First timer, had lower expectations due to the location and 'motel', but I needed a place to stay for a night and the price was good. Boy, was I wrong to judge so quickly! Very welcoming and personable host, GREAT room: modern, clean, comfy, quiet, lovely!!! Full fridge(king room) vs the usual little dorm-size, large room, very clean. Breakfast included was just the right mix: Coffee, tea, juice, both bagels & waffles, cereal, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, a great start to the day. There's an outside sitting area in front, and what looks like a wonderful built-in pool that I didn't have time to use, unfortunately. It's clear that the owners and staff take great pride in and care of everything, including the beautiful flowers and plantings. A+++++!

No extra pull-across security lock on the door inside. Need these, please.

Charles greeted us at reception and gave us great dinner advice. The room was clean and had a good layout. The beds were very comfortable. The freezer and refrigerator were useful. Charles even came into our room at check-in to show us how the remote worked and to make sure that the heat was properly on for the evening because it was rainy and chilly outside.

I hate when a bathroom sink isn't in the bathroom. Our room had a locked door to a door next door, and we could hear the neighbor with allergies coughing throughout the night. The room is soundproofed, so you dont hear the highway, but we could hear the neighbors through the thin door to the adjoining room.

The best thing probably about the Lodge is the owner/manager who is always at the front desk, happily ,and with good humor (a twinkle in the eyes, even!). You can tell that he loves what he does, and he has been there many, many years by now. He will regale you with fascinating stories that have played out locally, especially during the breakfast buffet. He himself is there in the mornings, carefully setting up the coffee, fresh bagels, and other items. It is a well cared for place because of his attention to detail. Charles (just now recalled the name) employs nice people to clean up the rooms, and look after the grounds, especially the one young lady who lives there. He also helps out folks who may be in need of temporary housing by cutting them a good deal. The rooms are pretty, and done up in colonial charm. I always appreciate the kind of motel where you park in front of your room.

Overall, a great experience! Just after booking one night, I realized I had reserved the wrong night - and was thrilled that, by calling the Lodge directly, my error was quickly corrected AND I was assured that, despite our arriving at midnight, after their front office closes for the night, that they would arrange for an easy way for us to get into our room upon our arrival. Our late arrival did, indeed, go very smoothly. Also, our very clean room with homemade curtains, came with breakfast and a comedy show that concluded with the owner/comedian sending us off with a bucket full of fish from the overcrowded lobby fish tank - to fill a much smaller tank with accessories (needing fish) already in our car as we took our oldest child back to college.

I liked the location - was very easy to find! It emanated a lovely peaceful feeling yet was not far from the freeway ,and I had driven all day from Canada. I liked the friendly welcoming feeling of the place, and I liked the fact that the furniture made of real wood, and even the bedspreads seemed to be made of a natural material, creating an overall quaint homey atmosphere. And the owner was friendly to all the guests and there was a nice breakfast ( self-serve) in the morning. Very reasonably priced- another plus- compared to some other motels in the area.

We needed a one night stay that was near Portland, but also close to the highway. The Lodge was perfect for that. The price was good, the room was large, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was good as well.

The entire facility is a bit dated, but we were not looking to spend a lot. If the rooms were a few inches smaller all around to allow for more sound proofing insulation, this would be a huge improvement. The AC fan drowned out most of the nose, and the other guests were definitely quieter after about 10PM.

We got a bargain rate for a one night stay over in October. The owner and other staff was helpful Grounds were nice and once moved to a quieter zone was peaceful at night.

The insulation between walls was awful. We had to move on account we could hear the couple talking next door to us and could hear absolutely every word as if they were in our room. Think the rooms need an update they were quite tired looking and the floor was a bit tatty and worn. Didn't like the sink in the bedroom no privacy for a couple which meant no mirror in the bathroom. Had to traipse back to reception for a bath tub plug.. Bath tap selector from shower mode didn't work so had to fill tub via the shower which wasn't great and took forever, subsequently water wasn't very hot.

This vintage style motel was wonderful. Full of charm. It was clean and tidy. The grounds were kept so nice. Charles who was possibly the owner was so nice. The outdoor pool area was fantastic. It was just so pleasant. The wood look floors were a nice change from carpet. The retro feel of the room was very warm and comforting. The room was well appointed and spotless.

Not a darn thing. We had a bit of a time finding the inn. We didn't see a sign off the highway where Lodgings are listed, but we also probably just didn 't see it. Charles gave us wonderful step by step directions while we were driving.

Room was clean & comfortable. Location was easy to find and access to highway was awesome. They guy on duty was helpful in getting the a/c going for us.

Unfortunately, there were other guests nearby that were screaming and loud - nearly called the police because of the disturbance they were causing. Some were kids, others adults - needed to get to sleep early as we had a flight to catch. Sad to say that people are not very considerate these days.

Rooms are clean and large, having a full fridge is helpful! Owner was very hospitable. Very comfortable and quiet. Also used the game room and found it decent that you could use a pool table for free and the other items were low cost for families.

Bathroom doors need to be fitted ( don’t close, maybe due to swelling???) Pool needs a touch up and items in game room could use some help. Didn’t like hearing an employee yelling at another one morning regarding being at work on time (right in front of us) That person was not very nice to staff.
