So much to like about this hotel, its difficult to start! But maybe the obvious is the staff. Extremely helpful, polite, and always a smile and greeting from reception as you pass. And that is all staff. From excellent housekeeping, concierge to entrance door staff who always hold door open for you. This hotel exceeded all our expectations, especially for a central city center hotel. We loved Boston and this hotel, we would really like to return soon. Location is excellent right by Fenway Park which you can sit on the 2nd floor terrace and view, or take in a game which we did. Kenmore T station underneath hotel which we used every day to visit all the sights and take in 2 concerts around Boston. Some really nice bars and restaurants within walking distance and Fine art museum about 20 min walk away. Still and sparkling water available 24 hrs in reception with souvenir water bottle for each guest. Really nice complementary coffee and tea in the morning. I could go on and on. Well done to all who make this such a memorable hotel.

Not a thing!

So quite a few things went wrong but the staff took them seriously each time we contacted them. So their customer service was above and beyond, but we did have negative experiences during our stay.

There’s no breakfast buffet- would have been very convenient. The only things nearby are McDonald’s or Dunkin’s donuts, but there’s some sketchy people hanging around in that stretch of the street There was a big music event taking place in some big room directly under ours. If having quiet is important or you aren’t adjusted to the local time yet, be sure to check with them that this kind of thing won’t bother you.

A nice desk for work. A quiet fridge. A comfortable bed. No noise from other rooms. The soap, lotion, body wash were of high quality and in environmental friendly big containers.

It's an older building and it shows. The thermostat of the heater was 10 degrees off, and the heater on the loud side. The toiled didn't always stop running, and the shower water didn't drain. There was not a hook or rack to place a used bath towel. There were no slippers. There is no coffee maker by default, and no coffee in the lobby.

We were staying to see Hozier at Fenway and Hotel Commonwealth really became an oasis for us. With the heatwave making things unbearably/dangerously hot outside, we opted to make the most of it by remaining inside, and had no regrets. We were able to stay cool in the room and got room service for lunch and dinner, which really alleviated our stress and was also absolutely delicious! All of the staff are so pleasant and the level of guest care and standard of cleanliness are why we keep coming back to Hotel Commonwealth again and again. Looking forward to our next trip back :)

It was decently priced for the size and location. The location was perfect for us and the room was huge!

There was not a lot to the facilities, no extras. There was a very basic coffee bar until 10am, and a couple of restaurants attached to the hotel, that's it. The overall hotel looked like it was very old, updated only as needed and not well. The hallway smelled like paint, there was masking tape left behind in the bathroom, and massive dust bunnies falling from the bathroom fan that didn't work. So I guess the question is, how much would that bother you?

Staff were professional, helpful and friendly. All staff acknowledged you wherever you were in the hotel. The room was large, spotless, comfortable. The location was terrific. Right across from Beacon Street. A short walk to Fenway Park. Short walks to Northeastern and Boston University. My grandson lost one of his AirPods. We called the front desk while on the highway driving home. The front desk worked with housekeeping and found it in the sheets. They called and let us know and it was mailed out to us. Just an example of how they care for their customers. Definitely stay here. You will not be disappointed. We also ordered room service. The food was delicious. We had salmon and filet mignon.

No dislikes at all. Everything went smoothly.

This hotel is incredible value for the price. The location couldn't be beat - 10 minute walk to Fenway. The room was huge and spotless, and the temperature control actually worked. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've slept on in recent memory, it was the best sleep I've gotten in a hotel in a long time. We will most likely stay here again next time we're in the area.

There was a mix-up with the valet parking. We called ahead to let them know we have an oversized vehicle, we were assured that would not be an issue. When we parked they told us they couldn't accept our truck. They eventually rectified the issue and parked our truck, but some better communication between the valets would be helpful. The water temperature was very finnicky. Both the shower and the sink go from freezing cold to painfully hot easily. Not a big deal but was noticeable.

We were in town for a concert at the Music Hall at Fenway and this hotel was just a short walk to Fenway. Valet parking was a breeze. Every staff member at this hotel was welcoming and provided excellent service. Had some great sushi and cocktails in attached restaurant. While the lobby was lively with a pop up bar, the room was quiet and soundproof which made for a perfect night’s sleep in the incredibly comfortable bed. Ordered room service for breakfast in bed. It arrived quickly, and the food was fresh and delicious. Loved that checkout wasn’t until noon. Would definitely stay again!

There was a minor bathtub leak and cracked bathroom countertop, but it was very clean with great towels and other lovely amenities.

We stayed in a suite with a bedroom and living room/office which was fantastic in terms of space and convenience. The room and bathroom were spotless. Valet parking if you are driving in from away is a plus, and there is a T stop right out the front door that makes moving around the city simple. Good restaurants within a minute walk. The Red Sox organization was also there welcoming families and affiliates for opening day which made arrival fun despite my being there for surgery. I wanted to stay close to my doctors in Boston post surgery and this was a wonderful place to recover for a week.

Zero - loved it.

We were upgraded to a suite from a 2 queen bed room, and they provided another bed - the room was a good size and v comfortable - beds good. Location is relatively easy to get most places from including MFA and Isabella Gardner Museum, plus central eating and shopping, a 20 min walk to Boston Common and further 5 to Beacon Hill. The front desk and concierge staff were almost all unerringly welcoming, polite and helpful, as were the door staff and porters. Refillable, water flasks, coffee on tap and decent quality treats on offer a lovely touch and much appreciated!

Perhaps the reception area could be brightened up a little - and other than one slightly surly front desk person on day we left, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful.
