Do yourself a favor, get off the interstate highway and visit Westfield, NY. And, stay at the Theater Motel. It has a Route 66 vibe that the chain hotels just can't touch. Our room was spacious and included a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. It was very tidy and comfortable. The hotel owner was very friendly and went way out of his way to accommodate an out of the ordinary request that we presented him. He is making a valiant effort to keep this piece of post war Americana alive.

If you only stay at Hiltons, then maybe you should pass on the Theater, because then your comparison and critique would most likely be unfair to the Theater. But, if you enjoy Mom & Pop motels, diners, shops, etc, and small town America with all of its charm (and maybe minimal amenities), then the Theater Motel is for you.

I loved the beautiful flowers hanging in baskets and planted in front of each room. A covered picnic area and seating outside our room was nice for relaxing. All necessities were readily available. The cost was very nice and not overly priced. The staff were super friendly and ready to help with whatever we needed.

I wasn't quite comfortable with the lock on the door. It was only a door handle lock that seemed a little lose. I'd like to see some more security for the door and better window coverings. I thought there should've been more shelving especially in the bathroom area for personals. The room seemed clean but had an air fragrance plug-in plugged in the middle of the wall (outlet) that could have been nice for whoever likes the scent. Personally, I felt it was way too strong and was trying to cover up a musty odor.

The motel is styled like something straight out of an American movie, so if you're a tourist from outside the USA, you'll feel like a movie star :) The staff is very, very nice! All of them. When we arrived late evening, we asked them where we could buy some water, especially for our young children, and they gave us two bottles for free. We only stayed for one night passing through, but I'm sure that staying for more nights would be great too. Highly recommended!

The heating was provided by an old, noisy radiator, but it worked well enough to keep the room warm.

The owner was wonderful. He was so nice, personable, approachable , and clearly wanted to make sure we were satisfied with our stay. The price was very reasonable. There was a microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator in the room and the room was very clean. I thought the history of the property was quite interesting. The rooms appeared to be renovated and some exterior work done. More work to be done on exterior but did not adversely affect our stay. We liked the location and explored the area with the motel our home base.

I have no complaints. I am sure it takes a lot of time and money to renovate and the owner is doing a great job

The room and bed -and bathroom!- were impeccably clean! The property decor is old, but well-maintained; the toilet and sink are new and have good water pressure and hot water. The mattress/linens are new and very comfortable. I felt safe here, too, with a thick door with double lock, and parking outside every room.

It's clear that the owners have updated necessary components of the rooms -mattress, toilet, sink, TV= but it IS a simple, older room. I don't mind that, but some travelers might.

The bathroom and room were very clearn. They had everything we needed a fridge, microwave and coffee pot. We would definitly recommend this to our friends. Westfield is a perfect little getaway location with lots to see and do.

I don't have anything that I didn't like. The place is a little dated but I'm not picky about things like that. Everthing was in good working condition and the location was perfect for us.

Room and bath were exceptionally clean, the bed & pillows so, so comfortable, plenty of outlets to charge devices.

Kleenex was not provided, no extra roll of bath tissue, doors are outside access and good use better locks, just a single packet of coffee, coffee pot could use a good soaking with baking soda & water.

Room and bedding was very clean and we were impressed. Carpeting was fairly new and looked good. Coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave were in good shape.

The heater was a little slow to respond to temperature changes, it was cold the night we stayed but after it turned on and heated up it was Okay. The one towel rack was broken, no place for hanging towels.

I am not aware that breakfast was an option. The owner was very friendly and accomadating-we arrived early and rooms together were not available near the office (wi-gi sketchy away from office). We first chose to be near office, then changed to having rooms next to each other and he was very gracious with all of this. The beds were comfortable, rooms were very clean-a little dated but it was obvious that upgrades were being made.

The people next to us were outside our door talking-they weren't being loud but you could clearly hear them up until about 10 pm.

Owner was super nice, friendly, and welcoming! Room huge, super clean, and quiet too! I was getting ready for bed after midnight when there was a knock at my door (had just gotten in from 4th of July fireworks), little freaky, but when I looked out the peephole, it was the owner who told me the dome light was still on in my car! (He had tried calling and texting but I had my "do not disturb" on.) He told me he always checks everything before he shuts down for the night. Seriously, you would never get that kind of service and care at a Best Western or Hyatt!!! Was just there overnight but would not hesitate to book there again.
