We've stayed at Running Aces before and will likely do so again. This stay was for 10 days. The price, which included an incredible breakfast, can't be beat. The location is convenient for us, as we used to live in Forest Lake and have friends and family nearby. That said, it's also convenient to I-35, making for an easy drive to both Minneapolis and St. Paul. The rooms are clean and have both a fridge and microwave. We also enjoy the pool and fitness facilities. An added bonus is the convenience of watching the frequent harness races, or even just watching the horses get warmed up while eating breakfast or at other times during the day.

Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Easy check-in, location, amenities, and continental breakfast. Lots of parking and well lit parking. Large spacious room and comfortable bed. A/C worked great and was relatively quiet. Easy access from freeway and one exit from downtown Forest Lake. Great view of the racetrack from the second floor. They were practicing the first morning when we were there. Fun to watch them warm up, and some just raced around the track. I wanted to come again on race night and bet on them. We didn't have time to use the pool or casino.

This beautiful hotel is in a perfect place to stay when visiting family. If we had needed breakfast (we ate with family) the availability was really nice.

I have difficulty walking and the elevator access was far away from the front door. Also noted chewing gum all over the pavement the first night in the turn around in front of the hotel entrance. I had to watch where I was stepping. It was clean the next day. Also the handicapped parking did not allow for walking from your parked car as it was at least 1/2 block away from the entrance.

The large room is awesome. The coffee maker and fridge are a welcome site. Huge tv is wonderful to watch. In room safe is handy, along with hair dryer,iron and board. The beds are comfortable. Room air works great. Hall ways are nice and wide. Breakfast had all we could ask for. Eggs sausage toast muffins bagels cold cereal yogurt hard boiled eggs. Sure I am missing something so you will have to go see for your self. Different games for gambling. Food is served in the bar area. Very good. Have been there more than once and will be there again. In the middle of family we visit. Easy to find right off I-35. Shopping close by along with many places to eat if desired.

One of the luggage carts had ben stolen down to one. Only down side. As a older person I swear you bring 1/2 the house when you come so the carts are a heaven sent.

Bed was comfortable, room was clean, and provided plenty of towels up front. Breakfast was good and had good variety.

Pool had visible dirt on the bottom. They said on the key card folio that there was 24/7 room service, but there was not. The restaurant was supposedly in the casino, but we stopped looking for it because we felt uncomfortable dragging our young grandchildren through the casino.

Room had good facilities, including a large decent-size bath and choice of shower outlets (hand / overhead). Self-serve breakfast had a decent selection of self-service options.

TV guide didn't appear to provide details of what was on each channel, requiring a lot of channel-hopping in order to find something of interest (difficult when there are so many adverts intruding into programs).

The hotel part was excellent, nice room and comfortable bed. The food in the casino was good and an excellent value. The harness racing was an added bonus and was just fun to watch if you were not into betting.

The word "casino" is misleading. It was basically a card parlor as there were no slot machines or roulette tables, just card games. Also, after breakfast, the hotel did not offer a coffee service. You had to go into the casino for coffee.

Running Aces has huge spacious, clean, and comfortable rooms. Good assortment of food for breakfast.

Has express service for food at night, in the casino area, but wouldn't mind a sit down restaurant in the hotel area.

Clean room, super friendly staff. Cool to see the horses on the track from our room window. Was at a wedding nearby so didn’t spend much time on-site.

Coffee not available in later morning when checking out; A/C unit kicked in during the night like a freight train, but quieted to a tolerable hum and cooled off nicely.

I was going to be very late due to my flight being cancelled and the gentleman at the front desk on the night of Wed, May was superb! Super understanding and incredibly helpful. I appreciated that very much.

Breakfast on Friday ended at 9 am. I'd wish it ended at 10 am.
