The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff was courteous. The location was great; we could walk almost anywhere downtown or be there within a few minutes by Uber. Definitely better than some of the other pricier hotels in the area.

The elevators were very slow, and even though I am a Hyatt Place member, breakfast was not included. I was a bit surprised since this has never been the case when I stayed at other locations. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay for me and my family.

Excellent location in the Loop, close to Business district. Free breakfast. I've stayed at this hotel 4 or 5 times over past 2 years.

Shower in the room did not have doors. Water spilling all over the bathroom floor.

Someone came into my room at 7am while I sleep on the last day, and it was not housekeeping. Felt very uncomfortable. Apparently, no one knows who it was.

The customer service was excellent. Brandon at the front desk went above and beyond. Everything was clean and in good shape for the most part. The location was perfect for walking to many points of interest or catching a subway to those further away. Our room (two beds plus a sofa bed) was large enough for a family of 4 with teenagers. The street noise was occasionally loud, which is to be expected for that location, but indoors it was so quiet that I would have thought we had the floor to ourselves if I hadn’t seen other guests waiting for the elevator.

We didn’t use the sofa bed because it was kind of gross, but the couch part was nice and clean and we had space for an air mattress we had brought. I know it’s the city and parking is ridiculous everywhere, but another $55 per night to park in a garage a block away just feels like such a rip off. It would be great if the hotel could work out a deal for their guests to have a discount. Brandon helped us with getting parking set up quickly, which was really appreciated after a hectic drive in city traffic. Also, we were disappointed that the pool was only open until 8pm. It would have been nice to be able to swim after a long day of sightseeing.

Excellent location. It’s hard to find a hotel that will fit a family of 4 as USA hotels do not do twins. So the sofa bed was a good option. Clean rooms which are a good size nice and quiet.

Breakfast was just to busy. At ,east 20 mins in a line for one of the days and not enough seating. They do give you peak times so definitely eat at non peak.

The location was great, in the heart of Chicago but not on the noisy and buzz Magnificent Miles. The facility was actually quiet. My room was on the corner facing two streets. Its two walls were glass windows. The elevator had its security; guests were required to use their room key cards to access the elevator panel. The room was clean and spacious, even the shower space, too. The supplies in the room were adequate; though I prefer to use my own toiletry, just my habit to keep my sensitive skin content. Coffee & tea in the room were good.

Alas, I wish there were no tier difference in the breakfast service. When checking in, front desk ladies said "don't forget to come for breakfast". When going to the breakfast room, there was a lady sitting there writing your name to charge your room. However, most of the guests simply strided into the room, I assumed they were offered free breakfast because of their Hyatt gold cards, or.... During the time in the breakfast room, I saw only one more group (of three) signed up for breakfast. How about giving gold card guests breakfast tickets? So no freeloaders? Just my two cents.

Breakfast was good. We were confused initially as the staff said changes had been made between the hotel and third party operators eg. Booking.com and it was likely breakfast for our family of 5 would not be covered. We had booked this hotel specifically for that reason and had stayed in other Hyatt Place hotels with great breakfasts. Thankfully, the breakfast staff were kind enough to see that there had been a miscommunication between business and we were to to blame for that. Breakfast was wonderful!

The pool was TOO cold. Another reason we booked at Hyatt place was for the pool. We shivered along with other travellers and asked if the temperature could be turned up. Nothing seemed to change. Also, hours of pool..8pm is too early to close the pool when you have kids who have patiently travelled around the various sights of Chicago and cannot wait to enjoy the pool. By the time we had dinner and got back to the hotel, they just didn't have enough time to play. For kids, this is one of the most fun times of a holiday.

What I like is you cannot be on another floor unless that is your floor so I thought this is awesome. This will be my main place to go in Chicago. Except I got put across some very loud running teenagers. It would be helpful if maybe people with families were put on a different floor, but it did get handled so I appreciated that. Everyone was super friendly. I had requested a top floor, which they were very accommodating and put me at the end of the hallway. I had a great view very close to the parking garage and lyric Opera House.

So, so comfortable. The bed is one of the best I've had at a hotel. We just bought a new mattress a few months ago and we still took a picture of the mattress tag because I slept like a log. I was disappointed we were only staying overnight The employee who checked us on was so nice when I stupidly was scammed in a ride frim the train station for $50 to go 6 blocks. She gave us a free dessert, which we really appreciated, and comisserated with us.

It was a little isolated from livelier parts of the city, but that was fine. Other than that, we loved it.

The breakfast was not free.
