Clearly recently updated, Our room was really was clean, bright and spacious (2 queen beds) but also I liked the little touches such as the permanently affixed pump soaps instead of little bottles that don't get used and thrown away, extra hooks and shelves to hang up wet towels/coats, etc. We used the pool A LOT and it was great (My 6 yr old granddaughter and friend and me). I also noticed there were several safety measures in the pool area like multiple safety vests, rescue poles, visible phone for front desk/911 calls if necessary, plenty of clean towels available, etc. Breakfast was nice too, although with my taste I'd prefer the eggs and sausage cooked a little more. It was very very nice with a great rate and friendly staff. I'd absolutely recommend this hotel to any travelers. Thank you!

Really nothing. It was all very nice!

I wish we could have stayed another day. It’s a brand new location right off of the highway. It is located next to restaurants and a grocery store. EV charging is right across the street. The property was clean. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Breakfast options and time frame were good.

The only thing I didn’t like was the location. There is a small motel next to it with a lot of crackheads. Police and EMT service were often called. This is just a bi-part of Benton Harbor. They are cleaning up and rebuilding the city, but there are still some areas that aren’t completely cleaned out yet. This is no fault of The Hampton Inns, and conveniently, they have a security guard at the door overnight.

we had the 2 queen suite with the pull out sofa bed & loved how open the room concept was. It gave us a piece of mind with my son ,whose a little over a year old , crawling everywhere I could always keep an eye on him. I also appreciated that the toilet/ shower were separate from the sink/ mirror area. I really liked the style of the drawers with having a little one and how the desk came out from the wall with the tv mounted there. It gave the opportunity for more storage and just gave the room a updated appearance. We were nervous about staying in Benton Harbor but this location was safe, clean, and is a new facility. Also the welcome message on the tv screen was a nice touch :) Also the continental breakfast was very well stocked. I also really liked the variety in seating arrangements downstairs in the eating/ gathering area. It made it seem a lot more cozy and it’s easier to wrangle in the little ones in half booth/ half table situation or the half rounded corner booths off to the side.

Super friendly staff. The breakfast was very nice and extended to 10 am which we needed due to time change. Restaurant in Benton Harbor called The Brick House was recommended. We received a 10% discount and it was really excellent. Made our evening enjoyable and since it was near the lake we watched the sunset off the beach front. Loved the recommendations.

There was some trash in the grassy area behind hotel and signage off main road was not very visible. It is a unique and windy road to get to hotel. You need to go to Home Depot and then to left to hotel. From main road it is a narrow road and does not look like it is a main road to anything.

The environment

The breakfast was cheap. It seemed like they didn't have what it takes to Carter for the full capacity of their hotel. They know, due to the fireworks @silver beach, the hotel is ALWAYS booked to full capacity at this time of EVERY year, so I didn't understand why they did that at breakfast. Omelet was served for an hr or so, then they switched to scramble eggs made with "not so real eggs" without "hardboiled" eggs as an alternative either. There was no fresh cut fruits. Was really disappointed at this location of Hamilton.

This Hampton Inn opened during Covid with a dining room designed with interesting private dining stations. The whole hotel is beautifully designed and pristine. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was friendly and efficient. Altogether, we had a perfect experience.

I felt like the hotel added extra fees to make up for us booking through Booking.com. I tried to find my original quote to compare but couldn’t find it.

Room was updated and comfortable. Quiet area close to interstate.

GPS had a hard time guiding us to the hotel but that is not a mark off on the property. We had difficulty keeping the temperature up in the room but it was extremely cold outside so I suppose that makes sense.

The fact that you have the guest of the day, the room being very clean and spacious, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was great.

The travel lodge being an eye sore as you come in and most businesses being closed and shut down in the area. It really makes the area look bad and not to pleasant. Also being on the 4th floor the water pressure wasn’t to good in the shower.

We liked that the hotel was new! Biscuits and gravy was a nice option for breakfast. The staff working the breakfast area were nice and efficient.

Better breakfast options. We did not like the cereal choices, especially for kids The orange juice was out for 2 days, no bacon any of the days. I asked two days in a row for housekeeping to pick up our used towels in the room and empty the trash. It did not happen until I had to ask for the third time. We had to go get new towels at the front desk. Whenever I called front desk or housekeeping from the room it rang busy. We had to leave the room and go down to front desk. The two times I asked for new towels the person at the front desk wrote it down but when we returned in the evening the towels were still on bathroom floor and trash in room. I appreciate new towels daily, sometimes they don't dry in between using them. And trash should be emptied daily.
