The A/C did not work well, it was hot in my room all night. The ceiling fan only had Low speed.

The breakfast at the restaurant on the first floor was very delicious. The bed was extremely comfortable and the location was very quiet.

The breakfast at the restaurant on the first floor was very delicious. And the room I was in was a room with no light coming in from the window at first, but I was able to change it to a room with light for $20 a night.

Location is great. Area felt safe. Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. I like that the hotel has an older feel with a comfortable lobby including comfy sofas and chairs. I found the winding way to the elevator on my side of building to be interesting with local artwork on the brick walls. The room was a good size with vintage desk and drawers. The bed was comfortable and ceiling fan was perfect for October. This premium Queen room has two windows over Lafayette St so there was something to see when open. Coffee was fine in a.m. especially sitting in lobby or waiting for an Uber. Several wooden benches outside too. Compere Lapin restaurant was great and not to be missed. I also got a Sazerac from Michael, the bartender. A good nightcap. Peche Seafood restaurant is nearby (5 min walk). It is also great. Both were active with lively crowds. A big thank you to the night staff when I couldn't open my safe with items I needed for an early flight home. The Engineer arrived within 5 minutes to open it. Whew!

Building is old so this is not your chain hotel and I knew that. Room floor does squeak but it did not bother me. There is an Ohm Lounge on Lafayette and they partied until 2:30AM except on Sunday. Did not bother me much but it's loud. Bathroom is not great. 1. WC on door is funny but Commode Seat is so low you need a crane to stand up. These should be outlawed. 2. Shower is old. Pressure could be better. Head was dirty, looked like it was growing something and never cleaned. 3. Paint was peeling in big pieces from Shower floor. Stone underneath it was better. 4. Towels were not compatible with price for room. Not paper towels but needs improvement.

We stayed here once before, 9 years ago. We came back because it has a cool vibe with lots of art and tile and plants and wood. It's not a sterile generic hotel. Great location to walk to the Conference Center. Most things are in walking distance if you have good shoes. Our room was large with a decent bed.

Its not a new building, so the floors are uneven and creaky, as is the furniture. The only real bummer is the room has no way to make coffee or tea and the restaurant downstairs doesn't start serving coffee until 7:30 for $4/cup. Closest am coffee is Starbucks by the conference center, about a 15 minute walk.

The room was one of the most uniquely decorated rooms I've stayed in. It was wonderful. Loved how big and comfortable the bed was. Also, loved that there was a fan in the room to help circulate the air. You never see that and it was appreciated. The provided bathroom amenities smelled heavenly. Even though the window didn't provide a lot of light, there was plenty of light sources that helped set the ambiance. The location was close to everywhere! I stayed for a concert and it was a short walk down the street. There were plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance as well as a restaurant and cafe in the hotel itself. Parking was conveniently across the street.

I didn't really like that the wooden floors in the room were so squeaky and loud and the carpeted floors in the hallway were also very loud. I feel you could hear anyone simply walking in the hallway. The only other gripe I have is the mini fridge locked every single time you closed it and needed to use the key to reopen.

The location was perfect (kitty corner to Mother's! and a short walk down to Bourbon Str.). The lobby was impressively cool and the room had so much charm and style. Loved the comfortable bed, large room and bathroom, great water pressure.

The only downside was an almost deafening white noise hum that you could only hear when trying to go to sleep. I don't know if this is unique to the corner where the 270's numbered rooms are from some nearby generator, elevator, central air unit in the building or across the street or what but it was so loud. So I would request a quieter room next time.

It's a fantastic place. The modernized old building has style and flair. Cool art in the rooms, comfy beds, older style but very functional bathrooms all made the stay nice. Nice high ceilings in the rooms. Complementary water and liquid IV was a great touch. The location was priceless! Within walking distance of French quarter and lots and lots of shopping and attractions. We were there for a concert at the Fillmore and it was very close. I would definitely recommend this lodging to others.

No vegan options at the on-site restaurant was a bit disappointing. There was one option for a veggie sandwich, but they were out of avocado and redused to change the price of the sandwich. It was a bit pricey as a place to stay, but I feel that the decor and gallery on-site made everything worth it

The hotel staff were cordial and pleasant, and always helpful when I had a question. The housekeepers were always quick to move their carts so I could pass in the hallway without my asking. One man - Housekeeping? Maintenance? - always had a broad grin for me and gave me many Mardi Gras beads that had been abandoned in rooms. They all made me feel welcome. I appreciated the unique character and personality of the building and I enjoyed the art gallery. I was able to easily walk to good restaurants in the immediate area and to the French Quarter.

The restaurant staff were consistently short with me, always too busy to give me time. They seemed to resent answering my questions when I inquired about my silverware and napkin. How was I supposed to know I had to get them myself and where they were located?

It was very cool and interesting, liked the artwork and furniture in the rooms, didn't use the honor bar but, it was a nice touch, good location, would stay here again

uneven floors could be an issue for some- not for us but, just noticed how up and down they were and navigating the halls/elevators was confusing but, also part of the charm, room could have been cleaner, had to troubleshoot the TV but, was eventually able to get it working, Nothing terrible to say about this place, just a few things we noticed. Also the parking, was weird, there may have been something about it on the website and I missed it but, better instructions on where to park to check in, I saw the sign (which is very cool) but, then the door looked like the restaurant entrance and there were all these people waiting outside - kind of blocking the door- it was just confusing

The fun staff here are Awesome and very Helpful!:) I loved the interior design and the bed was very comfy! Nice spacious rooms, hangers to hang one's clothing and good sized Bathroom with plenty of fluffy towels!:) I loved the location too. Gorgeous hotel with fun local artwork! The creme brulee at "Compere Lapin" restaurant was delicious! Love the little espresso/pastry bar too!

Saturday night there was a club across the street from my room with pounding music & people talking on the street till 4-5am. Had some trouble sleeping because of it. The heavy light blocking curtains didnt help much with the bass from next door. Other than that, it was A lovely stay!:)
