It was quiet. It was peaceful. My husband and I went here for our one month anniversary. We loved just spending time together.
There was glass on the floor for a long period of time before anyone cleaned it up. The food (dinner)at the restaurant was horrible. It was dry and tasteless. For the price I paid I could have gone somewhere else or ordered delivery. Which I did order delivery. (Breakfast) The eggs were mush. The bacon tasted burnt but weren't. The selection was good but then you see the sign that says $14 for adults. Not worth that. The shower head leaked. There was little pieces of plastic in the bed sheets.

Let me just say that I’ve stayed at this hotel before and it's always been great but 2 things were different this time. Having to pay for parking ($10/night) and you had to ask for the cookies and they had to go in the back to get them. BUT…. The saving grace for the entire hotel was Lisa who works in the restaurant, McKnights, that’s inside of the hotel. She was the sweetest, kindest person that I’ve met in a really long time. She was the only one working in the restaurant and while it got quite busy, she kept her sweet disposition the whole time. We had dinner at the restaurant both nights that we stayed there and she was great both nights. Also, the food was EXCELLENT so kudos to the chef too! I hope that when we go back to visit our family, Lisa will be at McKnights because she is just TERRIFIC!
Do better with the cookies. Those cookies are a great incentive to stay there but when I have to ask for cookies and they have to be brought from a room in the back, I feel like I’m bothering people about it. And why are we paying for parking now?

The front staff lady was exceptionally courteous and helpful. The warm cookies that are handed out when you arrive are always welcomed. The room was clean and neat.. This hotel has been our first go-to place for several years now and we come into St Paul twice yearly.
We didn't like the new rule of paying ten dollars a night for parking, We were told that the city owns the hotel's parking lot and because of excessive vagrant parking, they had to charge parking. If that is true, then it is understandable.

Did not get any of the coupons that were advertised to come with the room. Breakfast was done serving at 10:00 and not 11:00 like we thought so we missed it. Had to drive around a long distance to find an APPLEBEES to eat.
The restaurant is a joke. You had to go sit in the bar and WAIT for a bartender to bring a menu, which never happened. I found one lying on the bar and took it to our table to read it. Extremely expensive and SHORT menu. No one came to take our order so we left. There were only 6 people sitting at the bar and no one had any food!!!! We ended up ordering Dominos pizza.

Breakfast which we paid $14.99 each plus tax and tip was sorry. Most hotels don’t charge for breakfast and it’s about the same quality that we paid extra for. And our room was $187.50 per night (3 nights) plus taxes. Way too much money. The manager was an arrogant man and not nice.
Room cost too much per night plus taxes. Breakfast was very disappointing and the price was high considering that it should have been included in the room price. Staff: some was nice, some not.

The rooms were clean, the property was in a nice spot. And some of the staff were nice.
The breakfast was expensive and not included, which is a reason we decided to have breakfast at other places. Also to have room service you need to request it the night before which was not effective. And there was a couple of times staff was not too nice.

The walls and floors could’ve been cleaned better. The blow dryer had another persons hair all in it and through the bag that was holding it. No housekeeping came to clean or even change our trash. Although those things happened during my stay the hotel and staff were nice !

I loved the hot tub! My room was very clean and the hotel itself is pretty quiet. The staff and the other guests are friendly. The complementary shuttle was nice as well.
I didn’t like how it’s away from the city life, but they make up for it by having a hotel shuttle. However the shuttle bus is subject to availability.

The Staff especially Shelly at the front desk made wonderful exceptional choices in our stay.
3rd shift creep won't let you check in early after we called multiple times to arrange. He was the young stuck up kid who let me and my wife sit in the lobby for another 4 hours. It was exceptionally slow. He should be let go and continue to get get away and stay from any customer service jobs.

Location was perfect for my needs.
Only thing a little disapointing was the shower stall floor. The grout is gray thru-outexcept the floor. The half of the floor from shower head and some wall grout is white from not being cleaned. Didn't notice until shower tome in the morning.
