quaint pre decade deco. The log fires had now turned to gas flame for what ever reason, fires with logs with a red flickering light would have made the fireplaces more authentic. Gym reasonably equipped, sauna never used, hot tub as it days on the tin? Pool chilly but could be down to cold winds. Hotel with staff who suggest places to eat along will in house restaurant and knowledge about the area. This Inn needs a patience to explore.

We had an unexpected stay and had to book our stay the night before we got there. I did it through Booking.com. When we arrived at the property the booking was not showing up. Long story short - the first, very pleasant lady was training and her training had gone to lunch, so we had to wait maybe 15 minutes for her to return. The first lady, worked to the best of her ability to figure out what happened. Once the experienced lady got there, she said she used to work for booking.com and new how to fix the problem. She apologized profusely for our inconvenience and then upgraded us to a suite. She gave us directions on where to grab something quick to eat and was very helpful and pleasant throughout our stay.

The inside of the hotel is beautiful. Very historic and preserved well, it felt like I was in the 1920s. The rooms are decent sized and the bed was comfortable. I like that the room had a mini fridge, but a microwave would have been nice too.

In the lobby there is no water for guests. The towels are not soft and after showering it was hard to dry myself. The floors inside the room look dirty and have random stains. At night you can hear homeless yelling outside which woke me up.

The hotel was very clean, my room quiet and comfortable, close to my sister's house so very convenient for me.

There was no breakfast included, the coffee for the room was ok but it would have been nice if they had brewed coffee available in a common area and maybe light breakfast items.
