The staff accommodated an upgrade when my first room was not as great (see below). They had a lovely attitude about the whole thing and were very helpful and nice.

I was originally booked in an "interior" room, which had no windows at all! This made for a dreary experience. I would not have been as upset by this if I'd known ahead of time this was the case for an inexpensive room or even if I knew it was a possibility, but being surprised by this fact was quite annoying. It seems this would be a selling point for people seeking an Anne Rice New Orleans experience.

Growing up in Las Vegas, we understand hospitality and tourism. The housekeeping did great, and the front desk people were all exceptional!! They also gave suggestions for places to go and restaurants to go to, and different tours to do. And for those who would be interested....the hotel is also haunted. There is a woman and a couple kids that haunt the hotel, and apparently they had a small dog. We have a small dog that will jump up on our bed at night and sleep with us, and we left her at home. One night my wife went to bed and I went to some jazz clubs. While I was gone after she fell asleep, she felt something small jump up on the bed, move to the middle of the bed, and cuddle up next to her. She felt the blanket squish up next to her, as if something layed on top of the blanket and up against her. She grabbed her phone and turned on the flashlight, and nothing was there. The room also has a lot of character with old wood floors, and antique furniture. The bed was really comfortable. All of the locals were even really nice and polite. We will definitely be back to New Orleans, and Lamothe House will be where we stay. They even had a heated pool and Jacuzzi. Location was right on the edge of French Quarter, and just a block away from Frenchman for the jazz clubs. We were there during Mardi Gras and it was just a few blocks from the action, which meant it was far enough away to not be noisy so we could sleep. Highly recommend!!

No elevator to the 3rd floor, water pressure in shower was really strong on scalding hot but when you adjusted the temperature to more manageable there was very little water pressure. But it still worked. It's an almost 200 year old building. And once housekeeping forget to restock our bottles of water. All were minor.

We loved the location of the hotel! It was close enough to walk most places and drives were very short. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony with my book, and my partner liked getting to walk downstairs for a cup of coffee in the mornings.

The latch on the door was very misaligned, so we had to force it closed every night. There was less than a foot of space between the toilet and the sink (I'm not very tall, but anyone else might have an issue, including my partner). There was no fridge in the room, which was our fault for not checking (and wasn't a big deal, but might be for others!).

The location was exactly what I wanted. A 2 minute walk from Frenchmen St. is lovely at the end of the night. The room was very clean and cool and I was pleasantly surprised that it was fairly sound proof. Especially once I turned on the fan, I didn't hear any of the outside noise.

I was in a room in the building on Kerlerec St, which did not have the charm of the main building and seemed a bit isolated. It was fine, but could have used a chair, a rug, and bright color paint on the step into/out of the bathroom. I did have access to the courtyard with the pool from the main building.

Love the location. The property was neat with the multiple houses converted into a hotel and a pool in the courtyard. The room was nice and clean and spacious. My complaints are few. The toilet in my bathroom ran for a very long time after being used. Something is wrong with the float. And, the location of my room made it noisy. I was on the first floor next to the street and the gate that guests used. So, every time someone entered or exited, the gate slammed shut. People walking by drunkenly were loud, and the people who walked all over their room in shoes above me were also annoyingly loud.

We booked Lamothe House entirely due to its great location, steps from all the great Frenchman Street food and entertainment. Everything we wanted to do around Bourbon Street and the French Quarter was an easy walk away as well. The very simple lobby gives way to a charming interior courtyard sporting a goldfish pond and a pool. The lobby had popcorn and warm cookies during the day. The pool is legit, although our mid-February visit was a little chilly for a swim. The spa end of the pool though is apparently heated, so pack swimwear. Also the room was very affordable for it being so close to Mardi Gras!

Let me add up front that we were very happy with our experience, but this next detail might deter some people. Our room was tiny, some would say cramped. We knew that though, and having rented similarly tight quarters in San Francisco recently it didn’t bother us. Price we were happy to pay to enjoy the late music scene on Frenchman with a three minute walk home for the night. If you plan to spend hours in the room you might want to book a larger suite. Our particular room was lacking only one thing that comes to mind, and that is hooks or shelves to hang your stuff on. Add a couple coat/purse hangers by the door and a shelf in the bathroom for our toiletries, and we would have had zero to complain about.

This location was excellent - in between the edge of the French Quarter and right next to "Frenchman's Street" but still quiet and quaint! I walked everywhere and enjoyed the beautiful architecture on the surrounding streets. The staff was friendly, efficient and welcoming. The pool and hot tub were great! How picturesque to sit and soak in the evening, looking at the palms and charming architecture of the courtyard. The bathroom and room were very clean. I enjoyed the feeling of being in an old structure with wooden floors, brick walls and traditional character. Sleeping in comfortable white linens with high ceilings was a true delight.

The street was quiet and there was a convenience store a few blocks up. Though Frenchman's street is just a few blocks over, there wasn't anything immediately near by to grab food late at night (my flight arrived close to midight). This is not a big deal and I apprecited the coffee and tea available 24 hours a day.

It is really close to very busy areas so you can leave the car and walk 300 feet from our room was a 15 peace marching band and with our door closed you would not have known they were there very quiet and peaceful room

It would have been nice to know we were actually in a different house on another block I thought I was booking a room In Lamotge house I had access to its common areas and pool but my room was not at that house or address

Pool, comfortable beds, beautiful building, in French quarter and short walk to quite a few sights. They close the pool to clean/shock mid week so check before you jump in.

Some rooms are actually across the street in a separate building. The room was gorgeous (obviously newer than the ones in the original building) but the wifi didn’t reach and I didn’t feel as safe as there was no fence. They did move me for my second night onwards because of the wifi problem. Do ask if you need wifi.

Everything .. I would love to recommend this place 100%. You will get everything you need on your vacation. The hotel itself really beautiful. Prepare your swimming suit if you travel in summer time. The room is beautiful also the building was built in the 1830. Lovely place to stay. They provide everything, coffee machine, ice bucket, amenities etc. The staff really helpful. Carol is really kind .. love her. Also Jay as well. I definitely come back here again for sure. This place is walkable to almost tourist attractions. Very close to Frenchman street for Jazz club. I stayed here 3nights and feel not enough. ;)
