The breakfast is very good. Great selection of items to choose from. Miss Debbie who oversees the breakfast is amazing. She greets everyone with a smile and makes sure everyone has what they need. The desk clerks are all very helpful and extremely nice. The location is great. Convenient to many towns nearby to explore as well as waterfalls and other outdoor activities.

I can’t think of anything I didn’t like. The only minor concern is our bathtub seemed to be a little slippery when we took our showers.

Loved the view of the river and rockers on the porch to sit and watch the river. Very peaceful! Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great! The biscuits were moist and fresh and the sausage gravy just topped it off! Good coffee also!!

No coffee maker In our room. The pool and hot tub were available 10am to 10 pm. It would be good if it had been available a little earlier because we wanted to get in the hot tub before checking out. Not enough parking space. We came in late in the evening and had a hard time finding a place to park. Didn't like that it was on a dead end road.

The hotel has a wonderful view of the river in the deck outside, so that was really enjoyable. They also have a hot tub and an indoor pool, so you could really relax and enjoy it, even more in the winter (when we traveled). The breakfast was very good, and the cooking lady was making sure everything was okay and checking the supplies.

I didn't like that the room is not cleaned every day, and they didn't let us know that at the counter. They had very few personnel available so that's why they couldn't clean the room.

Very nice location next to a river.

Rooms had a very musty smell. Changed to another room with same smell but less. There were two young ladies at the desk that were not at all happy that we changed the room. One really had an attitude at disgust towards us. One of the luggage dollies had a flat tire, so I put it in a location away from the others and she was not happy with that and showed it. We got into a bit of a "discussion" about why it should not be with the other dollies. Other than the musty smell and the staff issue, the location was nice and the morning breakfast was very good.

I have family in the Dillsboro area, so every time I visit I stay at River escape best Western. The location is perfect for me to get anywhere I want to go. The room is always clean and comfortable. Breakfast is wonderful and the staff is friendly and courteous

Totally my fault, but I stayed on the side without a view of the river. I won’t do that again. I love sitting on the balcony and watching the river.

room was super, great shower, excellent views onto the river & direct access to the boardwalk. well laid out & a good size. location by the river is very tranquil. there is a pool & a gym. plenty of parking.

on arrival got checked but the check in staff didn't seem too happy, no smiles. breakfast was pretty basic. room smelt a bit musty with the AC on, but with the window open & mosquito mesh was fine.

The location of the hotel is a big plus. It is about half a mile from the quaint downtown area of Dillsboro. Wonderful restaurants and shops. I booked a room with a balcony overlooking the river. It's definitely worth the extra money. So quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. The breakfast was excellent! Lots of great choices. The pancake machine had some issues, but I always found someone to fix it. (The pancakes were delicious, so it was worth the effort.) Each day, they had a different breakfast meat and eggs as well as pastries, bagels, cereal, juices, yogurt, and so on. The breakfast area had indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the river. What a wonderful way to start your day! The beds were very comfortable, and the room was clean with plenty of towels. Super soft water and good water pressure.

The air conditioning was very loud and never seemed to shut off. The lighting in the bathroom was super dim, and there was no way to adjust it. There was a strong smell in the hotel like a cleaner, not a bad smell, just very strong, so it took a little getting used to. I opened the door to my balcony to get fresh air in the room. The jets in the pool's hot tub were not working, and the coating on the pool and hot tub were very sharp. It was like little tiny sharp pebbles. Also, I swam in the evenings, and they didn't turn on the lights in the pool area 4 out of 5 days. So the only light in the pool area was natural light. So when it started to get dark, it got very dark in there. Maybe should've use an auto timer system.

The room was comfortable and quiet--the arch somehow created more of a welcoming feel, the blue color scheme was soothing, and the bed was great. The highlight was being able to sit out in rocking chairs to watch the river as the sun went down. A blue heron made a lovely view even more interesting.

Breakfast was a little tricky for us because we eat lowfat. Wrapped apples were the only fruit we saw. Some of the other guests were going on and on about the pancake machine, but that's not the hotel's fault!

This hotel is our favorite one in the area. We stay there whenever we are in town for our students who are at WCU. We also enjoy it's proximity to downtown Dillsboro and all the adorable shops!

I have no complaints. The staff is always nice and available, the facilities are in good condition and the back deck on the river is an added bous!

Most everything was good.

We brought grandchildren. I called ahead to make sure the pool was heated. Was told it was, but that was not the case. Could have been a simple misunderstanding though. The refrigerator was unusually small compared to most places. There was no coffee maker in the room.
