Hotel location is superb. The room was comfortable. When we arrived, the door between our room and the room next door (114 and 116) was unlocked and it took two visits to the front desk to get the door locked. Also -- our room phone was unconnected.

The bathroom is challenging -- the sink has virtually no room for items. You should consider putting some shelves above the toilet. The water temp in the shower was very hard to regulate. Our body wash was empty and again, this took repeated requests to get a new bottle.

Loved location in the heart of Harvard Square. Rooms were very clean. Staff was pleasant and helpful, offering to help with bags up/down the steps to the street. Beds were comfortable. Decor was fresh and modern. The toiletries were very nice.

The rooms are very, very spare. Would be nice to have small area rug or mats by the beds as the tile floors are cold and hard. Didn;t like the dark garage under the hotel. Please add lights so when people walk through the garage at night there is more illumination. It was a bit scary as offenders could be hiding in the shadows. Even motion-detector lights would be better to help light the way as needed.

The location is perfect: the heart of Harvard Square. The rooms were clean, quiet, spacious, and comfortable. Housekeeping staff did an excellent job cleaning rooms. Parking was conveniently located very near the hotel entrance. Complimentary coffee and tea were available in the lobby. Umbrellas were offered in the lobby on days when rain was expected.

Doors were very heavy and difficult to open. (Had to pull/push to ensure they latched closed or else they remained ajar.) Bathrooms had no fans to remove humidity. Closet space is extremely tiny.

Tremendous value for money. Immaculate and fresh - always looks like it was just renovated. Very comfortable beds. Perfect location for Harvard Square. It isn’t luxurious and the approach to the lobby is odd, and it doesn’t have a restaurant, but it is exactly what you need in Cambridge. I have stayed here and at the Charles many times, and over time I gave up on the Charles. It’s not any more comfortable or clean than the Harvard Square Hotel and it costs at least twice as much. I can walk over there for a meal and enjoy the lobby if I want and when I do I feel smug because I’m not paying for a room! I have also stayed at each of the other area hotels at some point over the past years, and this one has become my go-to top choice for the combination of value and location.

I wanted real milk, not creamer, for my free coffee in the lobby - but that’s not significant.

The coffee station in reception was a great addition. The bed was really comfortable and the staff were excellent. Really close to transport links to get to other parts of the city. I came to the city for the Boston marathon and this hotel was a great location to get where I needed to go. Good local restaurants and shops all within walking distance.

Fantastic location—close to shopping, restaurants and other tourist destinations. Coffee and tea available in the lobby round the clock. Very friendly front desk staff. A bonus: farmers’ market on Sunday morning right outside the hotel!

Some repair work (ie. chipped paint and water damage to the bathroom door and walls) would really help this hotel. That said, the location can’t be beat and I would stay here again.

Location is convenient. Room is small but clean. Hot/cold water and coffee at the lobby is convenient. Desks and chairs at lobby are convenient for working. Staff is helpful; manager very warm and professional.

A bit expensive. Hard to book during peak seasons. Bathroom a bit cramped.

The location cannot be beat if you are doing something connected to Harvard. Most things are just blocks away, and the hotel itself is set amongst restaurants and cafes. The hotel feels like a nice European hotel: simple but high quality, clean and efficient. The staff is generally quite nice.

The front desk staff was very hospitable and welcoming. They did their best to accommodate us while moving my daughter into her dorm at Harvard. If you are looking to be close to campus there is nowhere better in Cambridge. We did not use a car but the parking area felt very safe and our room was nice and spacious.

There was some minor wear-and-tear in the hallways such as the room numbers on the doors but for a beautiful historic building, the rooms felt brand new.

The location is excellent, with bus and subway station right outside the hotel, easy to get anywhere in Boston. the hotel is next to the Harvard campus and the Art Museum, I went to the Harvard campus every day during my stay. There is a wide range of Japanese, Vietnamese, Italian, Chinese and local food nearby, and I ate every kind in turn during my stay, all of which were very good. The front desk service was warm and attentive, and there was a lovely room service aunt, thank you very much. All in all, a very satisfying experience and I will be back here next time I am in Boston.
