The rooms are thoughtfully maintained, and the beds are incredibly comfortable—perfect for a restful night’s sleep. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. The owners go above and beyond, offering what might be the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. From a delicious, made-to-order breakfast with farm-fresh eggs and a surprise morning treat, to bottomless coffee served with genuine warmth, every detail is done with care. They even accommodated my unique sleeping arrangement without hesitation and made the room feel extra special. I’m so grateful I booked this place—it exceeded all expectations. I’ll absolutely be returning, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, unforgettable stay.

It was beautiful and inviting and such a respite for us on our road trip. The stream was beautiful, the apple trees were exciting to see for our kids, and there was plenty of space for them to run around and explore after a long drive. We have a 6 and 11 year old. The owners made my kids feel so at home, and I left something important behind and their communication and response time to help me out was next level. I can’t recommend this Inn to stay at enough. It’s a little more than some of the other properties we looked at in town and we are so thrilled we made the choice to stay at the Apple Orchard Inn. Worth every penny and more. If you can book a night here, you should! I haven’t even mentioned the food, and the breakfast was phenomenal. Next time we are in the area again we will absolutely be back, no question!

James and Leslie are very nice! We enjoy our stay, the breakfast was the highlight of our stay with different dish each morning, highly appreciate it. close to the hot spring. you can get towels for the hot spring from the owners :)

We stayed at the main building the room was dated :( The armchairs in the "Rome beauty" room needs renovation room is too dark; one cannot read a book there. the common areas are very nice but the remote for the lightning is hidden... need to ask for it 4 days stay without any cleaning, no garbage disposal is not reasonable. with 3 nights stay you can ask for room cleaning but we did not asked We heard that the Cottage are much better

We loved our stay at the Apple Orchard Inn. The Inn is on a beautiful site about 20 minutes outside the wonderful town of Durango. We really enjoyed walking around the grounds of the Inn and looking at the flowers. Our room (in the main house) was well equipped and comfortable and we valued the free bottled water. The breakfast was wonderful, and also a sociable time as we enjoyed talking to other guests. The owners were very helpful, friendly and hospitable - for instance we needed to eat early one morning in order to get the Durango train excursion, and the owners were very helpful in getting us out on time. We really wished we could have stayed longer.

Oh, what a nice property! Little houses, separated from each other in a well-maintained orchard. Birds are singing in the garden, and a small creek is running through it. The little houses offer a lot of privacy. Unfortunately, during the night, the close road was a little noisy. At the lovely breakfast, we had a nice chat with the owners and other guests. The on-site freshly made omelette and the English biscuit with butter and self-made jam were not a lot of food but yummy!

The property is out of town and in a rather pastoral and quiet location. The grounds are beautiful with a pond and a stream meandering throughout. We stayed in a lovely room in the main house. The fun of a bnb is meeting fellow travelers and enjoying a hot breakfast In warmer weather, we could have eaten at one of the tables on the deck next to the pond. Our hosts couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The cottages were all charming, well maintained, and nestled comfortably among the trees and vegetation of the garden. Rocking chairs were on the front porches. A most enjoyable experience.

Roosters crowing at 6:00 a.m. But we are early risers so it wasn't a problem. Our room was next to the chicken coop so you could ask for a room away from it.

We upgraded to a cottage that became available just before our arrival. It was like heaven! We had a porch with rocking chairs and a swing which we took full advantage of by toasting our arrival in Durango. The cottage was quaint and romantic and perfect for our vacation stay. The bed was so comfortable and the AC worked efficiently. The grounds were lushly planted with natural foliage and stunning flowers. The green lawns invited taking off one's shoes to feel the cool, soft grass caress one's toes (coming from the desert this was a true delight!). Little streams ran throughout the property. Chickens clucked and socialized in their coop, and presumably laid the eggs we enjoyed for breakfast the next morning. The breakfast apple compote was divine and set the stage for the delicious homemade quiche (we had a selection of three) and the scrumptious coffee cake. The indoor dining area was charming and gave us the opportunity to chat with our hosts who were both very interesting, accomplished and engaging people. There was a beautiful, lush patio area as well in which many guests chose to sit to enjoy their breakfast. Before we departed, we ordered a fresh baked apple pie - OMG, it was beyond delicious! We snacked on it during the rest of our road trip and it just got better!

The whole experience could NOT have been improved upon. It was perfection in every regard!

We love the location and have visited in the past. The owners are so friendly and attentive.

We booked a deluxe room which included a spa tub. The drain did not seal and leaked all the tub water out. Turning on the jets brought hair and I don't know what else out into the tub water so we didn't use the tub again. Booking said room over looked the garden but actually was the chicken coop and parking lot. The garden window is to high to see anything. Hair nets or hair put up in a bun should be implemented due to finding hair in the fresh made breakfast.

Location is excellent: far enough out of town to avoid the crowds and traffic. The owners, Jim and Leslie, are excellent hosts: very welcoming and easy to chat with. The ambiance of the grounds is superb: foliage, brook running through the property, no bugs, pond.

Two personal quirks: The lighting in the cottage was inadequate for old eyes, especially at night. A central light (linked to the fan?) would help. Second, the shower seat appeared to have developed a case of mold (blackening).

Jim and Leslie were delightful hosts. They go beyond to make their guests feel at home, from home baked treats, made to order breakfasts, and helpful hints to the local attractions. The grounds are just beautiful with gardens, a babbling brook, and ponds complete with paring ducks. The Durango Silverton narrow gage train runs by the back of the property to make for some great photos. The Inn sits in a quiet rural community 10 minutes from the heart of historic Durango. We will definitely be returning to the Apple Orchard Inn the next visit to Durango.
