One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. The service from the girl at reception was impeccable!!! I was happy they checked in early, my baby was very tired from the trip and needed some sleep. the room was big, bright and clean. the sofa is super comfortable. I also liked the shampoo and conditioner dispenser. plenty of clean towels to use in the pool. I met 3 cleaning people during my stay, everyone was super polite and friendly with my baby. I really liked the hotel and the location, I want to go back after Memorial Day to enjoy the beach more. the snacks and headache medicine next to the reception were great so I didn't have to leave the hotel.

the pillows I found a little hard

The hotel is the perfect location. It’s right on the boardwalk toward the end of the shops/restaurants so it’s a bit less crowded than other boardwalk hotels. It is also directly behind a beach access point. You get 2 free beach chairs, but make sure to get them before noon or they may be gone. The pool area was nice and wasn’t crowded when we were there. They provide beach towels for the pool, which is nice. There is also a pool bar but it was only open one of the days we were there. You also cannot charge drinks to your room. The staff was very nice and helpful.

The mattress on one of the queen beds had a big dip where I was laying and I could feel the bar in my back (think Elaine staying in the convertible sofa at Jerry’s parents’ house on Seinfeld.)

The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and we loved having the small kitchen in our suite. It allowed us to have breakfast and lunch in our room. The location was perfect. We were within walking distance to restaurants and attractions. We had a very short walk to the beach and loved the ice cream shop next to the hotel lobby.

We did not like having to pay for parking. The hotel charges $20 per day to park in their lot. Unfortunately, most hotels in OC are doing this now so it may be unavoidable. The last night of our stay, the air conditioning did not work but we were refunded one night so the hotel did the right thing.

We were here for a dance convention and always love staying on the boardwalk. The Commander is in the perfect spot! Very clean and the workers are always very friendly and if you need anything they send it right away. Housekeeping is amazing and also very friendly. The balcony and views are perfect! We would definitely stay again!

The only disappointment was the extra parking fee of $20 a day. The price for a room for the week with no extra perks such as breakfast is a little steep. The outside pool closing at 7 was a little early. The inside pool was a little cloudy and cold however that is open until 10.

Very nice, clean and comfortable room. Design was classy and bright. Balcony was great. We had a small dog that was accommodated nicely. A/C was very good (reasonably quiet and effective). Staff was very good and friendly. Location was amazing as this is located just north of where the fun boardwalk shops/stands are.

Considering the room was labelled a suite, I expected there to be some basic dishes and utensils, which there weren't. Maybe I'm wrong, but when I see "suite," that is my expectation and what I normally see when I book other suites. Our room was right next to the only ice machine in the entire hotel, which woke us up every morning since it was constantly in use right before people headed to the beach. Also, considering I traveled well into the summer season, I felt the outdoor pool closed too early at 7pm. Finally, while the hotel itself is pet-friendly, I feel they need to add a pet area outside the hotel. There is very little grass in that area, so it was hard to find a place to actually take my dog to do his business.

All staff we interacted with were friendly & helpful. Housekeeping staff were super attentive. Location was great. Beds were comfortable with ample pillows! Buildings were safe & secure (all areas required key card access to enter). There was also a dishwasher in the kitchen that I didn't realize would be there so that was a nice surprise.

Lighting in hotel room was lacking; the only overhead lights were in the bathroom & entry. The rest of the space was lit by lamps which made seeing in the kitchen a little difficult. Kitchen only had 2 pots (saucepan & small stockpot) I wasn't expecting a whole set but a frying pan for eggs would have been nice. Coffee maker spurted water all over when brewing coffee. No toilet paper holder in bathroom. Only One tiny towel bar (for a room that sleeps 4-6 people) above toilet even though there was a ton of empty wall space where they could definitely fit 2 more.

The property was was very nice, but we had some issues in the beginning or our first day with the refrigerator in the microwave and then there was also ants on the balcony a lot of them

Like I said before, didn’t like the factl the refrigerator in the microwave and the ants on the balcony however, the front desk manager, Mr. Brooks Croswell he had everything professionally and took care of everything. I need to be attended to. I’m so thankful that you have a gentleman along with a staff that is willing to go the extra mile for the residence. This gentleman was outstanding and I don’t just say that I mean what I say. He was very nice to me and my wife.

Perfect location

The seniors there for senior week should be put on the lower floors and families on floors above them. Every night it was anywhere from 1:00-2:00 am that they were extremely loud in the hallway. I did notify the front desk but it was every night during our stay. My grandsons had a horrible time trying to sleep at night as we all did. Unfortunately June is the only time of the summer that our family can go to the beach. Unfortunately, that will be our last time staying at this hotel. Also, having to pay $20. a night for parking is another deciding factor to stay else where.

Family vacation spot for years, my favorite OC hotel hands down. Oceanfront on 14th Street. Comfortable Beds, Friendly staff. Rooms are great with two Comfortable Queen beds and pillows with TV and a safe.. Has that extra sitting area with couch/,pull out bed and dining room table and another TV which is nice when others are trying to sleep, two tvs in the same room is a nice lil perk I think. Balcony overlooking beach and boardwalk with table and two chairs. Outdoor pool is great, indoor pool is small but has plenty of chairs and both have towels which is nice. Parking is plentiful but a change in that policy which is explained in another part if this review.

Not that I have a complaint but they now charge a $63.00 parking fee. Was told the resort fee was removed and replaced with the parking. We stayed three nights so that was my total so possible $21.00 a day so be ready for that charge when you check in as well as a security deposit hold as well which will be refunded at checkout if all is well on your end.

Room was clean and had plenty of room for my family of four. The windows could have been cleaner, especially since we were in an ocean view room. The balcony furniture was very sturdy and comfortable. Drying Racks on the walls on the balcony would be a great addition! Great indoor and outdoor pools.

It's kinda of a bummer you have to pay for parking and don't get breakfast either. For the price this is the main reason we'll be looking elsewhere in the future. Need more staff to keep clean towels on the racks at the hotel pools.
