Breakfast was quite good, only one selection but substantial. Coffee, tea and two types of juices any amount, Coffee available all day was a bonus. The room was clean and functional, a decent king size bed, and all amenities. Ised the microwave for tea that was relaxing and the AC both hot and cold functioned superbly as the weather went from cold to hot all the time, For commuting to Manhattan , walk along the avenue towards JFK Boulevard and take any number of buses 161 and 160 are the best. To come back use the 125 and get off at 28th & JFk. That's the only way. If you have your own car, God bless you , drive away to glory! Staff was most helpful afetr check in. Saloni Kaul

They should have a luggage store room for early guests or those overstaying allowing them one night free storage. Because of Booking .com, I don't even get my WYndham reqreds.

If you're on this hotel's page, you've already seen the exorbitant prices charged in NYC. Super 8 offers good value for money. The room is comfortable and fully equipped. We were well accommodated for 4 people. A simple breakfast is provided and was welcomed by our group. Getting to Manhattan is easy as there is a shuttle that stops in front of the hotel for $3.50. There is not much waiting for this transport, which runs every 10 minutes.

We didn't have any difficulties. It's important to know that you may have to carry your luggage up the stairs to the 2nd floor. Some of the staff members are not very patient when it comes to answering questions, but don't let that ruin your stay. The hotel delivers what it promises.

It had parking. They provide you toasts and coffee/tea. They clean your room and change towels. Location was right over Lincoln tunnel, 5 min away from bus which takes you to Port Authority which is almost the middle of Manhattan. Bus costs 4$ though one way for 1 person.

Run by Indian family. All staff was Indian. Breakfast is very mediocre - just toast with tea / coffee, no fruits like banana, apple, no eggs or some kind of sausages. I wouldn't dare to call it breakfast. But nevertheless similar "hotels" would cost you 300-500 USD on Manhattan side without any sorts of breakfast or parking. So considering all the alternatives- it was a good option. And much better than "Ramada by Wyndham North Bergen" - which is still under construction and half of the facilities close.

I have stayed here before and will probably stay again when visiting NYC. It is a drive up style motel and the rooms have everything I need as a single traveller plus only $25-30 for an Uber to and from Newark Airport. Comfortable bed, big bathroom with great water pressure and hot water. The room also has decent free wifi and a safe, fridge, microwave, lots of outlets, iron, hairdryer etc, etc. The big selling point here is the value for money and the ease of getting into Manhattan. A room of this size and facilities in Manhattan costs at least 3x more than the Super 8. Getting to Manhattan is easy, you simply stand outside the motel and flag down the New York express bus that drives by every 10 mins and it costs $4 per person (cash only) which takes 15-25 mins depending on time of day and traffic. It drops you off 42nd/8th Port Authority / Times Square and the motel provides a printout of the express bus instructions in and out of Manhattan. You travel with the locals on the express bus but there is always a seat available from my xperience! The property itself is a little run down and the area is not overly exciting but there are a couple of retail parks close by providing supermarkets, cinemas, Walmart, Starbucks and several chain fast food restaurants.

There is a $100 deposit that is also required that is taken out of your account (not a hold) if you use a card but is promptly returned a few days later after you depart assuming you don't destroy the room, so be aware if you are on a tight budget. If you wish to leave your bags with the motel while you go to Manhattan to kill some time before a night flight home, it will cost as it cost me $10 for one bag for a few hours. Be aware if you miss the last Express Bus or NJ Transit bus back from Mahattan to Super 8 NJ that an Uber will cost $40 as crossing state lines seems to add a huge fee :(

As other reviewers mentioned, this Super 8 hotel in North Bergen has a shuttle stop right outside the lobby doors which make it extremely convenient to travel to New York City. In about 17 to 18 minutes from pick-up at the hotel, you get dropped off at the Port Authority bus station at the intersection of 42nd St and 8th Avenue. As of July 2025, the one way per adult ride cost $3.50 in cash. The hotel is of great value with this method of travel. My room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The AC worked fine to keep my room cool to 69 degrees each day of my 2-night/3-day stay. The breakfast was just sliced bread with options for some jam and butter, a toaster to toast the bread, some granola bars, and some basic coffee. There was also a juice machine that I didn't use. Not much to expect for breakfast, but there's an Aldi about a 4 to 5 minute walk away so you can stock up on other food items. The affordability and travel convenience to see the sites of Manhattan while not having to drive to/through that city made this option an ideal choice for my travel plans. There were plenty of bus options to return from NY Port Authority to a bus stop about an 8-10 minute walk away from the hotel. If you catch a shuttle or bus back to the hotel, it should cost the same ($3.50) but sometimes the drivers require a bus ticket that comes from the kiosks or ticket counters at the port authority which costs $4.10 for a Zone 2 ticket back to the hotel.

The breakfast was really sparse, but for the hotel price and considering Aldi nearby, it's really not much of a complaint (if at all) for me.

We wanted to book a place that is relatively close to Manhattan and not to expensive. We planned on coming in the morning, just to part and go to the city and come back late, so we had no expectations and we read reviews about the place so we new that breakfast is very basic. However, this place exceeded our expectations, it started with the fact that we arrived at 10:30AM and although we just needed to checking to leave the car, they gave us the room, so that was great. The next day they let us park late than 3PM so we could be in the city until 5. And the place was super convenient to get to and from the city, public bus 200m from the hotel and kids go on for free.

It was out of town so I got to experience a difference side of New York on the Jersey side. The hotel was very budget friendly and didn't compromise on cleanliness and important amenities. We never used the breakfast but i wouldn't say it's much of a breakfast. Something to keep in mind especially for solo travellers and couples. Ubers to the hotel from Manhattan were around $45. We took the shuttle bus every morning for $4 per person to save money but opted for car rides on our way back. This added additional cost to our overall stay. Hotel options in Manhattan were expensive enough to justify the extra cost for our party of three but they might not be for solo travellers or couples.

It's on a busy highway so it was quite loud.

Location: Located in New Jersey, there is a shuttle available for €3.50 per ride, running every 10 minutes, which takes you directly to Times Square in less than 20 minutes—very convenient. Note that it only accepts cash. Rooms: The rooms are large and spacious. Housekeeping is done daily, even if you leave the room late, and everything is very clean. The Hotel: It’s more like an older motel, but given the price, there’s really nothing to complain about. Breakfast: Breakfast is decent for the price, with bagels, cream cheese, coffee, and tea. The orange juice is good. For those who want a more substantial breakfast, there’s an ALDI five minutes away on foot and the IHOP brunch restaurant less than a 10-minute walk away. There’s also a fridge and microwave in the room.

I had an issue with the hotel, as I was charged for the room as well as the pre-authorization made before my arrival. The staff wasn’t very helpful in resolving this. Be sure to use a credit card rather than a debit card to avoid this issue.

Clean, comfortable but very expensive for a night at almost 200$, plus the 100$ deposit! We are back here again and it was 187$ this time. Oh well! It’s the most comfy place we stayed the last few weeks! We need an apartment or a house to rent! Hit me up on my IG @scorpicat if you have any info on places for rent in the tri-state area! Thanks and happy hunting! Colleen

The location right next to that main road makes it noisy. That’s about it though! Other than that it’s a good room! Mini fridge and microwave!!! We recently stayed in rooms that cost more and had neither of those items!!!

Rooms are old but very clean and beds are comfortable. Parking can be a bit tight if you have large SUV or truck but not a problem lots of spots available at all times for guests. Location is the best if you are visiting manhattan it is a short shuttle ride away. Minimal traffic noise, nothing that will keep you up at night. For this price I would stay here again it was a pleasant experience

Only issue was that our door lock didn’t seem to work
