Beautiful view. You can enjoy the outdoors even at night with all of the lighting. The main lodge was great as well. Bought a couple of souvenirs via PayPal as well. Next time, we're definitely staying at the Winter Star cabin though. Nothing wrong with the Piscah cabin, just would have preferred the view of the Winter Star better.

Really nothing to complain about. The floorboards squeaked a bit in the living room? The leather sofa was noisy?

We loved everything about this place, it was super clean with beautiful, lush surroundings and spectacular views. The lodge was a wonderful surprise with a piano, game tables, and an industrial kitchen for use by the guests. We booked this while on the road, so we had no idea what to expect. It was a delight.

The Wi-Fi was spotty in our room, but it was fine in the lodge if needed. There is no cell signal.

Easy check in. It's do it yourself. Loved it. Nice and cozy place my daughter loved the bunk beds and had her own sink she told everyone about it. We loved being tucked away in the mountains very quiet no TV loved it they had great wifi just so nice and peaceful. Very clean can't wait to go back 😄

This location is perfect for a mountain getaway. Listening to the flowing creeks was peaceful. The owners have put in a lot of thought to the smallest details of this location. The kitchen has so many utensils for cooking various meals and even baking muffins or cupcakes.

This is a personal preference but the only negative thing I can say is that the mattress was to firm for us.

Beautiful views , quiet area to relax and recharge

An impeccably clean and modern cabin, the tranquility and space to wander the grounds or simply sit and watch occasional clouds roll across the mountains was very special. it was also within 30 minutes drive were plenty of places to visit locally too, arts, nature trails and live music events.

initially, we thought it would be limiting having (although they were quality appliances) just a coffee station, microwave and fridge/freezer in our cabin. It meant that all cooking had to be done in main lodge, however, once seeing the lodge and the large clean communal kitchen it made sense. It also gave us the chance to quietly mingle with other guests and share the amazing views for any cooked meals.

The retreat’s location in the midst of nature, with view of the Black Mountains is unique and pure relaxation. The room was spacious and nicely appointed, best of all was the porch with rocking chairs. We also made good use of the main lodge with kitchen and dining room.

It is very convenient that guests can check in / out on their own and pretty much manage everything independently. If we had not arrived a few minutes early, we would not have met anyone with the retreat’s friendly team during our entire stay. This is a bit of a pity and takes away a personal touch.

Very clean and very quiet. Comfy rooms. Close to Mt. Mitchell trailhead which is why I was here.

Property very dark at night and a long haul to get food as others have noted.

The setting was gorgeous! Very remote and quiet. Rooms were very clean.

The rooms would be a bit more comfortable with a dehumidifier.

This was our second time staying at Mount Mitchell Eco Retreat. We love the location, the natural surroundings, and the clean, comfortable accommodations.
