One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. The service from the girl at reception was impeccable!!! I was happy they checked in early, my baby was very tired from the trip and needed some sleep. the room was big, bright and clean. the sofa is super comfortable. I also liked the shampoo and conditioner dispenser. plenty of clean towels to use in the pool. I met 3 cleaning people during my stay, everyone was super polite and friendly with my baby. I really liked the hotel and the location, I want to go back after Memorial Day to enjoy the beach more. the snacks and headache medicine next to the reception were great so I didn't have to leave the hotel.

the pillows I found a little hard

All staff we interacted with were friendly & helpful. Housekeeping staff were super attentive. Location was great. Beds were comfortable with ample pillows! Buildings were safe & secure (all areas required key card access to enter). There was also a dishwasher in the kitchen that I didn't realize would be there so that was a nice surprise.

Lighting in hotel room was lacking; the only overhead lights were in the bathroom & entry. The rest of the space was lit by lamps which made seeing in the kitchen a little difficult. Kitchen only had 2 pots (saucepan & small stockpot) I wasn't expecting a whole set but a frying pan for eggs would have been nice. Coffee maker spurted water all over when brewing coffee. No toilet paper holder in bathroom. Only One tiny towel bar (for a room that sleeps 4-6 people) above toilet even though there was a ton of empty wall space where they could definitely fit 2 more.

The view of the beach and boardwalk from the balcony was great. You can see all the activity and close walk to stores.

This is not the hotels fault, but you can sit on the balcony for as long as until someone starts smoking or vaping on another balcony. It ruins the air for this rest of us, but this is also along the boardwalk.

The hotel was very clean, they have 2 elevators that are large enough to accommodate everything we were traveling with (baby gear). The rooms were very nice and clean. I loved that they had a laundry facility available (for $2) which was great when we needed to clean the baby’s things. The outdoor pool was also very nice, there was a bar and the hotel provided towels. They also had a restroom at the pool along with an area to clean off sand.

The indoor pool was smaller so we didn’t end up using it, no big deal. We booked an ocean front room (which we got) however, the hotel itself is on an angle, so unless you had an end balcony, you still did not get a full ocean front room.

The balcony doors are SO hard to open, definitely need fixed or replaced. This property is a nice place to stay, they just need to renovate instead of doing cheap repairs that look terrible. The new bathroom sinks are very cheap, and the toilet seat had marks on it. Surely they aren’t that expensive to replace…. And the wood bolted to the bottom of the door in our room .. Needs major renovation otherwise i really recommend this place!

Loved the location and our room was big enough for everyone to sleep comfortably. Love that our room was right by the pool entrance and the hotel is off the boardwalk. Hotel was also very clean 👌and staff very nice.

When I requested for the room to be clean the person that did the beds used the same comforters that were already on the bed instead of changing them. It had the same heat stain on it in the exact same spot thats how I could tell and the dispenser that held the body wash, shampoo and conditioner fell off the wall our first night and no one ever came to fix it after I notified the front desk but other than that everything else was very nice

Anytime I go to the beach sand is everywhere, of course, but the Commander was spotless from top to bottom. Very impressive. Nice carts to use and the facilities were labeled clearly, ice machine here, heated pool there, beach access through here. They even thought of putting chairs and a table on the balcony. Very personable staff as well. It was perfect. The rooms were cozy and efficient enough for my family with 3 young children could function and still enjoy the ocean/beach. . Next time I go to the OCMD, I'll definitely be looking at staying at the Commander again.

All of the staff were so friendly and accommodating at this hotel! We arrived around 12:00 pm at the hotel and our room was already ready for us when check in wasn’t supposed to be until 4:00 pm! The front desk manager went above and beyond for us when we decided last minute that we wanted to stay an extra day! The oceanfront view from the second floor was absolutely gorgeous and the location was perfect! The outdoor pool was so nice and there were plenty of lounge chairs for everyone. It was also an added perk that we got 2 free beach chair rentals each day with our stay! The housekeeping staff were very attentive and had our room cleaned and the beds made on the days we requested housekeeping services. I look forward to staying here again next year!

I liked the size of the handicap accessible room. Love the chairs on the balcony. The AC was super chilly. Love that. We were able to store the chair in our room and plug it in. Staff was always friendly and the free coffee was a nice touch

The room we were given had a few minor issues. I was expecting front of the hotel ocean front room. I was on the side. Ocean view, yes, but I guess it goes with handicap accessible you get what you get. The door was very difficult to push open fully because it must've swelled with the humidity making it hard to get the wheelchair inside. If i didn't have help i would have not been able to get in. Also, being right outside the stair entrance and the elevator, although convenient, was EXTREMELY noisy. And I'm not sure what kind of activity went on at 530 am on a Tuesday, but damn it's too early. Maybe it was garbage truck? Delivery?

It had been several years since my son and I went to Ocean City. I chose the Commander Hotel and Suites due to its location and affordability. Once we arrived, I learned our stay also included free beach chairs daily, free bicycle rentals, and discounts on various other amenities. The room was large and clean with an wonderful view of the ocean. The beds were comfortable. Parking was convenient and never a problem finding a spot. Overall, I was very pleased with the experience and if we would decide to return to Ocean City, feel very confident we would stay at the Commander again.

Our room was a suite so it had a sink, mini fridge, toaster, and coffee pot... along with some counter space to set items. When I have stayed in similar hotel rooms before, they included dishes and silverware. This one did not. I had to go to a local Walmart and purchase paper plates and plastic silverware.
