The Arden Forest Inn is an ideal base from which to enjoy the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and other events in this charming cultural oasis at the base of the Siskiyou Mountains. The OSF and other downtown attractions are a fairly easy 1/2 mile walk. The inn features a peaceful setting with beautiful grounds and well-kept rooms with traditional furnishings. It has the feel of a country inn from a simpler time. The innkeepers are helpful, knowledgeable and unobtrusive. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. A picnic table is on a covered porch by the garden. For more privacy, the room I was in had a table and chairs by the door. A kitchenette with coffee maker, microwave and full sized refrigerator is shared by all guests. Breakfast is not served, however the Ashland Food Co-op is in walking distance. The Arden Forest Inn is my new favorite place in Ashland and I look forward to staying here again.

I disliked nothing about the Arden Forest Inn.

Arden Forest Inn was a delightful place to stay during our trip to Ashland Oregon for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. The setting is quiet and calming with its gardens, outdoor seating areas, and resident deer. Though we did not use it, a swimming pool was nestled in the back garden area. The room was very sweet, cottage-like. The bed linens were lovely. The hosts are very accommodating.

The Inn has been in operation for many years, but has not lost its charm. We liked everything about it.

The owners were lovely--very friendly and welcoming; the space had a nice patio in the front which helped make being on the street much more private; plenty of parking; good coffee space directly behind my room (ooo wouldn't a stackable laundry have been fabulous there too!); large bed; beautiful grounds...and a pool! Who knew?!?

"Didn't like" is much too strong. Be aware that this is not a TV space, but wonderful for relaxing, bopping around town, seeing the OSF. MILD surprise that my LARGE room was not more...zhuzhed...not more...charming...in terms of decor. Read just a smidge tired, as did the mattress. None of this would keep me away on a return trip, and don't prefer snooty boutique or kid friendly schlock...but for the higher price, particularly mid-week, more umph would have felt like the splurge it was. Fresh flowers maybe? Bottled water, local art on the walls, a small basket of utensils/cloth napkins, pretty toiletries, soft AMPLE towels, coupla wine glasses, cushions on the patio chairs...little stuff that plays BIG. But overall, a really nice stay.

The room was plush. There is a community room that contains a Keurig, coffee pods, a fridge with freezer, and filtered water. A very spacious, green yard with trees and plants. There are two outside patios, one covered. The host are available but not intrusive. The Inn is walking distance to the plays and main part of town.

The cleanliness, homeyness, and quiet of the room. Sitting in the semi wild garden, drinking coffee in the morning. Just what I needed.

It was just a little more than I wanted to spend, given that it is advertised as a bed-and-breakfast, but no longer serves breakfast. Otherwise, everything about it was very pleasing. Definitely would want to come back.

We loved the quaintness of the room and variety of shady, beautiful outdoor seating. Very homey feeling. Very easy to walk to downtown Ashland and the Shakespeare venues.

No fridge in the room but we were there only one night so it didn’t bother us at all. Bed was a little hard for me but that’s normal for me. Just fine for my husband.

Very pleasant, liked the scented bush, African decor, (my brother is an Africanist)yard and patio must be great in warm weather. William was very nice. Location is great for attending OSF, and parking is a plus. I appreciated that there were no scents I was allergic to. We were in Oregon for a medical appointment.

The sheets seemed a little sad. The kitchen was a little smelly.

We are convinced that William is a former professional chef because his breakfasts were so good. Light flaky biscuits, a spinach quiche that was perfectly seasoned, a fluffy chile relleno. Corbett was the perfect ringmaster of the breakfast table. Two great hosts, comfortable attractive room, sweet king bed. The grounds had different spaces to hang out in with coffee or a glass of wine. We relaxed in the clean, spacious pool area. This would be our first choice to stay.

There is a beautiful spacious yard, so natural and inviting there was actually a Doe and her fawn residing in the yard. It was shady with a number of areas that you could wander off to if you wanted privacy. There were other areas to gather with fellow guests, enjoying coffee and conversation. The location was an easy walk from downtown, we got around by bike. The Inkeepers are delightful, friendly and excellent chefs.

The property is well located and charming. The breakfast was superb. But it is the hosts who are extraordinary. Wonderful, charming, delightful raconteurs, and the embodiment of what makes a bed and breakfast special.

There was nothing we did not find delightful. Keep in mind that this is a B&B and not the Ritz. Still, the thoughtful decor, delicious breakfast and adorable hosts make up for the lack of 24 hour room service.
