I liked how well the design of the hotel was. It was very distinguished from any other hotel that I’ve been to, in a very simple way. The area was quiet that I had some of my best nights sleep. It was at a walking distance from many attractions around Chicago.

I never liked hidden charges, amenity charges, etc. I feel that it takes away some of the fair market competition where consumers get to choose based on the full price. However, I think it’s worth what I paid for.

We loved it! We liked the historic details of the hotel, the high ceilings and lots of light in the shared spaces… The Fillmore restaurant on the ground level was excellent. We really enjoyed having our coffee in the morning in the lounge space.

Limited amenities… The room was a bit small and had a small window. We had to call for maid service and they didn’t show up until the afternoon when we were in the room. I would like maid service to be automatic without having to ask for it.

The hotel was lovely and very clean. The room was cozy and very clean. All of the staff were helpful, courteous, and kind. The evening reception was a nice place to gather before heading out for the evening. The location was perfect for exploring downtown. We would stay again, but we'd request a room higher up.

We were on a lower floor at the back of the hotel and several times for an hour plus during the night to early morning (pre 6 an) there was a lot of noise in the alley- trucks running, backing up/beeping, and moving what sounded like heavy metal containers or dumpsters. It was extremely loud from 1-2 am and 5-6 am, and an elevated level one other time. It kept me awake the entire time and disrupted my heavy sleeper partner from time to time.

Loved the bed, bathroom, and gym facilities. Bathrobes and wonderful smelling bath supplies are consistently great at Kimpton. I also enjoy the free wine during happy hour and good coffee in morning

Location isn’t wonderful; there was a lot of construction noise in the morning. Also — our room layout, although a king deluxe, was odd and didn’t have a couch, comfy chair, etc. Very awkwardly laid out and not conducive to feeling cozy, though decor was very nice. Also breakfast at restaurant was very slow.

Excellent location from Union Station. We were able to walk from the station to the hotel and then to the Art Institute, the Symphony Center, and to many great restaurants. Plus, free wine happy hour, served in a very pleasant area … AND all the staff were friendly and helpful! It was our second stay at the Gray … and there will be a third!

The carpeted stairs leading from the entrance to the check in desk might have been a little better illuminated… the first/last step was easy to trip on.

The property is very special - the attention to detail is amazing. We were especially enchanted with the elevators! We couldn’t find the room type we wanted on the website (two doubles) but they were more than happy to upgrade us when we arrived. The room was immaculate, the concierge and front desk very helpful and the valet staff were all lovely. We actually stayed here twice - check in was quick and easy. We tried Boleo and the Fillmore and would recommend both. The atmosphere in Boleo was lovely - the staff were very attentive. We used the Fillmore for room service and it was very efficient and well presented. The location is central and easy to get most places tourists will want to see - planetarium, zoo, aquarium, Field Museum etc.

The hotel was very clean, the staff were very friendly, the location was amazing, the room was very spacious and comfortable.

For the price we paid, I expect for them to provide bottles of water in the room (and not expect us to pay 4 dollars per bottle). I also expect them to put a coffee machine / station in the room (which is standard practice). Also, housekeeping after maintaining the room very well should place new toilet paper rolls - we shouldn’t have to ask.

Hotel was in a beautiful old building, very clean, staff were fabulous, room was very comfortable and quiet

Room was not stacked with a mini bar or pay for products, no salts, balms or bubbles for the bath - called the desk and they brought a very small salt option, isn’t really close to anything great but within a 10-15 minute walk to most places.

Beautiful overall ambiance! Relaxing dim lighting throughout the halls and updated tech features made the feel even more luxurious. Such great character and beautifully designed features.

The bedding was not very comfortable and felt very rough. Also the room temperature stayed around 72 degrees even though I set it to 65…

Great location- very close to Lakefront- easy Blueline to OHare! Quiet! Love Kimpton happy hour and bikes!

A little bit of a strange lay out - former office building that shares space with other uses now -rooftop restaurant wasn’t particularly interesting.
